shania's new album

Have we heard anything new. The latest rumour I heard was that there would be a new album in September.   I think it was  sad of ET to state there would be a new cd in May. Obviously they did not check their facts. What is Shania's fanclub saying? Does anyone know?

The fanclub isn't really saying anything else.  Just that the may rumor isn't true.

The fan club really isn't much use to any fans at all. They don't tell the fans anything, they mislead the fans and then they take them for suckers.
But then again it is under Shania's name and if she doesn't care how it is run then why should anyone else.
Don't expect the shania twain fan club or anyone in her management to tell the fans the truth or even be honest and upfront.
It is all about misleading the fans and covering for an artist who hasn't produced any music in the last many years and hasn't toured in so many years.
Sometimes I actually feel sorry for her management or label to have such a lazy artist who doesn't tell anyone anything and can't give an honest answer.
But then again the fanclub and her management should just come out and say Shania is not really into music or touring and hasn't been for several years and don't expect any new music this year.
Just come out and say it and be honest with the fans.
Or better yet, maybe Shania herself should clear things up for everyone instead of hiding behind statements from Qprime that nobody believes.

They are not saying anything because they want to string the fans out as long as they can to keep them interested thinking new music is coming this year like she told us.
But the way things are going now with no word of anything don't expect any good news for the 6th straight year.
Wow, I wish I had the luxury of taking so many years off.
Rosanne Cash just had brain surgery and she was out there touring the next month because she loves music and her fans.
Yet Shania comes up with the lamest excuses for not putting out a decent album or tour in 5 years.

Let me also say, that I love Shania's music and will always support her music.
I am just being honest. Call me the black sheep of the famly who has the guts to say what I and many others are believing.
I feel bad that Shania is losing so many fans over her inability to communicate properly to the fans she had and her lack of making music or touring.

As members might have noticed in my biography I have a yellow lab... Her name is Sasha... I asked her to bark once if shania will have a 2008 CD or bark twice if she will not... She just yawned and fell back to sleep. She is a pretty smart doggie... Maybe too smart to have a strong opinion... Maybe we should all take a lesson from old Sasha.... Bob

When will Shania's new cd come out?

I thought we could all have a go as to when we think Shania's new cd will be coming out. Of course there is no prize if one of us is right but I thought it might be fun to try to get it right.  I've decided that she will be coming out with a cd this year and I think it will come out in November.....anyone else.

My hopes still are for November, but the closer we get the more unlikely, yet we have a long way to go before November, and a lot of word was revolving around even from Shania herself, 2008.

Let it be November.

It's been suggested Shania should link up with producer Rick Rubin who is supposedly based in the LA area. He's worked with The Dixie Chicks, Justin Timberlake, Red Hot Chili Peppers and U2.

Shania may consider switching record labels, to get away from Mercury. Her label didn't do a great job of promoting the Up! album that's for sure.

She may well be aiming to get as much music recorded over the next six months so fans can at least hear some samples, but the actual album might not be released until Spring 2009 when she'll have more time (and hopefully, a better frame of mind) to go out and promote it.

Rick Rubin was the first producer i had in mind,he is a genious, and just like Mutt he can be succesful in various music fields, but his jobs are not the most uplifting ones.
well i guess shania could produce herself with the help of Cory Churko's brother,he is a great engineer.

Yes Tina. My first thought about this next album is will Shania get producing credits as well. I heard about the Rick Rubin rumour as well. If she decides to go with him she will be in good hands. I guess time will tell who she will choose. I guess in terms of her career, this will be one of the most important decisions she will make.

Lulu i agree,
this next project of shania would be exciting and i will be the first in line for a ticket when she tours in Ontario area, actually to be exact one of you guys will be in line to get one ticket for me too.smile
i really can't wait to hear her next work,i'm guessing it will contains songs with deepest meaning.
she could produce herself Martina does, all she needs is a good engineer like Cory's brother.

I agree - I think Shania could mix and engineer it herself, and do a damn fine job... And I'm also really interested in her lyrics too!

Sorry folks....Don't think she has currently ANY direction  as to what her new music will be...I don't think she knows if it will be country or A.C.... I would suggest that any music that MAY have been worked on with Mutt in her many years of doing nothing would be garbaged unless her self esteem is lower than I even think.. If she still has something left it should be starting from square one...Will it ever be as good NOPE...Will the tour ever be as good NOPE....Will her Shania/mutt hits ever feel the same live in concert again...NOPE....
My call was 2010 for any chance of a CD...I think that is even a stretch...Pretty hard for us to know...She doesn't know...She can say all she wants on her message to fans about new music.. Lets see if she can walk the walk....Bob

I disagree.
From what we have seen in years past, anytime there has been personal strife with Shania, she has not only met the challenge, she has risen high above it. While this episode is certainly demoralizing -- because she lost two people she thought she could trust. I personally believe her next release might be her best stuff ever!
I say that because Shania is a fierce competitor, and whenever she has her eyes on anything... she's gonna get it. I take Shania to be an honest person too, but you can't always tell the public everything. Sometimes there are unavoidable obstacles that conflict with time-tables. But when the next CD does come out, all the "I's" will be dotted, the "T's" crossed, and be spot on.
I'm looking forward to this CD very much!
Also, there is absolutely no reason to expect any less out of her concerts either. Actually, that's probably where she can relax and have fun a little bit.
Onstage, she is always magnifique!

I have to agree with Landsharkk here. Shania has already shown she is a survivor. She will survive this divorce also intact. She will do whatever she needs to do to not only get well but thrive as well. She has always been determined and competitive. She will come out with another cd and I too believe it will be her best work to date. As for touring. She enjoys the stage and uses it well. She is fantastic live. I see the major issue in her life is ensuring she gains custody of Eja. If a judge thought touring would interfere with that then of course she would not tour. I can't see that happening though. You can be a good mother and tour as well. I feel for what she is going thru but this too shall pass. Shania will be back.

Yes Lulu i agree too,
i have exaclty the same opinion about shania's strength and determination.
heck ,she went through many difficulties in her youth.
now about touring,i think she could make a few special appearances every few months and a few more during summers so she can have Eja with her.
but the problem with that it would be finding the right band, because who would want to work for just a few days and then nothing?

Hi Country gal. I agree she could tour around Eja's schedule. It may be difficult finding a band to work that sort of rotation. Another possibility is she could have a tutor for Eja and home school him while she is touring. I guess these are the sort of questions she has to deal with now. I think she would favor keeping Eja in school. Celine Dion home schools her child and that seems to be going well. Thats where I got the idea for home schooling.

Yes Lulu I know what you mean,
when Wynonna Judd told shania that she's homeschooling her kids shania liked the idea, but i'm not sure how normal a life like this can be for a small kid.
i think that kids have to be around other kids, this is going to be a difficult decision to make.
of course i could be wrong and homeschooling might be great, but i said that because shania have always said that she'd like Eja to have a normal life and not be infected by her career.
maybe Mutt could be a genlteman and help shania out on this, the ideal for me would be if Mutt moved permanently to Canada, besides he was the one that pursued shania, and he was the one that came to America all the way from Europe.
ah,who knows, the whole situation must be difficult for the 3 of them.

Love the comments sharkk and the follow ups.

I personally know a few people who were and are homeschooled and they are doing well, although it is a hard choice taking a kid out of an environment with other kids involved. Shania spoke nicely of Wynonna's decision and I also know Shania said it takes a village to raise a kid. Once a child enters the world being it school they are influenced by many people. Sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes a good/bad parent, sometimes a good/bad teacher and so on. Should be interesting to see where it goes but I'm sure Shania will do fine. I still think those love songs written with Mutt will be odd in concert from now on but we'll see... she is a professional.

Exactly Joe,
Professional, that's the word that describes shania as a performer.
when her parents died she took that job in Deerhurst and entertained people while she was in pain, and she was really young, now she's in a better position, plus she has Eja.
besides she can't stop singing 'You're Still The One'that's her signature song and the one most loved by people, even by people that aren't fans like us.

Excellent comments by all. I know of a couple who homeschooled their 3 children and now they are at University and are doing fine. Either way it will be one of the most important decisions Shania will make (I am assuming Shania will get custody of Eja). Hopefully Mutt could pitch in and help while Shania is on tour. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens.

Professional in a sense, but something like "You're Still The One" which is her signature song yet had so much meaning about her and Mutt's relationship. Gosh, it's so hard to comprehend.

I think the first few times through certain songs will emote some very strong feelings for her. But then after awhile the repetition alone with soften some of the edges. New endeavours will soften some more. Time will soften even more.
Is that to say she won't equate some of those songs with people, places, or things?
Probably not, and that's probably the way it should be. But like y'all said...
She's a consummate professional, she's gonna be just fine!  smile

In the end I think that's the bottom line.

I can only imagine how I would handle writing songs like YSTO and the others with my spouse, get divorced when you thought it was impossible, and then go back on the road and try to sing them with a smile. I guess I'm not that professional...

WOW.....My call...She will never release music to the same standards as with the magic with Mutt...Not even close....Her next tour will be a mini tour with 75 percent of the concert being a re run of the Up tour...so how could a new tour be better when it is the Up Tour(part 2) with a few new ones thrown in.. It will never be the same for her either...Bob

If you're buying into all that, then it seems like your one of those that thought she was a Mutt created phenomenon. The truth is he is a fine producer. However, one must first have the raw ingredients to work with in order to mix the magic.
Now let's backtrack a little. Shania was an accomplished singer/entertainer first at Deerhurst, before moving to Nashville to be signed by a major label. She was miraculously able to do that without his help then, and likewise there isn't any need for him now. There are plenty of other engineers and producers that can, and would make her sound awesome. But as I've stated earlier, my vote is for her to do it mainly herself. She knows the sound that she's looking for, so who better to be behind the board than her right? Right!
And OMG are you kidding me about the next tour or what?
You say; " Her next tour will be a mini tour with 75 percent of the concert being a re run of the Up tour"
Did you happen to forget that the two CD's before UP each sold 10 MILLION?
Plus this next CD is gonna be HOT... you'll see!!
And her concerts are always the best!!
So please, leave front row for me! :)

I have to agree with Landsharkk here. Shania's a huge talent. Mutt is a fine producer but he has not had any hits lately. (Bryan Adams cd did not do well). Mutt has had the most success with Shania in his career and that is because she is a huge talent on her own. My gut tells me she has learned a lot about producing an album. When she meets up with her next producer she will be ready....like Landsharkk said she will probably have a good idea on what she wants her songs to sound like. I personally cannot wait for the next cd and tour. She is an artist and she needs her music to work thru the emotions she has been feeling lately. I have no doubt her next cd will be great and so will her tour as well be great.

Her CD will be a challenge, especially if she's aiming for a Fall release as that's when album sales are normally higher. I would like it to be this year.

Excellent post landsharkk and a fine follow up lulu.

That's the problem apparently, Shania knew what she wanted with this next album and Mutt saw something else. I'm sure no one is better at knowing what she is looking for then her at this point. She will do a great job. This maybe her best work to date. Can't wait.

OH NO....My last hope..Not you Lulu..Don't become dillusional on me...Guys start thinking with you brains and not your hearts...We all want it to be that way but the hay days are over..Can she still make great music??...Rep  BUT..Come on folks...The sales will be a disappointment...Not her fault..Free downloads...You can listen or laugh..Bottom line is talk to ANYONE that understands what is going on today...The money is in TOURS...Not CD's.. So..Your take is she is going to produce the same love songs as with Mutt..HELLO...Her tour ,as I have said before wii be so small compared to UP that is not even on the same scale..The tour will be what the world saw years ago with a few off the new CD...Been there...Done that...AND thats if we ever see a CD..I know she said it in her message..She also said years ago that she might go away from performing and become a song writer for others but then in other interviews said that she feels you pretty much need to write your own music to attain the connection with a song...She talks out of both sides of her mouth...Why...Not to be misleading...She is LOST..How about the recent interview where she said  how much difficulty she is having dealing with her success... She is older, much more sad about life, already a huge success, has a child that will soon be entering the influential years, not Mutt...AND...It is going to be bigger and better than ever...RIGHT... WRONG...But I wish you were right..This is NOT anti Shania fingers typing..It is a realist...Bob

She's had her strains with fame but this is a different situation. No more Mutt isolationism. I bet she will become eager to come back and share with the world. This woman is not just ready yet to sit back and only write for other singers. She has so much of herself yet to give. And no, she will not sell 20 million like COO or even 12 million like TWIM, but it will be multiplatinum and do very well in the current music environment with downloads and all that. Still not sure what radio will do with it and whether how country or pop it will all be. With UP and GHs her radio play has become sort of mediocre, but I have my negative opinions of radio anyway and I'll let it be at that. Shania will do just fine standing on her own. The only little side note I have is the thought of having to sing Mutt collaborated love songs in concert, that would have to be mixed emotions, but I suppose we're saying here she is a "professional." Carry on dear Shania.

smileLovely post Joe,
i totally agree, shania was an excellent professional singing in Deerhurst, and things were harder, plus she had those other singers and dancers that always gossiping behind her back, and she was so young, now her spirit is stronger.
as for her next cd it will do good, especially if it's more country as most of the country fans don't download from the web, they are the ones that are still buying cd's and concert tickets.

I have to agree with 2nd Ammendment and Country gal here. I think Shania will come back strong. I think she will work thru the grieving of the loss of her marriage thru her music and will be itching to record her own songs and perform them again. When she lost her parents she worked thru the grief she felt by using music...performing in shows. She managed to get her whole family thru that difficult time. Now she has the advantage of having all the money in the world so there won't be the desparation that comes with needing a job badly like what happened after both her parents were killed. I believe she will come back stronger than ever and I really believe we will have a new cd out in 2009. I think it will be nice and healing for Shania to work with a different producer. The only thing I see holding her back is if a job sees Shania's touring as detrimental to Eja. I can't see that happening though. I also feel Shania and Mutt will work out their divorce behind the scenes. I would not be suprised to find out that that is what they are doing now.

Maybe Mutt will mind Eja when she's concert touring and/or going round different countries to promote the record (for Up! she went to USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, UK and Europe). Last time she took Eja on the road with her, but he's in school now, so it is very important for her no doubt to let him have normalcy and be with his friends in Switzerland.

I'm sure they have already worked out their divorce behind the scenes and I assume Shania will get sole custody of her son..

Disagreement with someone over an issue is no reason to classify that person as "Dillusional." Because if it was, wouldn't the other party have an equal right to classify you in the exact same way? Ponder that...
But anyway, among the many and perhaps the most outlandish things you say is, "She is LOST" - and - "She is older, much more sad about life."
Like how the hell would you know?
Did the same thing happen to you way back when?
Or maybe it's your, "Guru observational powers" while sitting there in Toronto.
You must have some sort of crazy-vibe thing going on there. You lucky dog!
Or, maybe your're like David Coppefield or something???
When is the next show? I wanna get there early.
For your first trick maybe you can see the glass as being half-FULL!
