Shania & family, Seinfeld check out The Betsy Hotel

Presidents’ Day weekend at The Betsy Hotel was a pretty stellar scene, with Shania Twain staying there and dining at BLT Steak with her husband, Frederic Thiebaud, and son Eja, and, separately, Jerry Seinfeld, lunching there (on Asian chicken salad and lemon rosemary chicken with spinach) with two male friends, in town, we’re told, for the boat show.

Meanwhile, Seinfeld’s former costar Jason Alexander threw a 93rd birthday bash for his mother, Ruth Greenspan, Tuesday night at Runyons in Coral Springs. Alexander had filet mignon and Alaskan king crab legs and entertained a party of 14.

Billy Joel had lunch Tuesday at The Standard with, says our spy, “two middle-30s blondes — not Uptown Girls — and a tall, fat guy. They had to leave because of the rain and probably because the women’s hair extensions would be ruined.” Joel did manage to eat, though, ordering a cabernet sauvignon and a mahi sandwich minus the bread.

TODAY show’s Natalie Morales and Savannah Guthrie joined barbecue aficionado Al Roker and his sous chefs while sipping bottles of Chandon during The Q, Thursday night’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival event at the Delano.

New York Giants Quarterback Eli Manning, whose brother Peyton was in town earlier in the week, was seen having a beer with a few friends in a poolside cabana Thursday night at the Delano Beach Club.

Paula Deen had dinner Tuesday and Wednesday night in the wine room at Council Oak steakhouse at Seminole Hard Rock. Deen, a gambling enthusiast, was with her husband, friends and business partners.

Celeb chef Geoffrey Zakarian, whose hailed restaurants include NYC’s The Lamb Club and The National, recorded an episode of his Sirius XM radio show Food Talk Friday afternoon at the James Royal Palm Hotel. Among the guests were Lee Schrager, Al Roker, Bobby Flay, Andrew Zimmern, Anne Burrell, Curtis Stone, Marc Murphy and Scott Conant.

NFL hall of famer Barry Sanders had dinner Tuesday with his family in the courtyard at Makoto at Bal Harbour Shops.

Kate Del Castillo, telenovela star and the star of the movie Redemption, had dinner with three friends Wednesday at The Forge.

Actress and voice-over performer Jenni Pulos, whose day job is executive assistant to real-estate speculator Jeff Lewis of Bravo’s Flipping Out fame, was seen at Kimpton’s EPIC Hotel, where she spent several days of R&R.

Timbaland spent some of his Monday night at FDR at the Delano, where he sipped on a Moscow Mule.

Project Runway All-Stars model and Miami Beach resident Uli Herzner was seen having dinner Wednesday at PB Steak.

She seems to be spotted everywhere but the Studio. What is going on is she recording a new Christmas Album ? I'll be happy with that but seems to be a issue somewhere. Her Vegas Shows are soon gonna stop selling if she does not release something to promote it! If no album is released this year then she is finished because she is losing her fan base. LIKE Tommy you run this page you have got to agree she ain't the Shania she once was. Agreed ?

 People change and even though I miss new music from her I can live my life just fine without new music from her.  Most of us who love Shania's music love music by many other artists and in other genres.  I do not agree with her Vegas decision but I am not in her shoes or living a life similar to hers.  She put out some wonderful music I will always treasure just as many other artists have done.  I am as hopeful as many of her fans she will put out more music, sooner or later.  In the meantime I have all the music in the world at my fingertips, which I enjoy.  I have never posted on any other artists' messageboards that I felt they were letting their fans down.  I guess Shania made such an impact on people they felt they owned a piece of her and felt like they could demand she do this or that to suit their individual whims and fancies.  Humans are kind of weird that way thinking they are entitled to tell others what to do and not to do.  Eh? LOL
