Here is the cover. Hopefully we will get some scans after the magazine comes out tomorrow.
EXCLUSIVE COVER STORY: As she returns to the spotlight in Las Vegas, SHANIA TWAIN invites Hello! into her harmonious life, offering a rare glimpse of her happy existence with her husband, son and “baby sister.” Plus, we've got 10 facts you probably don't know about Shania.
As Shania Twain returns to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace for Shania: Still the One, Hello! Online takes you behind-the-scenes of the singer’s life on centre stage. We bet you didn't know these ten facts about the beloved Canadian chanteuse:
1. Other than family, the thing Shania misses the most about Canada is nature. “I miss being in the middle of nowhere, with no sign of man anywhere,” she says, adding she’ll make the trek back home this winter to get her fill of the snow. “There isn’t a bad season in Canada. Not where I’m from anyway.”
2. A rose by any other name! Shania’s birth name is Eileen Edwards. (Her friends still call her Eileen). She adopted her stepfather Jerry’s last name “Twain” after her father, Clarence Edwards, and mother Sharon, divorced. The name “Shania” was inspired from a woman who once worked in wardrobe on one of her many gigs. It means “on my way” in Ojibwa. These days, Shania is clearly beyond being on her way! Here, the beauty arrives at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 19, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
3. Shania Twain hosted the 2003 Juno Awards in Ottawa in a glitzy Maple Leafs jersey, but she wasn't always in the spotlight. By eight years old, Shania was singing in nightclubs, but before she became a full-time musician she had many other odd jobs, including working at McDonald’s and running a tree-planting crew in northern Ontario.
4. In a studio session in London, 2002, the pop star promoted her new single "Gonna Getcha Good". But Shania’s roots are actually in rock and roll. She was in a local Timmins rock band called Longshot. They covered The Beatles, Pat Benatar, Journey and more. Later, she toured the east coast with the band, Flirt, and missed her high school prom in the process.
5. At first, Country Music Television reportedly refused to air the video for her first single, “What Made You Say That,” because she showed her midriff. Her second video made headlines too: “Dance With the One That Brought You” was directed by Sean Penn. Shania recalls that he gave her $100 just to help her through hard times before her album took off. Here, Shania poses with abs of steel at the 1995 Billboard Music Awards in 1995.
6. “I love everything about horses,” Shania writes in her autobiography, From This Moment On. “I am in awe of them.” But Shania was actually a late bloomer when it came to hopping into the saddle. She didn’t learn to ride until she was 12 when a school friend let her ride her own mare. Here, the international superstar translates her love of horses into a memorable arrival up the Las Vegas Strip to greet fans at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on November 14, 2012.
7. A sign of things to come? In her early 20s, Shania was in a Las Vegas style production called Viva Vegas at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, ON. Her parents had died in a car crash, so she was providing for her three younger siblings. Here, Shania performs during the debut of her residency show "Shania: Still the One" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on December 1, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
8. Canadian singer Shania Twain poses with her husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, after being honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in June 2, 2011. But did you know the couple has ski-dived together? “One day, someone said to me, 'Do you want to go jump out of an airplane?' " she says. “I felt like I had nothing to lose anymore, so I said, 'Why not?' And every day since then, I ask myself that question."
9. Shania never likes to know if a celebrity fan is in the audience of her show because she’ll get too nervous or distracted! “I just do my best all the time. And then after the show, they’ll come back and meet me and they’ll say hi and it’s a wonderful pleasant surprise.”
10. Whenever she feels down about herself, her husband reminds her she was voted Hello! Canada’s Most Beautiful Canadian in 2009. (She was also our 2012 cover girl.) Shania calls it part of his “research ammunition.”
Here are photos of the article Loonie Echo took with her i-phone. If you have glasses it might help wearing them to read the article. The interview was done on the phone so there aren't any new pictures.
