Well if she doesn't have new music out next year again then I doubt very much anyone will even care anymore.
Shania has burned too many bridges and lost friends in the industry who think Shania is not much of an aritst for the way she makes excuses for not making music
I remember I said in 2007 when it was clear she was going to have no music out again,I said she will have to have a really good excuse to not have music out again in 2008. And guess what? He seperation was announced. People are getting sick of the excuses. There is always some excuse. Real artists dont make   excuses, they create music.
Shania even said she didn't want to make music after 911 but Mutt convinced her to. Instead of wanting to make people happy with her music she didn't even want to make any at all. It really scares me that she  just is not an artist and doesn't like music.

I would expect her record label and management to drop her if she has no new music out next year. It doesn't matter how important she has been to the industry and her label. I would not want to be associated with a client who doesn't do anything for years.
I know Qprime is really upset at her for not doing anything and so is her label. They are giving her some grace after this breakup. But if there is no music  next year I expect Shania to retire because nobody is going to want to support an artist who doesn't feel interested in her own music or even care about what legacy she leaves.
I am being patient like I have for 5 years with all the excuses and personal problems and weird life style she lives.
And none of us expect new music this year either of course. But if 2009 rolls along and Shania is not in the recording studio in the early part of 2009 then I can see her label and others telling her to get serious about music or just retire.

Trust me Shania's label and management are really upset at her.
You need to look at other views out there and see how many people  really think Shania has taken advantage of the fans.
I am one of millions who  don't care for her excuses anymore.
And there are not tons of artists in their prime who decide to just rest on their laurels and not make music.
There may be some over the hill hasbeens doing that but no artist in their prime does that.

So I disagree with you 100%, there are many people who feel the way I do and that not only includes tons of fans who don't post on boards but her label and management. Either you get serious about your music and stop giving your fans the run around or just retire because nobody will care in the future.

actually a huge new concert wouldn't hurt at all,that's a fine idea.
although they'll be critics to say that she is doing this to not be forgoten and they will mock her,but her WHO CARES WHAT CRITICS SAY???

All artists do this their whole life from a young age. And it isn't work to them, it their passion.
Quite frankly Shania has taken many breaks in her  short 14 year recording career.I am just telling it as it is.
Look at Dolly, she writes 60 songs a month she said and she just wrote the whole musical to her broadway show in short time.She also did a European tour just recently and put out an album.Dolly is 60 years old and thats what an artist should want to be like.All talk and no action makes shania lose credibility with many.

I will give you a little story about how Shania is even losing her once good friend Reba because of her attitude and the way she stays so distant from that crowd Reba is in. Reba had a duet album of all her favorite artists and Shania was left off last year. Reba was asked if there was anyone who you wanted on the cd that wasn't on, she said no.
CMT also did the CMT giants show honoring Reba. All of the girls were there like Martina,Faith, Trisha yearwood and every country female you could mention was there to honor reba but Shania was the only one not there.
I guess Shania could make an exuse like she couldnt' make it like she does for everything else but this was huge for Reba and Shania didn't have the courtesy to even show up on her private jet or whatever for the evening.

And this is the most telling of all about how Shania and Reba's relationship has vanished over the last 6 years. About 3 weeks after Shania's marriage breakup and affair rumor, I was watching the half hour TMZ show on fox where they look for celebs and ask them questions.
They caught Reba at an airport and the first question they asked was,"HAVE YOU HEARD FROM SHANIA AND HOW IS SHE DOING"
Reba rolled her eyes and rudely said,"No, haven't heard from her and don't know how she is doing"
she said it in away as if why would I know how she is doing because Shania never contacts anyone of her socalled friends in Nashville.

I am just pointing out that Shania has lost respect of her peers too. And I bet behind  closed doors they are rolling their eyes and talking about how Shania plays the victim for sympathy. It goes beyond  jealousy with her peers. I think some of them think she is fake and puts an act on alot of the time.

I actually agree with many people here like countrygal, and some posts from kelc and some from twainlover.
And some agree with some of my points.
So maybe  you just can't have a civilized disagreement with other posters.
Because while I disagree with many opinions here, I still respect their opinion in the recent few weeks.
Maybe you should try and get along with me despite you not agreeing with some of my points.

The threads seem to be alive and well with people with different opinions.
What Tommy is saying is if you dont' like my opinion then don't post like Bob doesn't post and talks behind my back.If you want to play those games then go ahead but if you you can handle different opinions then engage in the thread. There are many great threads that are much better off with different point of views instead of one only.

I agree. I don't like 90% of what he says about Shania but I refuse to get into it with him. It's not worth it. At the end of the day it's not going to change his vviews, my views or your views.

Shania amazes all, all things considering.

I guess people ain't minding the "scent" of Shania, lol?

Sorry but you are wrong, there was never a new perfume to be released in 2008. She released one last year and they wait at least 2 years before they release the next one.
A couple of article were saying that a perfume was to be released but they were mistaken and were using the same info from last year.
Coty Inc.  was never going to release a new Shania perfume this year.
You should only listen to info or news put out by the perfume company not some old article rehasing old news from last  year.

Shania released Shania starlight in late 2007 and it was the #1 perfume launch in 2007. And her 2005 Shania by stetson was a block buster hit.
They always wait at least 2 years before they introduce another line of perfumes to the brand. So her last perfume was just last  year so they may be working on a new perfume for 2009 and hopefully it can be promote with a new cd. That was the plan all along when she started her perfume lines in 2005 but she hasn't put out any music. Coty was hoping that Shania would be active in her career to help sales even more with the perfume.
Lucky for Shania that the perfumes have done so well without her in the spotlight and putting out music.
But I would think the next time Coty has a new Shania perfume they want some new music from Shania so they can promote it together.

i'm going to buy at least 2 bottles of each when i get there

i hsve to agree with that, with all that is going on in shania's life it is unlikely there will be a fragrance launch. i am still waiting to hear if shsnia has picked a new producer yet
