Every week I see both Timmins and OPP police fly by me -- often in Community Safety Zones -- with no lights on and definitely not doing the speed limit. Who polices the police? Aren't they supposed to set the example?

Ironic how a new box store has a big truck driving around to advertise its opening. What a waste of fuel! And using "food" fuel or biodiesel as the website indicates. Are there not better plans for our future?

Strikers, have a look at your counterparts on the other side of the city. They're still out two years later and probably always will be. Did you know there is a smelter in Rouyn which is more than capable of doing your job?

Dalton Road is unbelievable. Overtaxed property owners deserve proper road maintenance. Bush roads are better than this so-called upgrade and waste of taxpayers' dollars. Numerous citizens voiced their concerns. Children's safety on school buses, past vehicle accidents, treacherous winter driving. Nice planning.

One thing that came out of the recent chamber debate rings true. If someone in Kenora pays the same for diapers or a coffee as we do in Timmins, why are we paying more for gas? Time for price controls.

It's time for school bus drivers to be held accountable. They're supposed to be carrying our most precious cargo and yet it seems it's a licence to race, run lights, turn when oncoming traffic poses a threat, etc. What is about "10 items or less" that is not clear to grocery store customers going through the express checkout?

I don't believe it. Native band and Native Affairs in a multi-million dollar dispute over cost overruns, governance, accountability, responsibility. Don't worry, politicians will scream, and taxpayers will again reward incompetence.

Fellow brothers and sisters on the picket line, this is a glimpse of our future. Every three years on strike. Don't we want and deserve better than this? It's time for a change. Stop the games, let's get back to work.

If the elected officials at city hall would like a hint on saving money, move the museum to the Shania Twain Centre, combining it with the Gold Mine Tour. At least there would be a little more traffic there.

Now our recycling is done in Sudbury. More jobs lost! Where are the politicians?

For the recent financial meltdown, don't blame lack of oversight or too much regulation. The cause is "moral hazard" by individuals in the financial industry. The next time you sit across from your financial advisor, remember who he serves first.

Modern day government and politicians of all stripes have little effect on our daily lives. Whether we have a loquacious local member or a passive, mute representative will have no effect on me.

I don't understand neighbours who are outside with their dogs and will let them bark continually. They aren't talking to you, they are running you.

So we will be represented federally by a fourth-party candidate again. Loyalty to your sports team is commendable, loyalty to a political party that has no hope of leading or being the official opposition cripples your region financially. Live with it!

Copper, nickel and zinc have lost 30 per cent of their market value in the past 30 days. Does the bargaining committee understand simple math?
