Some of you asked to see pics that I took in Shania's Motatapu Valley while I was holidaying in Wanaka. I thought I would start it as a new topic so it is seperate from the other one.
I must admit the pictures did not turn out as well as I had hoped and does not do the area justice. However, being so close to her house and being on her land was truely amazing and something special.
The photo of me standing next to the sign is at Shania's gate and the road continues up for a bit to her house. I could not see her house from there but it was just ontop of the ridge a few hundred yards away. I could see her house down Motatapu road a wee bit so I took the opportunity to take a photo of it. I have circled her house and the drive leading up to her house. I have also added a picture taken from the Motatapu track showing with an arrow where her house is situated ontop of the ridge beside the track.
The other pictures show Motatapu Road intersection and Mt Aspiring Road in Glendhu Bay aswell as the street sign.
I also added a picture in of the bridge just before her gate. The bridge is over the Motatapu Gorge River. This gorge has claimed a couple of lives in recent years in a result of people juming of the rocks into the water. However it is truely and amazing site to see!
Anyway, to me being able to visit the Motatapu Valley was something special and probably the closest il ever get to Shania Twain... Knowing that I have driven down the same road as her and all!
