This is the time of year I get very sentimental. I have always loved Christmas. Being together with my family.. thinking tender thoughts of those that are far away. And music has always been a big part of that. "A Country Christmas 2000" is a great CD of Christmas music sung by some of my favorite country music singers.
"I'll Be Home For Christmas," sung by Trisha Yearwood on this CD, has always been one of my favorite Christmas songs.
"I Only Want You For Christmas" is a great Honky Tonk Christmas song done by Alan Jackson. I do believe that there was a video out a few years ago which features Alan opening some humorous Christmas presents.
"God Bless The Child" sung by Shania Twain is definitely one of those songs that will be a classic in the years to come.
Who could forget the song "My Favorite Things" from the movie "The Sound Of Music?" Kenny Rogers does an awsome job of making it country for this album.
Everyone's favorite new singer, Billy Gilman does a great job singing the Bing Crosby classic "White Christmas."
My favorite song on the album is Leanne Womack's "The Nativity." It's about a child who wonders quietly what it would have been like to have been present the night Jesus was born.
"Old Toy Trains," the Roger Miller classic is sung very well by Toby Keith. It's a Christmas lullaby if you will.. about a child who on Christmas Eve is too excited to go to sleep.
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is sang by popular country music newcomer Alecia Elliott.
"Up On The Housetop" is a Honky Tonk version of the Christmas classic sung by Gary Allan.
