William Matthew (Billy) Currington (born November 19, 1973) in Savannah, Georgia.

Height 5´9

Weight 165 lbs

Birthday November 19, 1973

Sign Scorpio

He has four sisters (Lexie, Ann, Kim, and Kelly) and two brothers (Charles and Jason).

He was raised in the small town of Rincon, about 30 minutes from Savannah (located in Effingham County

When he was a year-and-a-half old, his mother married a man named Larry Currington. Life was not good during his early years, as his step-father had a substance abuse problem which caused constant turmoil to the families’ life. "He'd get drunk and a little crazy," Currington says. "He eventually died of drinking and cancer."

As fate would have it, Larry taught Billy about Country music, by playing country artists (such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, the Statler Brothers and Kenny Rogers) on the radio.

Other musical influences include Merle Haggard, George Strait, and Keith Whitley.

Currington had auditioned at Opryland USA theme park as a junior in high school but didn't make it. However, he moved to Nashville after high school to pursue a career in music. His first stint didn't last long, but he returned after paying his dues at a bar in Georgia. In Nashville, he worked for a concrete company and then part-time as a personal trainer. One of his clients led him to demo work and then writing songs. Shortly after his publisher chose not to renew his contract, he signed to Mercury Records.

His debut single, "Walk a Little Straighter," tells the story of a child watching his drunken father stumbling through the door and vowing not to make that same mistake when he becomes a father. (Currington wrote the chorus at age 12.) His self-titled album was released in 2003.

In 2004, label-mate Shania Twain asked Billy to join her on an upcoming single, "Party for Two.” Currington happily agreed, and also filmed the video with her, which featured them swinging from a chandelier. He parlayed his exposure into a successful second album, Doin' Somethin' Right, in 2005. The first single, "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right," reached No. 1 at country radio at the end of 2005.

2007 was a tough year
Halfway through 2007, Billy had to cancel his tour dates for the remainder of the year because of laryngitis. Then, later in the year, he underwent treatment for the abuse he suffered as a child.

Billy released "Tangled Up" in late 2007, but the song only peaked at No. 30. "Don't" was released in mid-2008 as the first single of his third album, and that song made it all the way to No. 2. Little Bit of Everythingwas released in October of 2008. which contains his latest single: 'People Are Crazy'.

In 2009, Currington joined Sugarland as their opening act on their Love on the Inside Tour.
Currington has released three studio albums for the label: 2003's Billy Currington, 2005's Doin' Somethin' Right, and 2008's Little Bit of Everything. These three albums have produced seven singles for Currington on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the Number One hits "Must Be Doin' Somethin' Right", "Good Directions" and "People Are Crazy". He has also charted as a duet partner on Shania Twain's "Party for Two" and the non-album single "Tangled Up" for a total of nine Top 40 country hits.
