Sounds like Shania already shot another video for a song called "I Am Only Just Looking." Could be the lead single for her new album!

It's funny how we always find stuff out through off-the-wall miscellaneous articles and websites!

So true! I was thinking the same thing. I hope we'll hear something about this very soon. And most of all... I hope it's true. Even though I think it is. No need to make up something like that.

I agree! This is pretty exciting. When do you think we'll hear something about this?

I just bought the Endless Love CD. It's definetly not the recording she did on the show. Good though.

Shania's management and Mercury Nashville never say anything about something until it has already happened.

Tommy, one thing I did notice in that link you had earlier about where it said Paul Boyd had worked with Shania on a previous project, the website didn't put I Am Only Just Looking in quotations. I thought that was odd.

Hey everyone! I'm new, but I've been stalking the forum for a long time. Anyway, just wanted to add my 2 cents.

I honestly don't expect much for Endless Love in radio airplay or iTunes chart. I do think the video will be a moderate success on CMT and/or GAC, especially if they can get a couple of performances in (award shows or Richie's Vegas gig). I'd really like to see her promo this single hard, then release another one from her own album and promo it just as hard, then release the album. Regarding the mention of I Am Only Just Looking, the title sounds kind of awkward, but then again so did Today Is Your Day. Here's hoping it's a new song but I don't have very much faith in it. /shrug I'd like to see angry-Shan - I think she would sell records. XD

Adult Contemporary radio stations are usually referred to as Soft Rock/Pop. They usually play music from the 80s-today excluding hip hop, rap, hard rock & heavy metal. I'm sure there are AC stations in Canada. Here in Atlanta, our AC station is B98.5.

Lionel Richie, Shania Twain Take Fans Behind-the-Scenes of 'Endless Love' (VIDEO)

Posted Feb 15th 2012 5:20PM by Stephen L. Betts

Growing up in Tuskegee, Ala., Lionel Richie was immersed in country music. In an exclusive interview with The Boot, the legendary singer-songwriter recalled listening to the Grand Ole Opry, Dottie West, Conway Twitty and Buck Owens, among others. His high regard for Nashville and country musicians and artists led to making 'Tuskegee,' an album that pays tribute to the genre and its influence on him, and also afforded him the opportunity to collaborate with many of the performers he respects and admires. One such artist is Shania Twain, with whom he sings the iconic ballad, 'Endless Love,' a smash hit for him with Diana Ross in 1981. But at the same time, Shania's well-publicized medical issues called into question her ability to deliver a lead vocal on the classic tune. (Check out the exclusive in-studio video of their performance below.)

"Look, all artists are egotistical maniacs with inferiority complexes," Lionel told us with a laugh when asked about talking Shania into tackling the song. "We're great until we're alone. Once we're left alone, a little voice creeps in and says, 'I don't know if we can do that again.' When left alone too long, that little voice can talk us into madness. But what I had to do with Shania was just very simple. I said to her, 'We have something in common: we are both scared to death.' She said, 'But you're Lionel Richie!' And I said, 'But you're Shania Twain!' And in the middle of her paranoia, once she heard her own voice on that opening line, she loosened up. Greatness comes from fear. Fear can either shut us down and we go home, or we fight through it."

'Tuskegee' will be released March 27 and also includes guest appearances from Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Jennifer Nettles, Tim McGraw and more. Read our full interview with Lionel, along with the album's track list here.

How do you expect a single to do well when you hardly promote it ? The Music video if I am right will likely convince radio to play the song and people to buy it. The wonders of youtube today... Lets see if I am right ?

Lionel Richie Taking Country Album, Live Concert, Kenny Rogers to Home Shopping Network

February 16, 2012

By Marc Schneider, New York

The Home Shopping Network (HSN) is launching a live concert series on March 16, and they've enlisted Lionel Richie to help them kick it off. For the "Say You, Say Me" singer-songwriter, the first "HSN Live" concert is an opportune time and place to perform songs off his upcoming country album, "Tuskegee."

"I always say that when I write songs they are not just for New York and LA, they are for everyone between," Richie tells Billboard.com. "[HSN] is the perfect partner to help invite people into my life and into my home with this album Tuskegee."

Lionel Richie, 'Tuskegee': Album Preview

"Tuskegee," out March 26, is Richie's collection of duets with big names in country music performing many of his hits. One of those collaborators, Kenny Rogers, has been confirmed to join him on stage to perform "Lady" at the March 16 broadcast, which starts at 8 p.m. EST.

The event, titled "HSN LIVE Presents Lionel Richie sponsored by Cricket," will be preceded and followed by special programming on the network's Facebook page, including more performances by Richie and an interview with Rogers.

HSN has been a launching pad for several releases, ranging from Tony Bennett and Rod Stewart. Andy Sheldon, the network's EVP of Television and Executive Creative Director, said there's a history of great storytelling there, and that Richie fits the mold.

"Lionel Richie is one of the world's greatest songwriters/storytellers, with a repertoire of some of the world's most beloved songs," Sheldon said in an email exchange. "Our customers grew up listening to his music and know every lyric by heart, so having him kick off our first HSN LIVE concert series just made perfect sense."

The Grammy and Oscar-winning singer reveals "Tuskegee" could be the first in a series of genre albums, but that his love of country music should not come as a surprise to fans.

"Country music has always been a part of who I am and my writing," he says. "So yes, it's been apart of me as long as I can remember."

The project itself, which features Rascall Flatts ("Dancing on the Ceiling"), Shania Twain ("Endless Love") and Willie Nelson ("Easy"), began as a smaller project but quickly grew, Richie says.

"What started out as a three-week project turned into a nine-month journey," he noted. "The entire album was difficult because it's not as if everyone on the album is sitting around with nothing else on their schedule. In the end though, it was all worth it."

Starting today, fans can pre-order a special edition of "Tuskegee" on HSN's website.

What's up with two radio stations playing the song only ? I am in Canada and the single has not been released to radio at all. To understand this and I wan't Tommy to answer ? It sounds LIKE it's not the radio not wanting to play it but sounds like it has not been released and neither promoted at all so far. am I wrong ? They shoot a music video but what about promoting the song ? Like talk about lack of effort.

The song has been released to radio however it's up to radio stations whether or not they want to play it. Obviously the song does not fit well in stations' playlists along with the fact that the single has not been selling well. The biggest promotion a song can get is through radio. If it's not radio-friendly, stations aren't going to play it.

Shania's planned comeback doesn't seem to be doing so well. I could understand the low chart ratings with the Today song, but Endless Love seemed like it would turn things around for Shania. She doesn't sound the same without Mutt and this seems to be hurting her. Her new sound is fine by me, but once the public hears you sing in a certain style, they generally do not like change. I'm pretty open and know Shania is no longer in her 30s, and wants to sing more mature material and change her sound all together. But the radio programmers don't seem so receptive. I am starting to see why she signed up to perform in Vegas. You see artists submit a lot of material to their label before it gets approved. The finished product is a result of a lot of fine tuning.

I wouldn't doubt it if Shania submitted a bunch of her new songs to Luke Lewis and he shot her down. Perhaps she then realized, either through her manager's suggestion and/or her own judgment that the best thing to is recreate her heyday; and sing the oldies she and Mutt made together so that she can work again. I'm sure that her royalty checks and residuals for concerts and other appearances will not finance her lifestyle forever now that she is divorced from Mutt Lange. This explains her autobiography and the Oprah mini-series. It's all geared to re-establish Shania as an icon so that the public can overlook the elephant in the room, fill in the blank here. Shania's always been adept at using the media to her advantage, and this is no different.

If my logic seems off, consider the hottest celebrities of today. I don't see them going to do a residency in Las Vegas, write their memoirs and subsist on occasional TV appearances and have an honorable mention on a blue moon. I've been waiting for the big bang with Shania's comeback, and I now think Up! was the last of her golden years. I'm disappointed; I think I had too high of an expectation of Shania and should have paid more attention to her self-depreciating statements and consequent actions. Sometimes you just wanna cheer people on when they engage in this behavior, but there are times when a person is aware of their strengths and weaknesses.

I have no doubt Shania is talented, but it takes more than that to make hit records. There are far less talented singers than Shania that still have a strong music career, but they work that magic in the studio. But something similar happened to Mutt's productions post Shania. His 'Hands All Over' album by Maroon 5 was a flop by his standards; it only sold 529k worldwide. He fared better with Nickelback's Dark Horse at 5 mi. worldwide, but that's a fraction of what he sold with his Shania Twain productions. To his credit, Mutt produced Lady Gaga's You and I single which was a big hit. In conclusion, I think Mutt and Shania canceled each other out post divorce as neither have found the same kind of success as when they were together.

Its still early to know if Shania is going to have a great comeback or not, because she didn't get started yet.  Shania's album is not released yet and she going to perform concerts by the end of the year.  The Today single was not planned as a comeback, it was for the series.  Endless Love video should come out very soon and the single should in all the radio stations.  I emailed a few radio stations to play the song, but they said that they are going to play the single when the video comes out and when the promation starts.

I think the only one thats going to have many flops is Mutt.  Mutt is great at what he does, but he's made some bad choices.  When I read that Mutt is going to produce a Lady Gaga single, people were calling him the former Mr. Shania Twain and how much that that song is Shania type single.  That single did do well and didn't do like her other singles.  In some ways, he is in Shania's shadow, even though Mutt produced her albums and helped her become a music icon.

Its sad that they are never going to have that great working partnership again.  Its almost like the end of the Paul Mccartney and John Lennon songwriting partnership when the Beatles broke up.  They weren't speaking to each other after they split up even though they still cared for each other.

Endless love is a great song. Shania Twain was awesome, however the song has been a hit a few times already. Maybe its not Shania Twain the radio do not LIKE maybe the song is already a classic hit. As for a Shania Twain releasing a brand new album ? I am betting everything that we will see a fall release. Shania ain't dumb and releasing a new album in the fall will be huge a huge way for vegas sales. A single the summer or spring will likely be the case. Remember what way to sell Las Vegas Tickets then a brand new album full of songs. You all stop nagging and wait the Album is likely already done. LOVES Shania!

Its a lot of pressure with Mutt out of the picture.  Shania even said so herself in interviews.  Yes, Mutt didn't end up like Phil Spector and I hope he never gets in that kind of trouble.

Single Review: Lionel Richie featuring Shania Twain, “Endless Love”

by Ben Foster

February 11, 2012

Lionel Richie’s new country duets project, set for a March 27 release, sounds like the kind of thing that could either go very right (Jennifer Nettles, “Hello”) or very wrong (Rascal Flatts “Dancing On the Ceiling,” anyone?).  We get a taste of the new project with this re-working of Richie’s classic pop duet with Diana Ross, “Endless Love,” sung this time as a duet with Shania Twain.

First, the bad news:  It’s too long.  The first three minutes sound lovely, but the song reaches an overdramatic climax that goes on longer than it should.  Also, the pop-flavored backbeat sounds a bit gaudy – You get over it after a few listens, but the single would be better without it.  Still, the biggest problem is swelling production that attempts to lend drama to the performance, but instead beats the listener over the head with needless distraction.  The production problems are mostly confined to the final minute of the song, but they still lessen the song’s impact instead of adding to it.

Now the good news:  Though filling the shoes of Diana Ross is certainly no easy task, Twain acquits herself more than adequately.  Richie for his part still sounds great, but ultimately the star is Twain.  Twain’s performance is colored with a deep sense of longing, recalling the finest love ballads of her own hitmaking heyday, such as “Forever and For Always,” with the two voices melding together beautifully on the harmonies.

The song had so much going in its favor.  It’s extremely irritating that it’s bogged down by production that gets so stupidly loud and over-the-top.  It would have been better if the production had stayed completely out of the way, and given the two vocalists more room to sell the song with their fanstastic performances.  Overall, this is still an enjoyable duet, but considering they spend the latter part of the song just shouting to be heard, it does fall a degree short of reaching its full potential.

I wonder when we're going to get the music video! I hope we won't have to wait until the album is released. That would mean 26 more days!
