Country superstar Shania Twain has written a lot of country songs about relationships, but none compare to her own life story. The lovely singer stopped by The Grove to chat with "Extra's" Mario Lopez about how her life has turned out.
"It's very beautifully twisted," referring to her recent marriage to Fred Thiebaud, ex-husband of her best friend, the same best friend who had an affair with Twain's first husband, Robert John "Mutt" Lange. "I'm very grateful it's turned out the way it did."
Twain is promoting her new memoir, "From This Moment On," and says she was ready to talk about her personal life. "I've always been, like you said, guarded about it, so I just needed to go the other way and find a healthy balance of sharing." Can she ever forgive her ex-husband and former best friend? "I think understanding is a better word."
The singer is also excited about her new OWN show, "Why Not?" -- explaining how it came about. "I stopped touring because I was losing my voice, and I needed a break, so the series unravels all about me discovering what's wrong and what I have to do about it."
As for her hidden talents, Shania says she loves "to cook. Fred thinks I'm extremely talented. I do love to cook. Don't get me started."
Be sure to check out "Why Not?" on Sunday nights on OWN, and pick up a copy of Twain's memoir "From This Moment On," in bookstores now.
