Shania nominated to take Ice Bucket Challenge!

Not to be a downer but I hate this challenge, especially when celebrities are doing it. Like it's cool to raise awareness if you don't have the money to spend, but celebrities do have the money to donate to the cause and they still choose the ice bucket. (I've seen some that have done the ice bucket AND the money, and that's awesome.) We're solving the problem by dumping ice on our heads.

I love to see Shan do this though.

Awesome! Reba McEntire, Shania Twain Take the Ice Bucket Challenge [Watch]

Reba McEntire has officially accepted her numerous challenges! The iconic singer got wet for the Ice Bucket Challenge, as did Canadian songstress, Shania Twain, making for two fun videos we never thought we’d see.

McEntire stands in what appears to be her backyard, her red hair pulled back as she holds a trashcan full of ice cold water. She begins the video by introducing herself — as if she needs the introduction — saying she’s accepting the ALS challenge from Autumn McEntire, Brandy Clark and Wynonna Judd.

Before dumping the water all over herself, McEntire passed the challenge along to a few more ladies: Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson and Melissa Peterman.

“I’m challenging all you gals, alright?” the legend says before dumping the trashcan full of water all over herself. She adds, laughing, “I hope y’all are happy.”

Twain also made good on a challenge from Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson. In the video, the singer is seen standing on a balcony in black yoga pants and a grey hoodie as she accepts her challenge and passes it on to Pink, Lionel Richie and John Travolta. She keeps her sunglasses on and her long hair down for the Ice Bucket Challenge, squealing as the pours the contents of the big white bucket all over herself. The water just keeps coming, and Twain keeps gasping for air as the icy cold water hits her body. Watch below!

Just a random memory--I remember reading an article where Shan discussed doing an episode of CMT Crossroads and she said she was interested in doing the show with P!nk. Do you happen to know where that was from or if maybe I made it up?

I do remember Shania saying something like that. Just can't remember where it was. It's been a while. Maybe it will come to me.

yea she did mention that in an interview before. Maybe pink is just too cool a person to accept the ice bucket challenge lol Never did like her music or attitude or looks. That is just kevy's opinion.

Ditto here. Though I respect P!nk's talents (e.g. vocals, dancing and writing) there are things about her that I cannot get past. A few years ago, I watched a Behind the Music episode where she described the inspiration behind her stage name. She said that was the color of her labia. I wanted to think that she was joking, but judging by her ivory complexion and naturally blonde hair, this may very well be true. Though I am aware that "rock stars" are not the best role models for young people, that was TMI and pornographic. Maybe a white lie was called for here.

I have never seen P!nk associated with any charity. She's sung about being this hot-shot rock star. Whatever.

What I like most about Shania is that she transformed all of her negativity to create a positive and meaningful body of work. She could have written and sung songs about smoky bars, drunk relatives and empty pockets, all typical country themes and stuff that she experienced. Instead, she provided positive messages on relationships, love, acceptance and self-respect, something anyone can see themselves in and feel good about.

Don't expect P!nk to accept Shania's Ice Bucket Challenge. Her husband, Carey Hart, is against the pouring ice/ice water over your head part of it.

Cool it! While Hollywood has accepted the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in droves, uploading often-creative, LOL videos and nominating each other, Pamela Anderson and Carey Hart took to their social media pages to criticize the viral campaign, meant to raise funds for Lou Gehrig's disease research.

On Wednesday Aug. 20, Anderson, a longtime supporter of animal rights, posted a Facebook message criticizing ALS researchers for their research practices.

"Sorry, I can't bring myself to do your Ice bucket challenge," the post began. "I enjoy a good dare, It's always good to bring awareness - in fun, creative ways, I don't want to take away from that. I thought instead, I'd challenge ALS to stop animal testing."

The former Baywatch star, 47, then cited claims describing how animals are mistreated during medical experiments.

"Recent experiments funded by the ALS Association, mice had holes drilled into their skulls, were inflicted with crippling illnesses, and were forced to run on an inclined treadmill until they collapsed from exhaustion. Monkeys had chemicals injected into their brains and backs and were later killed and dissected."

Anderson backed her stance with a FDA statistic stating that 92 out of 100 drugs that succeed in animal trials fail once in the human trials.

"Trying to cure human diseases by relying on outdated and ineffective animal experiments isn’t only cruel—it’s a grave disservice to people who desperately need cures," she wrote.

She concluded her post by urging people to "find and support charities that never harm animals."

The next morning, on Thursday, Aug. 21, Hart similarly railed against those who have hopped on the ice bucket bandwagon.

"I went the contribution route. I figure ALS would rather have my money than see me wet," Pink's husband captioned a screenshot of his donation receipt to ALS. "I'll put the water towards washing my bike later!!"

Maybe pink's husband is too cool to have fun too lol i am sure most of the celebs gave money along with getting cold water poured on them. Now we know why pink never accepted lol As for pam Anderson all i can say is she used to be my favorite Baywatch girl lol

ALS patient Larry Machula issues ice bucket challenge

Calls out Celine Dion, Shania Twain and the Rolling Stones

A Saskatoon ALS patient is issuing an ambitious ice bucket challenge.

Larry Machula is in care at the Parkridge Centre in Saskatoon. He posted a three-minute video on YouTube where he challenges a range of celebrities to take the charity challenge.

"Mick, I waved to you at the Hotel Saskatchewan where you played at the city you said rhymed with fun," he said in the video.

Machula is referring to when the Rolling Stones played in Regina. He challenges each Stone by name – including retired bassist Bill Wyman – to get a bucket of ice water dumped on their heads.

He also called on singers Shania Twain and Celine Dion.

Machula backed up his words with action.

With the help of nurses, Machula had three buckets of ice water dumped over his own head. Each bucket had a separate letter – A, L and S.

Too cool a person? Seeing your avatar I could say the same about you. Pink is just not a hanger-on and that's exactly what I like about her. By the way Pink has been working on a new special project.
