CMAs 2014: Miranda Lambert Leads Nominations With 9 Nods

With nine nominations, singer Miranda Lambert tops the list of nominees for the 48th annual Country Music Association awards.
The awards were announced on Wednesday. Nominees in five of the awards' 12 categories were revealed earlier in the day on “Good Morning America.”
Lambert matched her own 2010 record for number of nominations in a year. This year she is nominated in categories including Female Vocalist of the Year as well as Entertainer of the Year, and in that latter category she’ll be up against Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, country music icon George Strait and her husband, Blake Shelton.
Among the other nominees this year are Dierks Bentley, who has five nominations, including for Male Entertainer of the Year and Music Video of the Year, and the Zac Brown Band, which is nominated in the Vocal Group of the Year category.
Up against Lambert in the Female Vocalist of the Year category are Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood. Up against Shelton in the Male Vocalist of the Year category are Bentley, Luke Bryan, Eric Church and Keith Urban.

The awards will be broadcast live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley will host the event.
