From ExciteEvents, a resale ticket (scalper) website:

Shania Twain Ready to Launch “Rock This Country Tour”

May 18, 2015

Country music’s bestselling female artist, Shania Twain will be making her long awaited return to the road, which will also be her last. The diva has called it one big afterparty and plans to go out with a bang. “Rock This Country Tour” will kick off on June 5 in Seattle and on popular demand has swelled from 48 to 67 shows. The summer trek will now end in October and the superstar has promised her fans rocking concerts.

Twain will continue to make new music though and her latest album will hit the shelves soon after the tour ends. Since the Grammy Award winning singer is returning to the stage after almost 11 years, fans can’t wait to attend her live concert. Shania has asked her countless fans to expect a different kind of show as it will be rock meets country event. It’s going to have a lot of edge and punch.

According to ExciteEvents, Shania Twain tickets sales are soaring at the moment. Several shows are quite high priced and even that hasn’t stopped the country lovers from buying tickets to her last tour. Her July 28 concert in Minneapolis is the most expensive one on the calendar and has an average tickets price of $466. Twain will wrap up the tour in October and her final shows will take place in Canada. Toronto event taking place on October 11 at the Target Center is the second most expensive show on the list and on ExciteEvents its average price is stated as $442.

JD was already booked for another artist who he has been working with for quite some time, before being approached for Shania's final tour. It also looks like Hardy will not join. He had said a few months ago that he is looking forward to spending time with his family. He has a toddler who is two or three. It will be interesting to see who else she is bringing on board.

SHANIA LOVES VEGAS: Superstar Shania Twain proved her love for Las Vegas returning to our city last week to start two weeks of rehearsals for her upcoming tour, which starts June 5 in Seattle and runs until Oct. 11 in Toronto.

She took time out Sunday night to return to her old home of two years in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace to watch Mariah Carey’s final show in her current debut run.

Also visiting Mariah were actor, producer and director Lee Daniels; Boyz II Men star Wanya Morris; actress Taraji P. Henson (“Empire”); and singer-songwriter Johnny Gill. Mariah returns here for nine more shows starting July 8 and again next Feb. 2.

Looks fine to me lol. You would rather her wear baggy sports sweaters of the team's arena she is playing in? lol Now that was so cheesy to play to the home crowd like that with a sweater of team she doesn't care about. It will be good if she wears something sexy and comfortable and stop trying too hard to kiss the crowds ass. lol

Summer 2015's 30 Hottest Tours

Everybody from the Rolling Stones to Taylor Swift is hitting the road. Here are our picks for this year's can't-miss shows

Rolling Stone | May 18, 2015

Shania Twain

Dates: June 5th-October 11th

Openers: Gavin DeGraw (U.S.), Wes Mack (Canada)

Why You Should Go: When Shania Twain's two-year run in Las Vegas concluded in December, the 49-year-old pop-country hitmaker knew her performing days were almost over. "I just feel like there are so many other things to do musically," says Twain. This summer, she'll bid farewell not in a casino theater but with the Rock This Country trek, which launches June 5th in Seattle. "I thought it would be more satisfying to end it on tour and not in a static environment," she continues, promising a show emphasizing the guitar-heavy country music she recorded with producer and then-husband Mutt Lange. "I want to focus more on the rock vibe and the punch and edge that the music naturally has. I'm going to stick to the hits and let the energy go and rock."

Tickets: $45-$151

I liked the jersey shtick but I also love those outfits. Very Cher but like classy Cher, not over-the-top Cher.

Also, finally bought my tickets for the Miami show! Floor seats, I think pretty close to the B-stage--American Airlines Arena doesn't let you pick your seat unfortunately. Also don't really want to drive downtown at that time of day and parking was almost $30 but I will brave the traffic.

Shania Twain finishes two weeks of rehearsals in Las Vegas ahead of final tour

By Robin Leach | May 28, 2015 | 5:04 p.m.

After two weeks of rehearsals here in Las Vegas, pop and country superstar Shania Twain is about to set off on her final road tour of 67 dates starting next Friday, June 5, and ending in Toronto in October.

I’ll catch up with her in San Diego in August and cannot wait to hear the final tour’s “Rock This Country” theme.

Although Shania says it’s a last live hurrah after her successful two-year residency at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace, she also says that she has major recording plans at the ready.

Her fifth album, the first since “Up” in 2002, will be recorded this fall now that she’s close to finishing the songwriting. She has originally hoped to record it during the Strip residency.

Shania credits the Las Vegas run in her Colosseum home with helping her get over the stress-induced vocal disorder that silenced her after the ugly divorce from producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, who ran away to marry her (ex-)best friend.

She says that she never used to warm up to go onstage but now needs 90 minutes to prepare her throat. She says that she’ll sing all of her hits on tour but focus on the rock side of their production with guitar-heavy instrumentals.

“It’s going to be visually exciting and very different from what we did in Las Vegas,” she said. “People will have never heard me this way before.”

One new song will be the rock version of “Party for Two” — her hit with Billy Currington, who headlines at Boulevard Pool in the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Friday night — that she‘s never performed live.

Another will be “Rock This Country” that she only performed here partly in an acoustic set. Shania says that she might try one or two of the new, self-penned album songs while out on tour.

When I heard Gavin DeGraw was opening, I hoped that meant he would join her for Party for Two. I'm so glad to see that made it set list.

Also, I like that said she might try out some of the new stuff but I'm not holding my breath. If anything, I expect Today Is Your Day but I'll okay if I don't ever hear that again.

What she should do is what Bryan Adams does with his song WHEN YOU'RE GONE. She should make it fun for the crowd and call somebody up each night to sing that song with her. Of course they have to know the song and not make a fool of themselves. lol

New Promo Pic! (different pose)

Shania Twain could share new music during PPL Center stop in Allentown

By Matt Smith | For lehighvalleylive.com | June 01, 2015 at 7:40 AM

Shania Twain Rock This Country Tour.JPG
The Lehigh Valley might be among one of the few stops to hear new material from Shania Twain during the Rock This Country tour date Oct. 2 at the PPL Center in Allentown.

Shania Twain kicks off her first North American tour in 11 years on Friday, and she brings with her a catalog of music that has gone on to sell more than 75 million albums.

That includes "Come On Over," released in 1997, which spawned six singles to reach the U.S. Billboard top 40 singles charts as it became the best-selling album released by a female artist.

It's quite an impressive musical legacy the 49-year-old singer has made for herself. But with her return to the large arenas on what she is calling her final tour, it will surely bring with it a demand for something new to fill the gap left since her last studio release, 2002's "Up!"

With a new album in the works, the Lehigh Valley might be among one of the few stops to hear some of that material during the Rock This Country tour when the final leg swings through Oct. 2 at the PPL Center in Allentown.

"I'm dying to do it," Twain said during a conference call with reporters. "If the album progresses quickly enough and the timing works out, then I might very well just put one or two songs in closer to the end of the tour. It would bum me out to not do some of those songs live."

The focus on writing and recording music is strong within the singer as she seems intent to put the touring life behind her once she takes this last opportunity to reunite with her fans.

"I miss making records, Twain says. "I haven't made enough records in my life and in my career. I've done a lot more live performing than I have recording."

Twain had hoped to have an album of new music completed before the start of the tour. But with the planning of tours and albums needing to happen far in advance, things didn't come together the way she had hoped.

"The timing of the tour was decided on not leaving too much of a gap from when my residency finished in December," Twain says. "At the same time, I was hoping that my album would be further along by the time I finished my residency. It was just one of those things where the timing didn't work out very well."

What this means is that Twain will be recording her new album while on tour.

"I'll have a very portable set-up and I just sing and record my vocals," Twain says. "It's how I do my demos and you can be electronically connected with your producer wherever they are. And the producers will come out to me as well while I'm touring and we'll just poke away at it like that. There's just various ways to do this now that is pretty efficient, very effective."

It will take efficiency to juggle the next five months of touring with recording what sounds like a large amount of material that's been gathering in the 13 years since the release of her last album. According to Twain, she has been writing music ever since.

"I never stopped writing, so I have been writing all the time," Twain says. "It's a creative outlet that I would do whether I was touring or not, or recording or not. Why I didn't record anything is primarily because my voice just wasn't there. I wasn't sure I was ever going to sing again. So I was writing music but I didn't know what to do with it."

The uncertainty in her voice references her battle with vocal dysphonia, which is not a singing condition but an impairment in the ability to produce voice sounds using the vocal organs.

Twain's voice has recovered through years of therapy and was put to the test during a two-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. That gig wrapped up in December.

There are still many unknowns as to what Shania Twain will produce musically as she approaches songwriting and recording on her own for the first time. Her last three albums were all headed by producer and ex-husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange -- and all went on to sell 10 million units in the United States.

"I'm leaning towards wanting the music to sound more organic than my previous stuff," Twain says. "Less slick maybe in that sense -- a really live feel to things and with a contemporary edge to everything."

One thing for sure, there will be a more personal touch to her new album whenever it comes out.

"I think there are going to be a lot of unexpected elements to the music for sure because I am writing it all myself," Twain says. "Lyrically, I'm still doing the self-reflection and writing in that vein. I'm just different now and I've lived a lot of different things since then, so the stories and the themes will be obviously different and will reflect how I've evolved.

"It's a very personalized songwriting and therapeutic process for me. I'm pouring my heart out in the music."

Uh oh... The Garth shows in Tampa this weekend were cancelled. (That's frustrating because I waited to buy Shan tickets until after I bought Garth tickets -- I might have gotten better seats if I didn't wait but whatever.) Plus the first time I saw Shan in 2004, the show was rescheduled from April to July. Knowing my luck the Miami Shan show will get rescheduled too, but let's hope for the best.

Also, didn't she record Up "on the road" - traveling around Europe and the Caribbean and stuff? I'm interested to see who the new producer is.

Q&A: Canadian singer Wes Mack thrilled to open for Shania Twain on last tour

By Nick Patch, The Canadian Press | June 3, 2015 at 6:01 AM

TORONTO - For Wes Mack, the realization that he was opening for Shania Twain seemed to strike in stages.

One morning, the Calgary-raised country singer awoke to an increasingly urgent series of texts from his agent: he would accompany Twain on a portion of her final arena tour, beginning Friday in Seattle and whisking through nine Canadian cities, wrapping June 28 in Montreal.

The first revelation was seeing the tour poster with his name on it. Next was seeing that same poster in billboard form.

Finally, he was in the crowd at an Eric Church gig in his adopted home of Vancouver, and Mack realized he was less than two months from performing on the same Rogers Arena stage.

"In the back of my head, I don't even really still buy it," said a cheerful Mack in a recent telephone interview.

"It won't really hit home until I walk into the building — because it does still seem very far-fetched.

"She's a calibre of artist where she could probably call 99 per cent of the artists in the world and ask if they would want to open for her and she'd get a yes.

"It's fairly inconceivable that they've chosen me."

Mack's entertaining career began in acting, with recurring roles on CBC's "Heartland" and the U.S. hit "Smallville" (in both cases he was billed as Wesley MacInnes).

Since shifting his attention to music he's scored two Top 10s on the Canadian country chart in "Duet" and "Before You Drive Me Crazy," both of which are included on his self-titled EP that came out this week.

CP: You direct your own videos. What's the challenge of that?

Mack: In my ideal world I'm not directing and being the artist at the same time.

The main challenge for me is when I've directed, I've also produced, written, edited and, in some cases, colour-corrected. Me being a bit of a control freak and refusing to delegate things, somewhat to my own detriment — I've been happy with the results, but it's dominated my time and energy.

CP: You moved from Calgary to Vancouver at age 18. Is Vancouver hospitable to country music?

Mack: It's an interesting difference. Vancouver has collided with so many of its suburbs ... and I find a lot of those outlying areas are far more into country than central Vancouver.

I've been pleasantly surprised, though. I wouldn't have assumed Vancouver had a huge amount of country music, but I remember opening for Florida Georgia Line here and I've never played to a louder crowd — it was a Friday night in downtown Vancouver.

CP: Do you plan to juggle acting and music?

Mack: Ultimately I got into music before I got into acting. It wouldn't seem that way because I probably enjoyed more success as an actor early on, but I've been playing in a band since I was 13 years old, started playing guitar when I was like 11, started playing drums at five. I didn't get into acting until I was 20 or something like that.

I've very much enjoyed the career I've had as an actor, and I certainly hope at some point in the future to return to that, but ultimately right now I'm a musician and I'm doing what I want to be doing.

I simply don't have time (to do both). From a scheduling perspective, it's a bit of a nightmare.

Shania: After a long, long wait for a tour, her avid fan base and Twain shall meet

By Dana Gee, The Province | June 3, 2015 10:50 AM

Every time someone (or me, for that matter) says, “Man,” I automatically pause and then utter, “I feel like a woman.”

That, my friends, is the power of a catchy tune.

And catchy tunes are the stock and trade of Timmins, Ontario’s favourite gal, Shania Twain.

Her 1995 album The Woman in Me and 1997’s Come on Over were hit machines that will surely supply the lion’s share of her sets when she takes to the Rogers Arena stage on June 7 and 9.

Twain, who kicks off her Rock This Country Tour (her first in well over a decade) on June 5 in Seattle, took the idea of “crossover artist” to a whole new level, uniting good ol’ boys and gay guys in their love for the stunning brunette with the big voice and even bigger smile.

With record sales in the 75-million range, the singer-songwriter is one of the biggest-selling artists of all time. Those numbers also scored her the title of the best-selling female country act ever.

Her success is stunning and far-reaching and has been rewarded with awards of all descriptions.

So powerful is her success that recently a McDonald’s shareholder used it to extol the virtues of keeping the minimum wage, well, at a minimum.

Yes, according to the group ThinkProgress, some unidentified man stood up at the company’s annual meeting in mid-May and explained that if the minimum wage had been a livable one (I added the “livable” part), then Twain and a couple of other high-profile former McDonald’s employees would have happily spent the rest of their working lives saying, “Would you like fries with that?”

So, thank you, McDonald’s. Without your salary structure, there would never have been those videos (two words: leopard bodysuit) or the song, From This Moment On, which would have left brides and grooms everywhere standing on the dance floor and staring awkwardly at each other.

There is no denying the bottom-line success of Shania. She is a talented singer-songwriter with a symmetrical face (English study says her kisser is perfect). Plus, she’s Canadian. We love our own. In fact, we love our own so much that if you said the names Alex Trebek, William Shatner or Joni Mitchell out loud, people within earshot would all say “Canadian.”

But even more compelling than Twain’s Canuckness is the fact that Canadians love a good underdog, and Twain fits that bill better than she fit the bedazzled Habs … er, um … jersey outfit she wore while hosting the 2003 Juno Awards.

Back when she was still Eilleen Regina Edwards, Twain and her siblings, mom and stepdad, barely eked out an existence.

Money was tight. The lore of Twain includes her singing in bars at the age of eight to help earn some extra cash for the family.

She sang on The Tommy Hunter Show when she was 13. From there, she fronted cover bands and did solo work. But her dreams were nearly shattered when her parents were killed in a car crash, forcing Twain to take over the role of guardian to her younger siblings.

Once they were old enough to look after themselves, it was full-steam ahead again for Twain. Nashville was the destination. It’s there that she met Mutt Lange, who became her collaborator in music and life. They married in 1993, then split up in 2008 when it came out that Lange was having an affair with Twain’s best friend, adding more empathy.

She went underground after the divorce. Then she married the guy who was married to the best friend who had hooked up with Lange. Yes, you read that right.

So with all that weird drama, getting on a stage was the last thing she wanted to do. But then Oprah showed up and said, “Come on, Shania, let’s put on a show!” ... or something like that.

So we got the 2011 soul-baring reality TV show Why Not? With Shania Twain, for the OWN network. I felt bad for her again.

After the series, Twain seemed to regain her footing and she made more public appearances. There was American Idol and the CMA awards, and then she did what all self-respecting heritage acts do these days: Took up a residency in Las Vegas.

I did not see the Colosseum at Caesars Palace show live, but I did see the ABC-TV special. It made me cringe. Weirdly, despite all the sets and shiny cowboy hats, it came off as a cheesy Hee Haw. I know, a cheesy Hee Haw. Insert more empathy here.

Now she’s hitting the road on a tour which started with 48 dates and just got bumped up to 67. The people, it seems, want them some Shania.

Now that does impress me much.

A new record is expected after the tour, which has been rumoured as her last.

No word if it is a Cher “farewell” tour, but even if it is, we will forgive her. After all, we’re Canadians.

Shania Twain at Rogers Arena - Vancouver

by Staff on June 3rd, 2015 at 9:58 AM

It says something about Shania Twain’s status in the music world that even though she hasn’t released an album of all-new material since 2002, the pride of Timmins, Ontario, is still headlining arena shows.

Twain is a bona fide pop icon—the best-selling female artist in the history of country music and a major influence on everyone from Lady Antebellum to Taylor Swift. In fact, Swift probably owes her entire career to Twain, whose chart success in the ’90s practically obliterated the line separating country from pop. Unsurprisingly, Swift has cited the “Come on Over” singer as “the reason I wanted to do this in the first place”.

Given that endorsement, you can expect to see a whole new generation of fans in attendance when Twain plays Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Sunday and Tuesday (June 7 and 9). Here’s hoping, though, that certain older fans opt to stay home, namely the loogans who ruined Mike Usinger’s night at the former GM Place back in 1998 by screeching things like “Show us your ass” and “I wanna see your pie, Shania” every time there was a quiet moment.

Ok, before the official ones, what songs do you hope Shania will add to the setlist, other than the ones she did in Vegas?
We already know about Party For Two, so these are mine:

Forever And For Always
She's Not Just a Pretty Face
Don't

no more Quitter I hope. It has never been one of my favourite

Shania Twain Launches Farewell Tour Tonight: "It'll Be a Kickin' Show"

ABC News Radio | June 5, 2015

Shania Twain spent several years headlining in Las Vegas with her show Shania: Still the One, but starting tonight in Seattle, she's bringing her music directly to the fans with her Rock This Country tour.  It's her first major trek in 11 years, but she says it'll also be her last. "It's my sort of personal way to say goodbye," Shania tells ABC Radio.

Shania says that the Rock This Country tour -- named after a track on her 1997 album, Come On Over -- will be very different from her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.  "It’s really gonna be a kickin’, more of a rockier edge show," she tells ABC Radio. "A rock energy, just a lot of bells and whistles and more of a party atmosphere, really."

"You know, the show in Las Vegas was more glamorous, more theatrical," she adds. "I had horses on stage, for example, [a] flying motorcycle, a lot of things. I just took advantage of the environment, whereas on a touring, traveling stage, it just has to be a different type of production. But I still want it to be as 'wow.'"

Shania says one of the things that made her want to hit the road one more time was her desire to reach more fans than she could just staying in one place, which is what she was doing in Vegas.

"I love the fans. I love being with the fans in the audience. I love connecting with them," she explains. "And, you know, taking a show to them is the only real way to get to a lot of the people that I otherwise wouldn’t be able to see."

"It's my sort of personal way to say goodbye from the stage, by taking the show on the road to them," she adds.

But Shania isn't retiring -- she's working on her first new album since 2002's Up!. She tells USA Today that she's written plenty of new songs -- enough for two albums -- and plans to record her vocals on the road, since she'll be singing every day anyway and her voice will be all warmed up.  Her goal, she says, is to at least have a new single out by the time she turns 50, on August 28.

Here are Shania's tour dates; her opening acts include Wes Mack and Gavin DeGraw:

 i have a feeling we'll hear "don't!"

i've had the pleasure of meeting shania, and in that time i made sure to ask something i always wanted to know and that's: which non-singles are her favorites? she told me "waiter!" "jealous" and "don't!"

i guess she forgot "don't!" was a single. but the fact that it was a single, is moderately known, is something fresh compared to vegas, plus her promise to not leave out the ballads, AND it being a personal favorite leads me to think it'll be included on the setlist. for what it's worth, i also think "waiter!" would fit the show and be cool to hear live.

I don't think we'll hear "Jealous", "Waiter" and "Don't".
She said she'll stick with the hits and these songs hadn't been hits, not even singles except "Don't!", but it barely hit the charts... Even Shania doesn't remember it was a single. :D

I hope Forever and For Always makes the set list, and I would be interested in hearing the full version of Woman In Me live. I would love to hear Jealous and When You Kiss Me, but Jealous wasn't a single and WYKM wasn't a hit (although it did chart on Billboard despite never being released as a single in the US). I don't really need Rock This Country or Impress Me Much or Come On Over in my life again, but I'm sure all three of those will be in the show, haha.
