Just read this on Facebook:

HUGE disappointment!!!!! We paid $1800 (my hubby and I) for the VIP Ultimate Experience in Winnipeg this past Monday. What a waste of money!!! We waited in the party room for her to appear. We were told, no pictures and no autographs. Said they would take one picture of us, but it was in groups of 10. She appeared and stayed for a whole five minutes. Very unpersonable and not interested at all in any of her fans!!! She had a black baseball cap on, sunglasses, and scraggly blonde hair. Looked like she rolled out of bed. Did not say hi...just came in, posed with three groups and I had to get her attention and ask her if we could shake her hand. Had a smirk and said, sure. Everyone in the room was ticked off!!! Boo to you Shania!!!! We feel so different towards you now. We save up our hard earned money to "meet" you and you could care less about us. Shame on you!!!!!! **dislike**

Too bad.... And now they wonder why no one buys those packages. I mean, it only takes a few minutes to please the fans, and if you don't want to, sell different packages. Maybe she just had a down day, maybe it's not her idea in the first place... But I feel sorry for those people (if this is true).
But I also know that some people are just always complaining. About everything! So I'm not sure what to make of this. But I'd never buy a package like that. Can't afford it, and if I could I would find a better cause for the money ;) . I'm not paying 1800 dollars to see her for a split second and touch her hand. It kinda makes me feel like she's a monkey in a zoo, and if you pay top dollar you can pet them...

We don't know the real story and i am sure this person exaggerated about lots of stuff. Just the fact she also complained how she was dressed makes me wonder, Also Shania could of be having a bad day. i don't actually believe she doesn't care at all about her fans but i am sure it can seem that way sometimes. Let me say i am big Shania fan and would not pay that much money to touch her or say hi for a second lol lol And i have the money and could afford it. I would put my money to better use. The only way i would do that is if every single penny went to a good charity.

I don't really buy it either... After all these years why would Shania all of a sudden act so differently towards her fans.... and like Kevy said.. she may have been having a bad day.. she's only human...but I still don't think it would be as bad as this person made it out to be...

I've heard more stories like this. Not this negative though, but the people felt like they overpaid in Vegas too. So I guess there is a truth in this, but I also think it's exaggerated...

:/ That's unfortunate. I hope it's a bit exaggerated. But, in my opinion, whoever wrote the VIP descriptions didn't do a great job. I didn't feel compelled to buy one because it was pretty obvious there wasn't going to be any Shanteraction.

Hi,

It's true we don't know the whole story but even so if you are in the profession that she is and people have paid that much money to interact with her then you should put on your big girl panties and suck it up and do what needs to be done.  I deal with the public every day and sometimes I feel like being an a** but I don't because I am getting paid to provide a service to them.  They are paying my salary so whether or not I am having a bad day has nothing to do with it.  I can't allow my feelings to affect how I treat my "customers" or eventually I won't have any customers which leads to no job and no salary.  Just saying she's a grown woman and as long as she has been doing this should know that she has to "fake it" when in public sometimes.  She's the one who has been doing all the press about how this is a party and she wants a rock'n' roll vibe to the whole experience so she should know that there are going to be days when she feels like sh** but she still has to do her job.  Some people who have paid for this experience have waited a lifetime to meet her and she needs to realize that and respect people by doing the right thing.  She did not have to do this last tour and she has made it out like the whole reason for it is the fans and meeting them and spending time with them so she needs to wake up and put her money where her mouth is and show the fans all the love and respect she has led us to believe that this tour is all about.

Just my opinion

Warmest regards as always,

Tonto

Hey guys. Update on the vip experience. Truly, if you're doing it just to meet Shania you will be probably disappointed. Soundcheck was the band then shania for one song then pictures in groups of ten people. I did manage to say a few words to her and then get a handshake and a few words back from her. But she was sitting up on the stage so all slightly awkward. The party was alot of fun, the food amazing and the free alcohol a nice perk. Having been able to take to the concert with as well. The seats and the concert were phenomenal. Shania performed flawlessly.

i agree that these accounts have to be grossly exaggerated. any of us can only imagine the awkwardness of walking into a space where you don't know anyone yet each and every one of them know everything about you. i'm not saying that's an excuse to be impersonal--and i don't believe she was, i think people expect too much. don't enter a meet and greet expecting a long, familiar conversation with shania; nor should you expect to find in shania a new, everlasting friendship. that's putting unrealistic expectations on her or any artist. i think as fans we should be grateful that she allows us the intimate glimpse, should we choose to pay for it.

also, i just reviewed the vip package details--it's not even billed as a meet and greet. it specifically says: soundcheck, includes a special appearance by shania twain. one group photograph. vip tickets are more about the experience--the preferred parking, the best seats, the open bar, the catered food, the exclusive merchandise, the souvenirs, etc… none of which appeals to me, but to each his own :)

Well I have to say that after watching all the Vegas stuff I wrongly assumed that she would do a meet and greet type thing as in mingling with the paying customers because I thought that's how it all worked in Vegas. Kind of a big downer to find out that it's not going to be even close to that. But at least I can say I got close enough to get a picture with her.

This is a different story. If these are the details of the package the people just misunderstood, and they got exactly what they paid for. I still think the price is ridiculous, but they could have known what tot expect and choose to overpay ;) .

I had the same thing with the Dixie Chicks tickets I bought this week. There were front row gold tickets, for 260 Euro's. So that would be front row obviously. The Gold Hot tickets, were like also over 200 euro's, and they would seat you second row. I bought regular tickets, best seats available, and I also got seated second row. I paid 260 euro's for 3 tickets. So it's a matter of doing some good reading, and checking things out before you purchase a ticket.

(Ok, the hot gold tickets did include some merchandise stuff, but I seriously doubt if that's worth 200 bucks....)

Hi,

Just reading this post again and thinking if you are going to a pre concert event with the artist it is only natural to assume that the artist will be signing autographs and posing with fans for pictures.  So she shows up and has her people tell fans no pics and no autographs.  That's just not right or what I expected at all.  Total opposite of what I was led to believe.

Just my thoughts,

Warmest regards as always,

Tonto

But the quote in my previous post says that they only mentioned one group photo. So if that's on the website it's quite obvious that you can't take any more photo's and won't get an autograph. It's all a matter of proper reading before you buy.
I understand people are not satisfied after this 'meet and greet' but they could have known.

Hi,
Just read the interview posted and couldn't help comparing these two items. What a contradiction in expectations!!! I mean people who pay the money to have the experience and then to be so disappointed. I do realize that she was speaking of Las Vegas in the first part of the quote but still she says she loves seeing the people and touching them.

Shania Twain: "The audiences there were very close to the stage," she says. "That’s one of the luxuries I enjoyed, because I love seeing people up close and to touch the people and mingle with them. It was really cool to be able to do so much of that there … It’s something I’m going to take with me on the tour, even though it won’t be as easy to do because of the scale of the rooms and so on. That’s been built into the production, to be able to do that."

Would still love to hear more about the VIP experiences to see if all are like this or if this is just one bad day!!

Warmest regards as always,
Tonto

First of all I seen the difference between her show in Saskatoon & her show the next night in Winnipeg as well as videos from the shows before Saskatoon & I do think something was off, maybe sick or something :/ but I honestly don't believe she "wan't interested". When I met her at the Calgary after party last summer she was awesome & took time for everyone including the creepy guy that Fred was getting mad at.
Also, read the description! It says group photo. And since this is all done before the show there are time limits which means if she starts talking to every single person & signing autographs there will be people who don't understand this & will take up everyone else's time getting a dozen things signed for everyone they know, wanting selfies & then wanting to tell her a bunch of stories & ask a million questions. This is why I yelled at an entire line of people waiting to meet Danai Gurira lol this really is what happens & I still want to go the Ultimate VIP package in Regina in October

First time poster here, Greetings.

I'm a big fan. 26 concerts and counting. I did the meet & greet in Vegas. Frankly I got more time shaking hands with the President than I did face time with our girl. It was quick and it was clear that she did not want to be there one second longer than absolutely necessary. Polite but ... distracted. Now I wasn't expecting a deep conversation over coffee but any quicker and it would have been a bum rush.

I get it. She's tired, everyone wants a minute and there are a lot of loons out there. Hey, we've all been trapped in conversations we just want someone, anyone, to rescue us from. And she has people to do that. But at $800 bucks a pop that's good money for her time (granted she doesn't see all of it.) My unsolicited advice to her, if your going to be in the room, be in the room. Look people in the eye.

That having been said, I'm glad I did it. I always wanted to meet her and now I have. Would I do it again? No. But if you want to meet her, go for it! Just have the right expectations.

Hope this review helps.

Ok. I read all of this.

I paid 1200$ for the Queen of Me VIP package where there is a group photo and you get to go onstage for a song as some of the perks.

It has been my dream to meet her, but I do know that she gets awkward towards people. The best thing to do, IMO, is to ask.

Of course, I would love to have the perfect moment just like in the movies where we get to talk for like 10 minutes... i know this will not happen.

I have done a few M&G/VIP experiences for other artists and it depends om the artists and management.

Thanks for reading :)
