I agree. It's her house. Especially at 0:52 we can see the room which is also in the picture you mentioned. I wonder why she decided to sell it. I thought she loved the place.

There is high crime rate there. Lot of robberies with murders. Both US and Canada have posted caution to people going there

When Shania Twain wants to get away from it all, she does it in impeccable style. She and her husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, own a spectacular waterfront mansion in the Bahamas that offers plenty of time away from prying eyes.

The couple's 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 7,000-square-foot mansion in the Bahamas is situated on a 1-acre lot that offers 150 feet of beachfront.

According to a listing, the luxurious home sits in the exclusive Old Fort Bay gated community in West Nassau. Its amenities include mahogany-lined walls and bookcases in the second-floor master suite, as well as spectacular ocean views.

The house also includes guest bedrooms with views of the beach and the canal, as well as a kitchen with a breakfast nook, butler's pantry and stainless steel appliances. That leads out to a covered outdoor patio and an access gate to the beach.

The luxury home's exterior amenities include a pool house with bathroom and shower facilities. There's also a guest apartment, a laundry room and a generator with an auto transfer switch. The property also offers the use of a dock slip that can accommodate a 40-foot boat.

According to Country Fancast, Twain listed the Bahamas property for $10.95 million in 2019. That listing has since been removed, but a current listing with Martina Reichardt at MyBahamasRealtor.com asks $12,900,000 ($12.9 million) for the exclusive property.

THE HOUSE APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN TORN DOWN!

I was in Nassau, Bahamas recently waiting on a delayed flight.  I recalled that Shania had a house on the island and that it had been for sale.  A quick check showed several stories about it over the years but no indication that she had actually sold it.  I noticed on Google Maps that there were a few empty lots on the beachfront of the Old Fort Bay neighborhood where the house is located.  If you look carefully at the video posted at the top of this thread, you will notice that her house is next to a house with a orangish colored tile roof.  Also, note other things like the shape of the pool and location of the hot tub next to it.  Compare all of that to the picture on Google Maps satellite view (which is a very recent picture) and you will see that the house is no longer there!  Feel free to double check me, but there definitely was a house on that lot which was torn down.  If you go on Google Earth, that allows you to look at past satellite pictures (click the view tab, then select historical imagery).  Going back through the views of the house, it appears that in September of 2021 the tear down began with the removal of paved parking areas and the driveway.  There are no new pictures in 2022 or 2023.  However, the latest picture from June of 2024 shows the house is completely gone and the lot empty!  If you go way back to 2003, there is no house there and the lot is full of trees and brush.  In 2004, the house first appears in the satellite photos which is consistent with when Shania had the place built.

So this brings up a bunch of questions.  First of all, look at the videos and pictures above.  Who tears down such a beautiful, 20 year old house?  Did Shania sell it very privately to someone (with ridiculous amounts of money) that made no mention of intending to tear it down to build something "to their own liking," only to be blindsided after the sale?  I doubt a buyer would have any legal obligation to state such an intention.  Notice also that the empty lot next to it also appears to have activity going on.  Some kind of structure appears to have been built.  It makes me wonder if somebody bought her house and the empty lot next to it with plans for something much grander in scale.  It certainly seems like a tremendous waste of resources.  A bit hard to fathom.  About the only sensible thing is if the "money is no object" buyer wants to build an elevated house that could handle the storm surge from a bad hurricane hit.  The house as it was originally built would likely flood with a significant storm surge.

Please check my work.  If I'm right, it will be interesting to see if she ever has any comment about what happened to her 20 year old custom built beachfront home!
