if she is smart she will sing HOME NOW at CMA. And release release BECAUSE OF YOU OR SOLDIER to other formats. i think she has lots of good songs on this album but don't have a specific format. HOME now is one of hér few songs  that is country sounding . But shania just is totally strange in the way she chooses singles . She and her team were plain stupid not to release I AIN'T GOING DOWN to country radio, a sure country hit. Instead she releases one of hér worst songs lyrically and vocally and ever produced which was the embarrassing song  UP.   So don't expect any logical single choices by Shania or her team lol

I read SWMEC was released to Country radio on Friday (Sep. 29). And Shania told people to request it during one of her live chats last week.

Well it looks like stations are not adding it to their playlist, or they haven't yet.

So I was just thinking, how many records do y'all think Shania can potentially sale worldwide with NOW? Do y'all think she can reach 10 million?

She should hit 1 million at least, definitely won't be no where near 10 million.

Shania Twain - Now

By Anthony Easton | Exclaim | October 2, 2017

One of the best things I have ever seen, aesthetically, was the part in the last Shania Twain tour during which she rode a circle around Montreal's Bell Centre on a pink neon saddle. Now, her first record since 2002, is like that pink neon saddle: over the top, laden with high femme significance, riotous and beautiful.

On first listen, there's a lot going on — reverb, hand claps, delicate keys, grids of percussion laid over augmented vocals, Spanish tunings, sing-along choruses, piano, weeping strings. It's all kind of historically minded, all kind of new. But with more listens, the saddle slows and dims dramatically; the excess never quite recedes, but the manic quality breaks apart, and an emotional quality emerges.

Shania has never been a feelings artist, but this is a feelings album — not quite a heartbreak album, but in spaces it hints at discussions of divorce, and finding a life after it. (Especially on "Poor Me," which stitches together thick electronic production and a voice that sounds tired, almost shot.)

The ballads are dense and uneasy, too. "Soldier" is the most melancholic thing Shania has produced; there's something intimate in how her words seem to fail, but she keeps trying to push through it with her old energy — to ride that saddle again.

This is a record bursting with indecision and excess, but that excess is revealing; we're shown more of Shania's emotion than ever here. It's enough to make Now one of the best pop albums of the year. (Mercury Nashville)

According to buzzanglemusic she's #1 with album sales. They don't include tour bundles in their sales numbers. So for all the sceptics. She's even heading for #1 without tour bundle sales taking into account.

Swingin' With My Eyes Closed music video is now 1M+ views on YouTube. Life's About To Get Good is at 4.3M+ views. Let's keep on streaming. Shania is also gaining followers on Twitter currently at 880.4K. It has increased tremendously because of NOW release.

"Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" was sent to radio on the 29th. The label has yet to determine an add date though of when stations can add it to their regular rotation. A few stations have already picked it up, but they are non-Billboard reporting stations. A friend in radio said it was expected that UMG Nashville would at least try to push SWMEC but after the tepid response to LATGG they may not use radio at all from here on out.

I 100% agree with you Kevy! I think it would've made more sense had she released "Home Now" as the first single anyway. I also agree that "Soldier" should be released around the holidays. I think, marketing wise, it would be a good move since a song like that would appeal to emotions ESPECIALLY around that time of year.

Shania Twain, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus & More Aiming for High Debuts on Billboard 200 Albums Chart

Plus: A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and the late Tom Petty are heading for the top 10.

By Keith Caulfield | Billboard | October 3, 2017

A trio of divas are aiming for high debuts on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart: Shania Twain, Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus. Industry forecasters suggest Twain’s new Now album will be the biggest of the bunch and could start at No. 1 with more than 120,000 equivalent album units earned in the week ending Oct. 5. Lovato’s new Tell Me You Love Me and Cyrus’ Younger Now could bow with 70,000 and 50,000 units, respectively, in the top 10.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The top 10 of the new Oct. 21-dated Billboard 200 chart (where Twain and company are heading for high debuts) is scheduled to be revealed on Billboard’s websites on Sunday, Oct. 8.

Twain’s Now is her first studio effort in nearly 15 years, since the bow of Up! in November of 2002. That set became her first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and launched with 874,000 copies sold in its first week (according to Nielsen Music). Up! spent five weeks atop the chart. Two years later, Twain released Greatest Hits (which reached No. 2) and then didn’t return to the list until 2015 with the live album Still the One: Live From Las Vegas (No. 55).

For Lovato, her latest effort could mark her sixth consecutive top 10 album (out of six tries). Tell Me You Love Me follows 2015’s Confident, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 (98,000 units earned in its first week). Lovato has so far claimed one chart-topper, 2009’s Here We Go Again.

Cyrus’ Younger Now is her first traditionally-released studio effort since 2013’s Bangerz bowed at No. 1 with 270,000 copies sold in its first week. (In 2015 Cyrus issued the then-streaming-only set Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz for free via Soundcloud. The album was eventually commercially released through digital retailers in 2017.) Younger Now could give Cyrus her 11th top 10 effort, dating back to the first Hannah Montana soundtrack in 2006.

Also in the mix are A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s The Bigger Artist, which may start with 50,000 units and the late Tom Petty, whose Greatest Hits album (with The Heartbreakers, released in 1993; it hit No. 5 in 1994), may re-enter the chart inside the top 10 with more than 45,000 units. The latter title’s forecast could grow through the week, following the continued reaction to Petty’s death on Monday.

Petty’s Greatest Hits is one of a number of albums by the rocker that could surge back onto the chart next week, alongside Wildflowers, the 2000 compilation Anthology: Through the YearsFull Moon Fever and Damn the Torpedoes.

Rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has charted twice previously with the mixtapes Artist (No. 70) and TBA (No. 63), but his latest album is his debut full-length studio effort. He’s currently enjoying a top 20 hit on the Hot Rap Songs chart with “Drowning,” featuring Kodak Black, which is included on the new album.

This is very very very important to her charting position on the charts. I just watched the Facebook Live Q&A and about halfway into it she said she wants to get through the tour and back into the studio for another album which is HUGE. This is HUGE TOO and we have to keep clicking for her charting position to be #1!

Kevy I am aboard with you and predicting the singles to release and where too but I also need to point out her role in the 2018 movie she will be in. She is most likely going to have one of her singles be the lead single for the movie soundtrack which would be smart on her part so NOW can keep bringing in the sales. She should release SOLIDER but since she has the money and power to do this. She should take some of the sales from that single and NOW to donate to Canada's and America's military wives club or something that deals with anything in the scope of giving back. She already does with ShaniaKids and other nonprofits but if she is smart she would that. I can totally see HOME NOW on all the country award shows but more likely it would be LATGG/SWMEC combo to push the sales and spins.

I also think that despite what is appropriate she will just sing current singles as always.

I am wondering the same thing PLUS when they say "plus" streaming does that mean YouTube? What exactly does "plus streaming" means? I seriously hope she can break Up! record of 5 weeks at the top too! Let's hope but we all know Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift will be releasing their albums soon so........... BUT let's hope for the two currents singles to chart well and LATGG will go up on the AC chart. It's been holding steady for what like 6 weeks at number 12 which descent but it can do better!

Shania Twain's 'Now': Not Quite Her 'Lemonade,' But Her First Album in 15 Years Couldn't Have Existed Without It (Critic's Take)

By Dan Weiss | Billboard | October 4, 2017

How come Shania Twain's Now, her first album in 15 years, sounds so much larger than most pop event records in 2017, so much darker and heavier and rifer with surprises than anything Twain’s ever done?

In their review of the album, Pitchfork quickly dismisses the notion that Now is her version of Beyoncé's Lemonade -- the most obvious reference point for any contemporary blockbuster that deals heavily with marital turmoil, as this LP invariably does following the country-pop superhero's divorce form her husband-megaproducer of 15 years, Robert "Mutt" Lange. And of course, the Canadian Lemonade wouldn’t be able to summon the “righteous fury” of a black American woman who’s protested by police groups and happens to be as iconic by now as Marilyn Monroe or just about any other human artist you can think up. But it’s to Beyoncé’s credit that she’s completely changed the course of breakup album history, and she didn’t even have to break up to do it.

For one thing, there’s tempo. The sadness of Now -- which, as the story goes, comes trailing the revelation that Lange had been cheating on her with her best friend, leading to their separation and split in 2010 -- in no way dulls its liveliness. Her first album in just as long is 20 minutes shorter than The Woman in Me, her multiplatinum 1993 breakthrough released at the height of her fire for Lange, and far less tethered to sodden balladry. One of Woman’s slowest songs wondered aloud, “Is There Life After Love?” and many of Now’s most chipper answer it with a riveting yes.

But it’s still a sobering affair; not one track title is punctuated with an exclamation point. This is a significant development following one on The Woman in Me, six on her world-renowned 1997 diamond (and Diamond certification) factory Come on Over, and a hyperglycemic nine on 2002’s Up! -- without even counting the one in the album title. That’s what Twain chooses to mellow here, the demeanor rather than the music. Rather than crying, she narrows her eyes and tightens her stare. Surely Queen Bey is to thank on some level for the Now deluxe edition’s two piano dirges being shaved off the 41-minute album proper.

Instead, Now opens with the reggae-lite of “Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed,” which isn’t far off from “Hold up, they don’t love you like I love you,” and finds surprising detours left and right from anything that moves like typical pop in 2017, a nice advantage for being out of the game for a decade and a half. That means “Swingin’” goes through multiple permutations, a heavy-rock chorus and a double-time bluegrass breakdown that’s by far the countriest thing on a record that’s as firmly P-O-P as Taylor Swift’s 1989 and fitted with about four times as many costumes. It’s followed by “Home Now,” the second-countriest thing on Now, meaning an arena-pounder adorned with banjo and fiddle strum beneath its gated thunder-drums and full massed choirs of Shania vocals. But as the album progresses, it leaves her old sound more and more distant in the rearview mirror, which shouldn’t be a surprise after Up! was made available in “Red” pop mixes and “Blue” Bollywood options in addition to the “Green” country iteration.

Many have pointed out that “Poor Me” sounds like The Chainsmokers, though the EDM duo haven’t thought of conceiving a bridge with a key change like that in their lives. “We Got Something They Don’t” sounds like one of Miranda Lambert’s tougher rock songs, albeit with a brass section beamed in from “Penny Lane.” The spacey balladry of the stunning “Who’s Gonna Be Your Girl” is gentle enough in its turns of phrase and gauzy harmonies to fit on a Lori McKenna or Brandy Clark album, the sort of muted elegance a surefire Nashville songwriter would save for herself rather than a marquee artist. It somehow feels even more alien on a Shania Twain album than the Motown-ready “You Can’t Buy Love” (which does include a “make some lemonade” wink). The biggest surprise on Now though, may be “Roll Me on the River,” a swamp-core shuffle with a beat like pistons that sounds universes away from anything Twain’s ever done; another few decibels and it would’ve fit on Zeal and Ardor’s black-metal-and-blues amalgam Devil Is Fine

Historically, Shania Twain has hardly lacked for pro-woman (if not explicitly feminist) bona fides; when you’re this rich and influential, it means something when you say Brad Pitt don’t impress you much. (Even Up!, her most lightweight album, includes an anti-capitalist screed called “Ka-Ching!” that’s not nearly as cutesy as its title.) Scan the titles of Come on Over and “If You Wanna Touch Her, Ask!” sticks out more in Trump-battered 2017 than even “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!,” while a lyric like “You even get suspicious when I paint my nails” from “Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)” feels like a significant proto-feminist observation for an excessively repackaged pop-country star.

But vitriol has never been part of Twain’s vocabulary; rather than filling Now with tracks called “If You’re Gonna Cheat, Don’t!” she doesn’t dwell on the circumstances; “Poor me this, poor me that” becomes “pour me another” in the most upset track here, and “Poor Me” is far from soggy. “Why do I keep looking back?” she asks matter-of-factly, and spends most of Now taking her own advice. For the most part, Twain puts her voice behind rainbow-after-the-storm optimism like the single “Life’s About to Get Good,” which could soundtrack a visit to a bouncy house.

At this point, divorced literally and sonically from “Mutt” Lange, Twain’s only genre is auteurism. The unexpected arrangements, genre exercises and strange, minor-key melodies all deliberately undermine the golden formula she crafted with her musical Midas ex with concision, and they also inject the current landscape with a lot of ideas that haven’t seen the charts in a while. It says something that she left the token trop-house sure-shot “Let’s Kiss and Make Up” off the regular edition -- but maybe that was just because she and Lange didn’t make up.

Like Beyoncé, hearing a 100-million-selling woman simply take so many sojourns outside her comfort zone feels like a revolutionary act in itself, someone at their full creative peak pushing herself into new niches, dominating new musical territories. Both artists found a happy ending for their woes -- Bey and JAY-Z supposedly worked through their crisis, and Shania found new romance, amazingly, with the man who used to be with her once-best friend -- but both of them seized their blues' power to creative something unlike anything else in their respective catalogs. If that’s not turning lemons into lemonade, then what is?

Jeremy Corbyn gets behind Wolf Alice in their chart battle against Shania Twain

The band have previously supported the Labour leader on several occasions.

pretty pathetic that band is begging for sales and even insulted shania calling her old. Even a politician in the UK is begging for people to buy their albums lol if a number 1 means that much to them then let them have it lol Meanwhile shania stays classy and doesn't get into this immature battle between whatever that bands name is and the fans on both sides.

TBH Wolf Alice’s album is great, too... But yeah, this is very immature.

Pretty pathetic...yes!
Anyway, I am not worried about #1 spot, even #2 or #3 could be ok, what I really care are sales in time!
Is not a single, is an album!
Yes, the first spot is always an event, but what counts most are sales, so I really, really, care the most will be next weeks; NOW must sleep into Top10 chart 4 almost 1 month!
In UK and US!!!

Shania Twain 'Now': How the Country Queen Has Impacted the Music Industry

By Nicole Mastrogiannis | 92.5 WESC | October 6, 2017

The Queen of Country music is BACK. It's been a long time coming, but Shania Twain has finally returned with her first full-length album in 15 years! Now features twelve new songs including singles "Life's About to Get Good" and "Swingin' with My Eyes Closed," in addition to previously released songs like "Poor Me" and "We Got Something They Don't." Twain worked with four main producers on Now, including Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen, Gavin DeGraw), Jake Gosling (Shawn Mendes, One Direction), Jacquire King (James Bay, Norah Jones), and Matthew Koma (Zedd, Carly Rae Jepsen).

Shania recently told the New York Times that writing for her new album was very emotional. "I cried a lot when I wrote. I never cried when I wrote a song ever before in my life." She added, "My songwriting is my diary and it is my best friend. It’s a place I can go to where it’s not expecting anything from me. There’s just no inhibitions there. It’s a complete free place to say whatever I want to say."

There's no doubt that Shania has had a tremendous influence on not only the country music community, but on artists across all genres. The Canada native released her debut self-titled album in 1993 -- 24 years ago. Since then, she's built up a loyal fan base, has become a hero and role model for many, and today, is continuing to bring people together with her music.

iHeartRadio caught up with Nick Jonas, Lauren Alaina, and Darius Rucker, who all talked about how much of an impact Shania has had on them, and on music in general, as they describe her as a true superstar.

Nick Jonas: "I hope to be that kind of artist myself."

You may think of Nick Jonas as a pop star, but Shania has been very inspirational for him. In a recent interview, he even opened up and explained how country music has been influencing his own new music. Nick tells us that his first introduction he had to Shania was at nine years old after hearing her record and watching her Chicago concert on TV. "It blew my mind," he says. "The performance as a whole, how many hits she had, and just the impact she had on people's lives was really special. Then over time, I think the songs continued to mean more and more to me, and that's a beautiful thing when an artist can become a part of the fabric of your life."

The song that has impacted Nick the most is "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!" from her 2002 record Up! It's a song that he and his brothers, as their band Jonas Brothers, covered on their 2008 tour. He explains, "[It was] one of the first covers we did and learning the song, learning the ins and outs of the production, and the background vocals, and everything else really became a big part of my approach to not only writing music, but also harmonies and arranging songs as a whole."

Nick also performed with Shania during Stagecoach this year. He explains of her impact as a music icon, "I think the thing that makes a musical icon is someone that can become not only someone you admire, but someone that you aspire to be like as an artist; it's not just the songs. But it's the way you go about telling the stories through the visuals and connection with your fans. And with Shania, there's a long lasting approach there. Being on stage with her at Stagecoach this last year, and being able to sing one of her big hits with her was a really special moment for me. Looking out the crowd and seeing how important each one of these songs was for her fans was a beautiful thing. I hope to be that kind of artist myself."

Lauren Alaina: "I think it's such a powerful song and it makes women proud to be women."

If you've seen Lauren Alaina perform live before, then it's no surprise that Shania Twain has impacted the 22-year-old. Lauren often covers Shania's songs during her own shows, and as she tells us, Twain's songs are many of her go-to karaoke jams. Lauren explains, "I can't really pick a song by Shania that impacted me the most, because I sang all of them in karaoke like they were my own songs. And I gained my confidence singing them by the pool in Daytona Beach every year for the people at the pool, driving them crazy singing Shania. But, I mean, I sang 'Any Man Of Mine' on American Idol, that was a really cool one. I sing 'Man, I Feel Like A Woman' on tour and ... I mean, I don't know, I love them all. I think she's amazing."

But if given the chance to perform with Shania, she would absolutely choose "Man, I Feel Like A Woman." She calls the song "genius in every way," and it holds such an important message for her personally. Lauren tells us:

"If I could perform any song with Shania, I'd probably want to do 'Man, I Feel Like A Woman,' just because I think that that song is genius in every way. I actually perform it in my live shows. We do a 90s medley, and some are early 2000s as well, but I start the whole medley with that song because I think it's such a powerful song and it makes women proud to be women. And not that I'm not proud to be a woman, but it makes me say those words out loud. It makes me say, 'Man, I feel like a woman,' and it's a celebration of that. I think that I've had to really remind myself to be proud of who I am and what I stand for, and my looks and everything. That song, because of those lyrics, makes me say those things, and I really believe in the power of words and lyrics. Because I think if you say something over and over again, it becomes you. I love that song."

Darius Rucker: "When I hear the name Shania Twain, the first thing that comes to my mind is just 'superstar.'"

With a 30+ year career in music, Darius Rucker knows a thing or two about what makes a music icon -- a true superstar -- and he says Shania Twain fits that bill. He tells us:

"When I hear the name Shania Twain, the first thing that comes to my mind is just 'superstar.' She's crossed so many genres and broke down so many barriers, and just really had the songs and all the stuff it takes to be a superstar. She had that thing that made you want to look at her, and made you want to see her, and made you want to go out, and buy a ticket to her show. She also had the songs. The songs are great, and I think that's an important thing to have. And she had all the other things like the charisma and videos that were so important at the time. A great video for her songs that crossed genres. I think she just had all those things and it hit like a Nova, and she became a superstar."

What makes an artist an "icon?" According to Darius, he says, "First of all, you've got to have the hits. You've got to have the songs, and you've got to have all the things that come with it, with people wanting to see you. But I think the word 'icon' comes from doing it for a while. Doing it for a long time, and making people want to look at you, and making people want to come see your shows, and making people want to buy your records for a long time. She's an influence. So many people in music, not just country music, but across all genres. She's influenced so many people, and that's the kind of thing that I think makes an icon."

NOW DEBUTS AT #1 IN UK!

Shania Twain wins fiercely fought battle against Wolf Alice to claim her first Number 1 in 18 years on the Official Albums Chart

Plus there are strong debuts for Demi Lovato, David Gilmour and Miley Cyrus on this week's Official Albums Chart.

After a hotly contested week-long tussle, it’s Shania Twain who wins this week’s battle for Number 1 over Wolf Alice on the Official Albums Chart.

Despite the North London band leading the way on Monday’s Official Chart Update, country-pop superstar Shania has pipped them to the post with her new album, Now, finishing ahead by 764 combined sales.

Earlier this week, Wolf Alice’s drummer Joel Amey urged fans to buy their latest record, Visions Of A Life, saying he was “proud” of what they’d made and recalled a story in which he was forced to line dance to Shania’s 1999 hit Man! I Feel Like A Woman, comparing the memory to Stephen King’s horror novel/film It.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn later weighed in on the battle, pledging his support for Wolf Alice, while Niall Horan was backing Shania, describing the singer as his “favourite person in the world”.

Now becomes Shania’s second Number 1 album in the UK, 18 years after she last hit the top spot with Come On Over in 1999. That album went on to become one of the UK’s biggest selling records of all time, with 3.4 million pure sales to date. The star will be returning to the UK for the first time in 13 years next September for a string of UK arena shows – tickets are on sale now.

Now is the second Number 1 album by a female artist released this year in the UK, after Lana Del Rey’s Lust For Life debuted at the top back in August.

Meanwhile, Wolf Alice’s Visions Of A Life settles for second place and becomes their second album to debut at Number 2.
