Shania Twain among performers set for 'Canada Together' broadcast benefit

TORONTO — Shania Twain, Lady Antebellum, and Luke Combs are among the headliners set to perform from their homes for a five-night broadcast event next week in support of Canada's COVID-19 relief efforts.

ET Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Country Music Association and the CCMA Foundation, will present "Canada Together: In Concert."

The series premieres Monday and will air weeknights on "ET Canada" (at 7:30 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT) on Global, turning the entertainment news show into mostly performance-based episodes for the week.

The event will also air simultaneously on Corus country radio stations Country 105, CISN Country 103.9 and Country 104.

All proceeds raised will be donated equally between Food Banks Canada and the Unison Benevolent Fund to support Canadians during the pandemic.

Spotify will also match every dollar (up to US$10M globally) provided to the Unison Benevolent Fund through their #SpotifyMusicRelief project.

Monday's episode includes remote performances from Twain with Dallas Smith, Lindsay Ell, and High Valley.

A total of 20 acts are participating through the rest of the week, with others including Brett Kissel, Dean Brody, Gord Bamford, James Barker Band, and MacKenzie Porter.

Every episode will feature one song performed by each artist from their home, as well as a short interview with the headliner and a spotlight on an organization and/or individual who is helping their community. 

The event can also be streamed live on the Global TV app.

Shania Twain, Luke Combs, Morgan Wallen & More Country Stars Join ET Canada And The CCMA Foundation’s ‘Canada Together: In Concert’

Country stars are coming together to support Canada’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

ET Canada has partnered with the Canadian Country Music Association Foundation for “Canada Together: In Concert”, an unprecedented five-night broadcast featuring intimate performances and exclusive conversations with 20 of the biggest names in country music.

The showstopping concert series will feature country superstars Shania Twain, Luke Combs, Lady Antebellum, Morgan Wallen and Jordan Davis, joined by Canada’s own Brett Kissel, Dallas Smith, Dean Brody, Gord Bamford, High Valley, Jade Eagleson, James Barker Band, Jess Moskaluke, Lindsay Ell, MacKenzie Porter, Meghan Patrick, the Reklaws, Tenille Townes, Tim Hicks, and the Washboard Union.

The concert series will support Food Banks Canada and Unison Benevolent Fund’s COVID-19 relief efforts.

Canadians wishing to donate can do so via a one-time or monthly donation option at the CCMA Foundation website, or by texting CCMA to 20222.

Along with the virtual performances, “Canada Together: In Concert” will also pay special tribute to some of the courageous individuals who are making a difference in their communities amid the pandemic.

Thursday, April 23: Morgan Wallen with MacKenzie Porter, Tim Hicks, and James Barker Band

Friday, April 24: Jordan Davis with Gord Bamford, Jess Moskaluke, and Jade Eagleson

The series premieres on ET Canada Monday, April 20, at 7:30 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT on Global and will be broadcasting simultaneously on Corus country radio stations Country 105, CISN Country 103.9 and Country 104.

According to the video, Shania is in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I guess the mystery is solved! She isn't in Las Vegas now.

Shania Twain Delivers Intimate Performance Of ‘Honey, I‘m Home’ To Kick Off ‘Canada Together: In Concert, Presented By TD’

Saddle up, because ET Canada and the CCMA Foundation’s “Canada Together: In Concert, Presented by TD” is officially underway.

To kick-off the week-long concert series, Canada’s own Shania Twain invites fans into her house for an intimate performance of her 1997 hit, “Honey, I’m Home”.

While speaking with ET Canada’s Cheryl Hickey, the country queen also shares an inspiring message for everyone dealing with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“I want to send you a smile because no matter how bad things are, I think it’s important to stay positive,” says the singer. “I want to share hope and love and strength to all of you out there who are going through more of a challenging time. My heart is with you and know that I’m thinking of you, we all are.”

Adds the singer: “It’s very trying times and I’m feeling very lucky, because I’m not sick, but I’m so concerned about everybody else that is sick. And also concerned about the healthcare givers, the first responders, everybody that is putting themselves out there.”

Twain also reveals how she’s spending her time stuck at home, teasing that new music is in the works.

“My days in isolation have been making a lot of music, bonding with my family, and playing with the dogs,” she explains.

Along with Twain’s performance, Canada’s own Dallas Smith, Lindsay Ell and High Valley also performed during Monday’s show.

the ET clip actually says “Calgary” (Alberta) not British Columbia. I did not know that Shania had a place in Alberta. I’m sure it is gorgeous!

I know. It's very confusing. In an interview last week she said she is in B.C. but the video says Calgary, Alberta. Maybe it's a mistake. I find it hard to believe she has a house in both locations, plus Las Vegas.
