News 3 Las Vegas | April 24, 2020
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — iHeartMedia Las Vegas and News 3 Las Vegas have announced “Stay Home For Nevada,” a broadcast to benefit UMC Foundation/University Medical Center and The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada.
The show will air across iHeartMedia Las Vegas’ four radio stations and on News 3, on Wednesday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m. (9:30 p.m. ET).
The event hopes to encourage the community to support the two organizations and to practice social distancing.
The broadcast will feature performances and appearances by Nevada-based artists and friends of the community including Shania Twain, Nick Carter, David Copperfield, Sammy Hagar, Lee Brice, Criss Angel, Jimmie Allen, Taylor Dayne, Mat Franco, Human Nature, Murray The Magician, Puddles Pity Party, players from the Vegas Golden Knights, players from the Las Vegas Raiders, and others to be added. Nevada Governor, Steve Sisolak, is set to open the benefit.
Donations to the UMC Foundation/University Medical Center will be used for their frontline workers – doctors and nurses who are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and help ensure they have the proper equipment and supplies during these times.
As Nevada's most sophisticated hospital, UMC offers the highest level of care in Nevada. UMC continues to lead the way in COVID-19 testing and treatment while their medical experts are depended upon by local and state officials as the frontrunners in combating this virus.
Donations to The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada will stay in the Las Vegas valley to provide services for the community in need.
The Salvation Army of Southern Nevada has expanded their shelter space and hours for serving their free community meals (500-600 daily) and have recently distributed over 6,000 pandemic kits for the homeless.

Shania Twain, Sammy Hagar among iHeartMedia broadcast headliners
By John Katsilometes | Las Vegas Review-Journal | April 28, 2020
The COVID-19 shutdown has achieved the seemingly impossible: brought together Shania Twain and Puddles Pity Party.
Not in duet, but for the “Stay Home for Nevada” broadcast, set for 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday on iHeartMedia Las Vegas’ quartet of radio stations and on KSNV-TV, Channel 3. FM radio listeners can find the action on Sunny 106.5, Real 103.9, 93.1 The Mountain and 95.5 The Bull.
The event is to benefit UMC Foundation/University Medical Center and the Salvation Army Southern Nevada.
Twain is the international country superstar booked in residency at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort. Puddles Pity Party is the very tall, operatic but otherwise silent clown performer who has headlined at Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesars Palace. The list of superstars either performing or appearing in video messages includes the Red Rocker Sammy Hagar, Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys, David Copperfield, Lee Brice, Criss Angel, Jimmie Allen, Taylor Dayne, Mat Franco, Human Nature, Murray Sawchuck, and members of the Vegas Golden Knights and Las Vegas Raiders.
Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak is set to open the benefit.
According to a news release announcing the broadcast, donations to the UMC Foundation/University Medical Center will be used for front-line workers. Donations to the Salvation Army Southern Nevada will provide services for community members in need as the organization has expanded shelter space and hours for serving 500-600 meals per day and has distributed more than 6,000 pandemic kits for the Las Vegas homeless.
Over the years Twain has headlined two theaters — the Colosseum at Caesars Palace and Zappos Theater — and has become a fan of Las Vegas. She is to be introduced by Copperfield, a longtime friend. As she posted on Twitter, “Vegas has always taken care of me and now it’s time for us to take care of her!”
iHeartRadio and News 3 team up for all-star Stay Home for Nevada benefit broadcast
By Brock Radke | Las Vegas Sun | April 29, 2020
Las Vegas remains fabulous. Two days after a seven-hour telethon-style streaming variety show produced by local charity event Mondays Dark raised more than $120,000 for performing arts industry workers in Southern Nevada, another all-star online show hits the airwaves tonight to help other needy organizations.
This one’s on TV. KSNV NBC Las Vegas (Channel 3) is teaming with iHeartRadio’s local stations to present the Stay Home for Nevada Benefit at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The 90-minute special airs on Channel 3 and iHeart’s stations will raise awareness and funding for the UMC Foundation and the Salvation Army of Las Vegas.
The lineup is nothing short of spectacular, including Shania Twain, David Copperfield, Nick Carter from the Backstreet Boys, Sammy Hagar, Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum, Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men, Lee Brice, Taylor Dayne, Mat Franco, Jimmie Allen, Criss Angel, Human Nature, Flavor Flav, Ryan Reaves and Deryk Engelland from the Vegas Golden Knights and performers from “Extravaganza” and “WOW.” Gov. Steve Sisolak is expected to send a greeting as well.
Country music stars Twain, Kelley, Brice and Allen come compliments of local station 95.5 FM, The Bull. The idea for the benefit show started with its program director and on-air personality Wayne “Big D” Danielson.
“We were going to do it on the radio anyway, but once we started building, we realized we needed a TV partner. News 3 just jumped on it,” Danielson says. “The only other cities that could pull something like this off are L.A. and New York. With the entertainment we have in our backyard, we have to tap into that to make an impact and raise awareness.”
Other on-air personalities from News 3 and the radio stations will play host by introducing different acts during the show.
“You’re going to see a lot of performances and some special messages. We couldn’t get all the Backstreet Boys but you’re going to see Nick Carter. Charles Kelley from Lady A had a [residency show] here and he gets to talk about what this city means to him and how he can’t wait to get back here,” Danielson says. “And I get to introduce Lee Brice from the spare bedroom in my house.”
The show will be broadcast at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on the local NBC affiliate as well as iHeartRadio stations Sunny 106.5, 95.5 The Bull, 93.1 The Mountain and Real 103.9. It will also be available on the iHeartRadio app.
The show’s sponsors include Terrible’s, Sam & Ash, United Nissan, the Chicken Shack and Iuventus Medical Center.
