Hello, my name is Kylie-Marie and I am afraid of a music video. The worst is that it is a Shania Twain music video, aka my idol's MV.
I am afraid of I'm Outta Here. I'm afraid of the scream at the beginning of the song. Because of that, I cannot listen to the album The Woman in Me.
I am scared of the music video because someone decided to include the scream. Now, I am a visual related to it that still haunts my dreams.
Because of this, I have trouble doing research on the Internet about Shania, I have trouble listening to country radio stations (like Sirius XM), I have trouble doing research on Youtube.
The decisions made 25 years ago still affects me to this day and now that I am putting myself out as a Shania fan here or on my Youtube channel, I need to take extra precautions to not get triggered.
When I was a child, I used to be afraid of alot of stuff, but I got over them with time, except for that freaking MV and song. I get sick just knowing something Shania related will come nearby.
Now, this post is for me to share my experience with something. Not a lot of people know about this except my family (who many of them have NOT been the most supportive, (like holding me down when the song or MV is on)).
I hope we can have a convo about this WITHOUT having any video or image appearing here. I just want to talk. Thanks for reading...
Maybe the new Shania vocal version being released on the Diamond Deluxe Edition will not have the scream at the beginning of the song. 🤷🏼♂️ When it becomes available, I will let you know.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard the Greatest Hits, I’m Outta Here doesn’t have the scream on there! As a Shania fan I’m sure you would love to experience all of her music in a positive way!

Why is it always at the top of Shania songs for fans?
Why is it in multiple compilations throughout the 90s? (I'M LOOKING AT YOU AUSTRALIA)
Why does she always finish her shows with that song? (That one, I get the joke, but still)
Why are people are still raging about that song????
Why is no one concerned for how the song starts????
Why do all her live performances of that song need to have a reference to the MV??

That is a rant I wanted to share for a loooooooong time. I needed to get it out of my chest.

STORYTIME
I found some videos of old TV shows I used to watch during the Woman in Me era (I even found THE TV SHOW AND EPISODE THAT GOT ME INTO HER - IT WAS CALLED CLUB DANCE ON TNN).
While researching, I also found dance competitions that I remember watching at the time (which explains my love for dancing) and was curious to check again.
AND LONG AND BEHOLD, that MF screamed! For some reason, I rewinded the video twice to hear again... you know... just in case I was wrong to be scared of it... or just to make me feel worse...
UGH!
Anyways, I laughed it off, thinking ''back to day 1 since scream'' lol
But I had a literal panic attack (shortness of breath, hot flashes, heart palpitations, trembling...)
OK. WHY DO PEOPLE LOVE THIS SONG?????
