This is from Shania's BMI catalog. Breland had to give Shania and Mutt PRS (performing rights royalties) credit for his song "Natural" since it sounds similar to "MIFLIAW". Shania and Mutt didn't actually write "Natural"'.

It looks like Shania and Mutt DID co-write "Natural" together (along with a few others). I'm shocked! But maybe this gives us hope for more songs in the future. Who knows, maybe Mutt co-wrote a couple songs on Shania's new album.

Actually I think it's because "Natural" was said to have the same riff as "Man! I Feel Like a Woman". There was enough confusion around it that maybe Breland gave them credit.

Similar to Olivia Rodrigo giving Taylor Swift credit on "Déjà Vu" because the bridge sounded a little similar to "Cruel Summer".

I don't think Shania and Mutt worked together again.

schnetzka, I think you're right because back in April Breland tweeted he wanted Shania to hear the song. As if she wasn't aware of it.

If a song is sampled (like MIFLAW), the writers of that song get credit on the new song. It’s why a Beyoncé song might have like 20 different songwriters listed in the credits.
