So in my Desperate Housewives rewatch, it made me wonder what made Shania record “Shoes“ for the Desperate Housewives soundtrack during such an obviously difficult time for her?
Was it an opportunity to get back in to the industry but then her voice failed her? Or did she just love the show like so many of us?!
Doesn’t really answer your question but I think Shoes was recorded at the same time as Party for Two, Don’t and I Ain’t No Quitter. So that is likely why it was even recorded in the first place.
I really like Shoes. I wish it was more widely promoted and played at the time. She also did a pop version. I don't think it was ever officially released but it's on YouTube.
Shoes might be one of two recorded songs where someone other than Shania or Mutt did backing vocals (not counting the first album), the other song is God Bless the Child with the choir.
