The Foo Fighters took the video down no offense they didn't sound good either. Shania didn't do bad the song choice is the challenge as you have to scream to sing it. She was okay with it. loved her confidence. The lead singer did not sound that good with all that screaming lol
I loved this one so much! ā¤ļøāš„ My @aclfestival crowd partied with me through the whole set and I came off stage absolutely buzzing with all the awesome energy! What a trip! I'm happy she's having a good time. This song looks way out of her range. She's really courageous to try to perform this song in a festival that was recorded.Ā
But again, I'm currently in the mood that happy to see her having a great time and actually learning from this courage of being so vulnerable in such challenge situation.
Ā
Cheers to all.
Ā
p.S. And if someone finds a recorded version of the Shania performance, please share with the fans like me that won't be able to see QOM tour.Ā
This was one off the bucket list for me! Firstly thank you to @foofighters for inviting me on stage - you are all so generous and ridiculously cool. I am a huge rock fan. My first band was a rock band, my first big producer was one of the worlds renowned rock producers, me and my son like to rock out š Totally worth the adrenaline fuelled run from my stage to yours Dave Grohl - you are a true friend and talent ā¤ļø
Shania Twain Called Out By Fans For Butchering āBest Of Youā Duet With Foo Fighters
By Brady Cox | Whiskey Riff | October 9, 2023
Yikesā¦
Honestly, the idea of Shania Twain, the queen of country pop, and one of the greatest rock bands of the modern era, Foo Fighters, getting together on a song sounds pretty damn awesome. Both broke out in 1995 with Foo Fighters releasing their debut, self-titled album that year, and Shaina Twain releasing her first Gold single, āWhose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?ā that year as well.
Shania took some time off after battling Lyme disease, but for the most part, both acts have managed to sustain their respective careers for decades, still packing out venues with thousands and thousands of adoring fans.
Dave Grohl is a music icon, Foo Fighters guitar player Chris Shiflett has a few country records of his own that are pretty damn good, and we all know that when it comes to the ā90s and early 2000s, Shania Twain was on top of the music world, one of the best selling acts EVERā¦ in all of music.
So a collaboration sounds pretty cool, right? Wrongā¦
Austin City Limits Music Festival kicked off this past weekend down in the Lone Star State, and features the likes of Foo Fighters, Shania Twain, Mumford and Sons, Kendrick Lamar, The Lumineers, and many more performing over the course of this past weekend, and again this coming weekend.
Foo Fighters headlined this past Saturday, with Shania Twain directly preceding them in the lineup, but Shania stuck around until the end to hop on stage with Dave and company for a duet of their 2005 hit āBest Of You,ā right before they closed out with āEverlong.ā
And Iāll just come right out and say itā¦ it wasnāt good.
Now, Iām not trying to bash Shania at all. Sheās the queen of pop country for a reason, and sheāll forever be one of the greatest performers in all of country music. And Iām not gonna lie, sheāll forever be one of my first crushes. However, it was pretty brutal to say the least.
During her appearance on stage with the Foo Fighters, you can see her awkwardly hugging lead singer Dave Grohl while wearing a red wig as he begins the song. And when they jump into the chorusā¦ again, yikes.
It appears that Shania missed the lyrics or wasnāt very familiar, because it just sounds like some strange mumbling. It sounds off keyā¦ the song just sounds way out of her range at the moment. So, itās not just me being a jerk here, the entire internet seemed to agree.
Twitter (now called X) laid it on pretty heavy in the comments, and this is just a small piece of the conversationā¦ find any video, on any platform of the performance, and youāll hear fans echo a similar sentiment.
Itās not pretty:

And trust me, thereās plenty moreā¦ I just donāt want to make this blog six miles long. Of course, earlier this year a number of Shaina fans complained that her Nashville concert was a less than stellar experience as well.
That being said, hereās the full performanceā¦ you can be the judge:
