While he’s teased in the past that he was interested in collaborating with Twain, that thought was eight months ago and was pushed to the back of our minds…until that concert video surfaced.
Of course, when you see artists supporting other artists, you can’t help but think if they are there to hit the studio while stopping through each others’ cities.
Well, this time, our suspicions turned into a reality when Yung Gravy took to TikTok to share a clip of him and Shania Twain in the studio together working on some new music.
“‘Serving Country’ coming soon.”
The video footage of the two in the recording booth shows Twain helping Gravy with his vocals, as he is not familiar with making music that isn’t rap. What a coach he has to help him figure out how to hit notes as he taps into his vocal ability…
While most people tease a collaboration with a few lines from the song, Gravy teases it with the criticism Twain is giving him.
The best part about this video is realizing the DRASTIC height difference between the artists. At first watch, I didn’t notice anything till it zoomed in, and you see Twain squatting down a little. Naturally, that didn’t sit well, as I know Gravy is taller than six feet, and Twain is most definitely not.
Then I realized that she has to stand on a chair to reach the microphone. Even standing on the chair, Twain’s feet hit about where Gravy’s knees start.
Regardless of the height difference, Gravy Twain will serve up some good stuff…I can feel it.
Eyes are officially peeled for a “Serving Country” release date.
We know this duet with Yung Gravy is one of the projects Shania is waiting to share soon. While this will technically be Gravy's song, maybe he is working with Shania on some new songs of her own since he is also a producer.

Yung Gravy's upcoming "Serving Country" album will be out in late Spring or early Summer. He will start releasing singles in March. "The songs with Shania are kind of like love songs."
Yung Gravy | Country Music, Shania Twain, Mozzarella
Yung Gravy came by to talk about his upcoming country album, working with Shania Twain, new song Mozzarella with Lil Keed and more!
At the 34-minute mark he says they did 6 or 7 demos and he thinks 3 will be on the album. There's a sample called "My Day Once" similar to "You're Still The One".

Yeah, back on February 5 in the full interview posted above, Yung Gravy said his upcoming "Serving Country" album will be out in late Spring or early Summer. He also said singles would start being released in March. That obviously didn't happen. So maybe by the end of this month. I wonder if one of the songs with Shania will be the lead single.

Even though she commented, Shania isn't in any of the pictures he posted so my guess "Clementine" isn't a duet with her. Although he does have a Let's Go Girls shirt on. We'll see.
He sounds so bad. They have some sort of filter on his voice. I wonder if there will be a music video. They are wearing matching outfits in the preview video so if there is a video I bet this was shot at the same time.
Also, I don't think this song will become a big hit, but I could see it becoming popular on TikTok since it's summer and White Claw's are a popular drink and they are pretty popular with college age folks and in pop culture. I definitely think it will probably be used in a White Claw commercial.
Yung Gravy Teases New Song With Shania Twain Called “White Claw,” And It’s… Pretty Terrible
By Casey Young | Whiskey Riff | June 3, 2024
I know there are a million and three songs about whiskey in country music, but White Claws? It just doesn’t hit the same (maybe it would’ve 5 years ago when White Claw peaked).
Today, rapper Yung Gravy teased a new song with the queen of pop country, Mrs. Shania Twain, called “White Claw” and it’s… something.
I assume if you’re here you’re probably not super familiar with Mr. Gravy, the Minnesota-born rapper whose real name is Matthew Raymond Hauri, but he’s been working his way into country here recently, shooting his shot at Lainey Wilson and even releasing a country-inspired song (if you can even call it that), which features an interpolation of the Zac Brown Band hit “Chicken Fried” called “Clementine.”
He’s admittedly a huge fan of Shania, and has also performed on stage with country hitmaker Hardy in the past. Gravy also recently announced a tour called Grits and Gravy, and is rumored to be putting out a “country album” sometime this year. Him and everyone else…
So yeah, he’s really leaning into the whole country/Southern thing… probably a little too much. But as with many other pop stars, like Beyoncé and Lana Del Rey, Gravy has clearly noticed that the country genre is where the money is right now, so he wants in. It’s nothing new… he’s not the first, and he won’t be the last.
But seriously, as a professional musician, could he not do a little better than this?
Gravy apparently has a new song coming out with Shania this Friday called “White Claw,” and before I get into the very mixed fan reaction, just listen to it for yourself:
I honestly listened more than once just trying to figure out if it’s a joke, because I really wish that were the case and quite a few fans seem to agree with me if you take a quick scroll through the Instagram comments section:
“This can’t be real.”
“Go back to rap please.”
“Is this a real song or like a joke song?”
“This is terrible. Lolol.”
“Just when country music couldn’t get any worse.”
“I’m so confused.”
“I genuinely hope this is satire, or a tragic paid promo. I’m embarrassed, for them.”
“What the fuuuuu has happened to country music?!??? Wow!”
“This is so absolutely terrible and I had high hopes.”
“You aren’t Posty… sorry honey.”
“Wtf happened to country.”
“Man the simulation really be simming these days.”
“Oh dear….”
“This sounds AI generated.”
But like I said, it was mixed, and there were a lot of positive comments too:
“New song of the summer!
“This collab wasn’t on my 2024 bingo card but I dig it.”
“This is so iconic, can’t wait!”
“Told you bro.. Alan Jackson reincarnated.”
“This will be an absolute summer banger. Yesssss
“Fantastic collaboration. Her first note makes me weak in the knees.”
“So good.”
“I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.”
“Golf course/lake bangerrrrr.”
“This actually goes hard song of the summer.”
“I can’t wait.”
Seriously, if all of this popularity with country music has taught us anything, it’s that just because you can make country music (or something very vaguely reminiscent of it), doesn’t mean you should…
And of course, like any girl born in the ’90s, I absolutely love Shania, think she’s a queen, and her music was a massive part of my childhood. But I’m not so sure I’ll be adding this song to my playlist anytime soon… very few pop/rap artists can pull off country (and I’m sure it works both ways), and if this doesn’t prove that, then I don’t know what does. Yikes…
"White Claw" should be released in New Zealand on Thursday morning at 8:00am ET. If you're outside of New Zealand, you'll be able to listen to a clip on Apple Music New Zealand.
Yung Gravy just posted the song on his YouTube Channel. If you have a VPN and select New Zealand you can listen to it. Nothing special, the song is quite plain and simple, just acoustic guitar, pedal steel and banjo. Shania's vocals are great in my opinion. I don't think it will be a hit, honestly.
There are two versions: one with an E and another one without, just like "Pretty Liar". Shania wrote the lyrics, too.
The longer preview I heard Shania Twain sounds amazing. Most pure country sound she's done in years. I actually like the song after listening to the longer version. Not over produced either.

I love it, and Shania's voice seems to dominate, great. It's the kind of song that can be listened to over and over again. When Shania says “because” it’s excellent!
The other day when I heard a few seconds I laughed and said horrible because I didn't think it was going to be so good. Today I put my ear buds in and say Shania sounds better than ever. Then I hear.more of young gravy and I'm like okay not to bad. I have only heard half of the song and won't hear the rest until tomorrow. Honestly it is country/pop. The production of the song suits Shanias voice well. Definitely a catchy song. Maybe it will be a hit maybe it won't. It certainly has potential. Definitely Shanias strongest vocals in years.

"strongest vocals" : remember "Beauty and the Beast", strong too ! She needs to record more stuff with that voice and let us enjoy listening !
I just listened to "White Claw" in its entirety. Shania sounds EXCELLENT! I still don't like Gravy. His voice is annoying. The song has no place on radio. Top 40/Pop stations won't play it. Either will Adult Contemporary or Country stations.

I was thinking the same thing, She sounds amazing there's just something annoying about his voice. At least we know Shania sounds 😍
Shania’s voice really dominated in this song. Her parts were outstanding. Young Gravy had a low tone but he is cute anyway. I think the music video looks fun!
She sound amazing. I hope she adds this to her setlist as a solo song. I think songs with more of a country production like this song and "Wanted Man" suit her voice much better than songs that have more of a pop production like "Waking Up Dreaming".
The second duet is even worse. He just sounds so bad. Shania said while back on tour she loves his voice. I dunno 🤔
He sounds like a cheap knockoff version of Morgan Wallen, Luke Combs, and Florida Georgia Line. I'm curious to see what his solo tracks sound like. Shania saves the tracks she's on and is the highlight.
