Shania's seventh album 'all but done' as 'inspired' superstar plots chart comeback and UK tour

***NOTE*** The Sun is a British tabloid newspaper so it's uncertain how much of this article is factual and how much is just speculation.

7 UP! | Music legend’s seventh album ‘all but done’ as ‘inspired’ superstar plots chart comeback and UK tour

I’m told that, while an exact release date hasn’t been picked yet, the album will be out this year

By Jack Hardwick | The Sun - UK | January 18, 2026

NEXT month marks three years since music legend Shania Twain released her chart-topping sixth album, Queen Of Me. And finally it’s almost time to “go girls” once more.

I’m happy to report that Shania’s seventh collection is nearly complete.

The album has been primarily recorded in the Bahamas, near Shania’s stunning coastal home, and on the road while she toured America last year.

I’m told that, while an exact release date hasn’t been picked yet, the album will be out this year.

Judging by the fact that lead singles of an artist’s record can drop months before the album, I don’t think we will be waiting too long to hear Shania’s new music either.

A source said: “Shania initially started working on the album in early 2024, but put the record on hold to focus on her Come On Over — All The Hits residency in Las Vegas.

“Since then she’s been playing shows across America and hitting the studio.

“She’s really been inspired by being on the road and playing shows once more.

“Shania has always had this deep love of life but turning 60 last summer also reinvigorated her. She’s been super-inspired.”

Taking to Instagram last May, Shania shared a shot of her carrying a guitar into the studio.

She teased: “Papped by my own husband on the way to what turned out to be a great writing session! I’ve been lucky enough to find a little time to hide away and put down the ideas that have been spinning around in my head since the last album.

“Funny to hear your own thoughts, feelings and daydreams being realised into actual songs.”

She added: “I know that this world isn’t systemically built to nurture a woman of my age releasing music, but I feel more in tune with myself than ever — strong, inspired and full of creative energy.

“Thank you to my fans who stay with me through the process — you are my inspiration.”

While the album is coming this year, there will be a little longer to wait for a tour.

I’m told beyond an odd show here and there, Shania has zero plans to tour in 2026, but there will be one in 2027.

Next year also happens to be 30 years since Shania released her album Come On Over, which spawned some of her biggest hits including Man! I Feel Like A Woman!, From This Moment On and Black Eyes, Blue Tears.

Shania last toured the UK in September 2023 with Bizarre digging out our leopard-print and cowboy boots for her London and Birmingham shows.

In July 2024 she jetted to the capital to play a huge show at British SummerTime Hyde Park.

After all these years, Shania, You’re Still The One we want to hear on our playlists.

I have a feeling what he's saying is true. So, no release date set yet, which means we'll have to wait a long time! Until December 2026... Since she's doing a few isolated concerts/festivals this Summer (and the tour only in 2027), the album won't be out before then, maybe just a first single before Summer that she could perform at festivals. And the album in the Fall. I think that's the plan.

The Sun isn't the most reliable source so not sure if I believe this. But if true, then I cannot see them waiting until near the end of the year to release the album if it's almost ready. I would expect Summer at the latest.

Just peeked at Instagram and confirmed that Jack follows/is followed by Shania's day-to-day manager James. So despite writing for a tabloid paper, I think Jack has solid sources for this.

Lead single will probably be released shortly before Shania's opening act gig with Harry Styles in June. The album will probably be released in early Fall (late September or October).

Shania Twain is extremely absent from the world lately. I'm expecting some kind of announcement soon regarding her new album or on some project at least.

I really hope it’s true. I don’t know what to expect from the next album…I really enoyed the pop direction of “Queen of Me” but I would love a comeback to her country roots.

She is probably about to make a new music announcement. "Does He Drive You Crazy?" might be the title or lyrics of the lead single from the new album.

Probably the lead single off the next album. Could be out this Friday coming.

There should be a new thread for a new album or music. We all know an announcement is coming. It would be a great way for fans to interact

Text from Shania

Sorry I've been quiet, I just remembered I have this number 😂 Here's a video of me and T Bone Burnett working through a guitar part in the studio. More soon! xx

I love this snippet of a bridge (as she says). Less than 2 months before listening the new first single of her new album. She'll perform her new song for sure in London before Harry Styles and maybe AMA's May 25 ? I think while in London, she'll record a duet with Harry Styles for a future duet album or a deluxe edition of her new album.

I have some concerns if the whole album is produced by T Bone Bennett. I've listened to numerous albums he has produced in the last few days and they all pretty much sound the same. Looking through his production discography, he usually produces full albums and not just one song for an artist. Don't know how I feel about it...

He's not the only one; there's also Stee Gfeller, Shania's son, and surely many others! Plus Shania Twain...

I guarantee you Shania Twain has had multiple producers on the new album.  As for the song its hard to tell what it will sound like because what we heard sounds like an early production of the song. My question is what is the plan for this album? The same promotion as the last two?

It seems obvious the promotion will be through these concerts in London and Ireland, to begin.

I’m really excited with this direction for the album. There’s been a few subtle hints over the past two years that this album will have more a folk/bluegrass sound and this news seems to confirm that. I think it will work really well with her voice. I would love if it Alison Krauss and Brandi Carlisle are collaborators on the album as they both have worked with T Bone Burnett before.
