Shania wins SMItty award for innovative use of scent in "Still The One" show


 
SHANIA TWAIN WINS THE SMITTY AWARD FOR MOST INNOVATIVE USE OF SCENT MARKETING IN HER LAS VEGAS SHOW SHANIA: STILL THE ONE
 
Nashville, TN (Friday, May 31, 2013) - Shania Twain was announced as the winner of the SMItty Award for Most Innovative Use of Scent Marketing.  It is awarded to a brand owner who has implemented an outstanding use of scent in a way that is new and unexpected.
 
In her Las Vegas Show, SHANIA:  STILL THE ONE, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace Twain infuses the air throughout the show with various specialized scents.  Her own fragrance, Still The One Day and Still The One Night, is wafted throughout the audience and slowly transitions into a saloon scent (leathery and vintage) and then into the smell of a campfire.  Scent machines are strategically placed throughout The Colosseum for audience members to experience the show from all senses.
 
"I'm honored to have received the SMItty Award for the most innovative use of scents in my show, including my new perfume, Still The One Day and Night," said Twain.  "Creating my new show, SHANIA: STILL THE ONE was artistically fulfilling and receiving this award is yet another level of reward I hadn't even imagined.  I'm proud of this unexpected achievement."

But I am sure I've seen it. There are lots of pics of the merchandise in her shop, so the picture of the frangrance was somewhere among those. And maybe it wasn't a pic but a video... I'll try to find it.

I think they are two different fragrances. I remember reading an article and Shania mentions them and explains there is a "daytime" scent and "nighttime" scent. Or maybe it's one fragrance suitable for day and night? I can't remember what she said. I can't find the article...

This article about the award is so confusing as they write two fragrance titles but also say "fragrance is" as in one fragrance. Well, and I cannot find the pics, too. I'll search all my computers tomorrow.

 I was at the May 29th show and it wasn't mentioned.  Maybe she got the award after the show.

I've been looking for the fragrance too. I don't think there were pictures of it when someone showed items for sale in her Vegas gift shop.

Some source wrote in their review that they didn't smell any scent. And if the scents are natural (like the scent of the forest or the campfire) I don't think there will be problems. And the show's been in run for half of the year and no complaints.

I didn't smell anything but I wasn't on the main level. Maybe you have to be close to the stage to smell the scents.

Shania Twain’s Vegas Shows Use Sight, Sound and . . . Smell?

Call it Shania Twain: 4D.

Yes, Shania’s fans at her show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace get to see a great show and hear her songs and stories. But that’s not all, folks.

Seems show producers have scent machines spread throughout the theater. That’s right, at various points in the show, the audience is hit with a variety of smells.

Toward the beginning, Shania’s signature fragrances waft over the audience. Later, there’s a “saloon” smell, described as “leather and vintage,” and the audience also gets campfire smells during the show.

All of this has caught the nose of the fragrance industry. And Shania is now the proud owner of a ScentWorld 2013 SMItty award, given to a fragrance owner who has used a scent “in a way that is new and unexpected”—such as misting a fragrance out over an audience of fans.

So Shania has Grammy trophies, CMA and ACM awards, and now a SMItty. Bet we know which one smells the best. . . .

Nominations Now Being Accepted for Prestigious 2014 Smitty Award for Excellence in Scent & Sensory Marketing - Awards to be Given at ScentWorld 2014, June 12-13, New York

What is the coolest ad or marketing from 2013? Chances are, it involved engaging one or more of the senses in a new and unique way; if it did, nominate it for a SMItty Award, given for excellence in scent and sensory marketing.
