Is that the Billboard Country singles Canadian chart? I can't find it online. I only see Hot 100 (No. 70) and Digital Song Sales (No. 16).

You know I'm actually just so surprised Shania is not getting air play with this single. I know it's not her best song ever, but you'd think it would at least be a top 20 hit that last longer than a week on the chart. I'm wondering if time has moved on where Shania is no longer relavent to radio and to much of the country music world.

Allaccess.com is still not working for 24/7 spins, so there is no way for me to see how well the song is doing until the newest charts come out next week.

I found this interesting:

www.cmt.com/news/1783427/jason-isbell-and-florida-georgia-line-are-back-on-top/

"Returning to the Top 50 country albums rankings are Shania Twain’s Greatest Hits (No. 25), Russell Dickerson’s Yours EP (No. 42), Dylan Scott’s self-titled package (No. 45), The Essential Johnny Cash (No. 48) and Brad Paisley’s Hits Alive (No. 50)."

Seems the single and all the publicity lately is doing good things for sales for Shania. Although we were hoping for more "LATGG" sales on iTunes, I would take album sales any day over a single.

Just some positive news to share in what seems to be a more heavy thread these days.

Well some good radio play news for LATGG in the UK...

LATGG will be added straight to the A-List on BBC Radio 2 starting July 1st.

Songs on the A-List have the heaviest rotation of all songs played at the station during the playlist's week. As well, the song will be Record Of The Week starting the same day which should give it additional spins.

For those not familiar with BBC Radio 2, it has the top radio listenership in the UK. This station is primarily adult contemporary, which is now Shania's target audience in this market. Artists played on BBC Radio 2 tend to be more album-oriented, rather than single-selling.

Still the one: Shania Twain on returning to music after messy divorce

'The way I feel in my heart is just going into my music right now,' she tells CBC News

By Hailey McAdams | CBC News | June 29, 2017

After a painful divorce and a supposed farewell tour in 2015, country superstar Shania Twain is back with new music and a new outlook on life.

"I'm definitely more revealing in this album than ever before," the singer told CBC News on Thursday. "The way I feel in my heart is just going into my music right now. And I'm happy with that.

"I feel good about sharing it and it's good for me, too."

It's a surprise comeback of sorts. NOW, slated for release on Sept. 29, marks Twain's first studio album in 15 years.

The country legend's first single off the album, "Life's About to Get Good", is all about perspective; she is focused on keeping it positive

For the first time in her career, she wrote and co-produced all of the songs on NOW.

"That was a big undertaking," said Twain, "but I welcomed the challenge of that."

"Just saying 'OK, I'm going to take on this challenge, I'm going to do this as an exercise of independence as well, and see what I was made of.'"

As executive producer of the album, Twain worked with producers Jake Gosling (Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran), Ron Aniello (Bruce Springsteen), Jacquire King (Kings of Leon) and songwriter Matthew Koma (Kelly Clarkson).

And it looks like there could be a lot more to come from Twain. The singer has posted about her plans to keep making music on Twitter.

Return to music after divorce

The new album represents an impressive comeback after a tough few years for the singer.

In 2011, Twain announced she would be stepping away from performing, due to a debilitating battle with dysphonia, a condition that affects the vocal chords and causes difficulty in speaking and singing. Earlier this year, the singer explained she had also been suffering from Lyme disease, which, paired with stress, had likely caused her dysphonia.

Twain also made headlines in 2010 when she divorced her long-time husband Robert (Mutt) Lange, who was her producer and musical collaborator. The singer opened up about the relationship in her memoir, From This Moment On, including about the affair between Lange and Twain's good friend Marie-Anne Thiebaud that caused their marriage to crumble.

"The divorce phase really was the straw that broke the camel's back," she told CBC News. "It was like all the layers throughout my life of going through those challenges were just too heavy all of a sudden. And that dam broke, but it also opened up a flood of creativity."

Now things are looking up for the so-called queen of country pop.

In 2016, Twain was awarded Billboard's Women in Music Icon award, as well as CMT's Artist of a Lifetime award.

'The divorce phase really was the straw that broke the camel's back.' - Shania Twain

As the top-selling female country artist of all time, Twain's successful crossover from country to pop paved the way for a number of today's music stars, many of whom she adores

"I love the new girls out there. I love Sia. I love Alessia [Cara], she's wonderful. Shawn Mendes is great," she said.

"I'd love to collaborate with Drake. I don't know how I'm going to manage that … I'll get him somewhere where we can get snowed in or something."

Shania Twain is 'feeling more empowered than ever' and open to touring again

By Stephen Hubbard and Lesley Messer | ABC News | June 30, 2017

Shania Twain has changed her mind about never touring again.

The singer, whose new album, "Now," which will drop Sept. 29, told ABC News that her new music has inspired her to perhaps get back on the road again.

"I'm feeling more empowered I think than I've ever felt in my whole life so now I'm like, 'Well, I need to tour with this music again.' I don't really feel like I can end this chapter with this new music and not tour with it," she told ABC News.

Twain added that when she performed "Life's About to Get Good" at the Stagecoach festival in April, "I was like, 'Oh gosh, this is like picking up where I'd left off!' It felt like I'd been doing this song for years. It felt like it already belonged on one of my other albums, and I [thought], 'I just gotta keep going with it!'"

Twain, 51, who had a two-year residency in Las Vegas from 2012 through 2014, previously said that her 2015 "Rock This Country Tour" would be her last.

However, she said that each experience she has had, personally and professionally, has inspired her next move.

Twain noted that her 2008 split from her ex-husband, producer Mutt Lange, was a "huge change" that helped to "[empower] me to tackle all of these problems and fears." As a result, she did not enlist the help of co-writers for the album -- a first for her.

"I said, 'I'm feeling really strong and I'm just gonna write this album myself,'" she said of "Now." "They're all very, I think, relatable, a lot of them anyway, to what a lot of us do go through, so it makes a good Shania concert song!"

Shania Twain opens up about time away from music, divorce

New Zealand Herald | July 1, 2017

Shania Twain says New Zealand is "definitely going to be my future home" - but she's not settling down anytime soon.

The country superstar is making her comeback to music after 15 years away, including a struggle with dysphonia (a difficulty in speaking), a very public divorce and a rocky road to recovery.

The Man, I Feel Like a Woman hitmaker has spent a decade battling Lyme disease and the resulting damage affected her ability to sing.

Speaking to Jack Tame on Newstalk ZB, Twain revealed: "When I realised that I may never sing again, I was devastated by the thought of that, I was grieving the loss of my voice...I did just feel that I was never going to have it again.

"It's really been a struggle for me, it took a while to, first of all, find a solution and then to slowly build up the confidence to start this all over again...to get where I felt like I could get back on the saddle."

Twain went through extensive therapy to get her voice back and, in 2012 took up a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace for two years, following that up with her Rock This Country Tour in 2015-2016.

She recently released a new single called Life's About to Get Good, a pop country hit about moving on from dark times and, it seems, her extremely public divorce from her then-husband Robert 'Mutt' Lange, who had an affair with Twain's best friend Marie-Ann Thiebaud in 2008.

Twain sings: "It killed me that you'd give your life to be with her / I had to believe that things would get better / It was time to forget you, forever."

And the chorus is ultimately about forgiving, forgetting and living life to the fullest, and that's what Twain's doing now.

She's currently gearing up to release her first album since 2002's Up! this September and a tour may well be on the cards - though whether it'll bring her back to New Zealand is still up in the air.

Twain became something of an honorary Kiwi after she and her ex-husband bought 24,731ha of land between Wanaka and Arrowtown in 2004.

She's spent several years visiting New Zealand and told Tame she has "all kinds of wonderful memories from there", saying "It's definitely going to be my future home, so I do miss it a lot".

"I was just so taken with the colours...it's just stunning. And just the remoteness of some of these high country stations was attractive to me, I really love being isolated and I love nature," she gushes.

Whether she'll return for work though, is a different question, the answer to which is dependant on whether she's able to put an international tour together, but if she does, she promises: "I would absolutely make it to New Zealand" saying, "a piece of my heart is still there."

Several country music stations have told me via phone when I have requested them to play LATGG, that they are being advised by Mercury Nashville to not play the song until the end of July?

If that's true, that's crazy. Never heard of that. So the song is going to fade away and then at the end of the month have a miraculous resurgence? Doesn't make sense.

I agree. The small station that I've been hearing the song has been playing it a lot, but the bigger station said they have the file to play it, but they have been asked to hold it until the end of the month. Personally I think whatever traction it had has passed and the single flopped. This song is Shania's worst charting single since 1993. Even TIYD did better than this.

oh brother relax lol if the big stations were told to not play it until end of July then it will  rise again lol Take a deep breath and don't predict where the song will peak until the label pushes the song at the end of July,  And it does make more sense to start playing the song more at the end of July if the album won't be out till late Sept,     June 16th was way too early to release the song 😲😲😲😲

I don't buy it. What does not releasing the album until late Sept. have anything to do with not playing the song on the radio yet? If it was a hit song they'd be playing it. Period. Most lead singles are released 2-3 months ahead of the album and hit the radio right away (and are successful).

If her label was smart, they'd release another single in late July or early August. Maybe it will have better luck!

I don't really understand the purpose of releasing the single and then the record label telling stations not to play it. If that was the case, they should have just waited to release the song. Unless they have some incredible trick up their sleeve, I'm not entirely certain I believe that either.

In addition, "Life's About to Get Good" is not her worst charting single since 1993. "Life's About to Get Good" debuted at No. 33 on the Billboard Country Charts. "When You Kiss Me" peaked at 60, "I Ain't No Quitter" peaked at 45, and "Today Is Your Day" peaked at 36. Plus, when "Today Is Your Day" first debuted, it was at No. 40. There was an article on Billboard that stated that was her fourth highest debut in her career. "Life's About to Get Good" debuted at 33 which places it as her third highest debut, even beating out "Party for Two" which was a pretty successful single.

Will the music video help the song ? Also if radio won't support the first single what makes anyone think they will support the second single ?

No wonder the song fell off the charts. There is NO promotion at all.
After 15 years she should be on tv almost 24/7 to support the single. The only tv she's done it's been "Today".
I don't buy the thing about playing the song from the end of July on...

Shania Twain Reveals New Album Track List

Singer uses Instagram to unveil the 16 songs that make up 'Now,' her long-awaited comeback album

By Joseph Hudak | Rolling Stone | July 5, 2017

Shania Twain has announced the track list for her comeback album Now. The Nineties country game-changer took to Instagram to post a short video revealing the 16 songs that make up her new LP, set to be released September 29th. "Feels so great to share with you the full tracklisting for my new album #ShaniaNOW!" Twain wrote, pairing the clip with a snippet of her new song "Poor Me," which evokes the Chainsmokers' "Don't Let Me Down."

"Swingin' With My Eyes Closed," a new song Twain debuted on NBC's Today Show in June, opens the album. Other titles include "Light of My Life," "Poor Me," "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl" and "Because of You." According to a June press release, Now was to be issued in two versions: a 12-track standard and a 16-track deluxe.

Last month, the singer shared the album cover for Now, a black-and-white photo that evokes vintage-era Twain in leopard-spotted above-the-elbow gloves.

Twain has said that writing the songs for Now was akin to therapy for the 51-year-old Canadian. Over what she called a dark period of her life, she divorced husband and producer Mutt Lange, lost her voice and struggled with a Lyme disease diagnosis, eventually purging the painful time through songwriting. "It helped me come to terms with a lot of things emotionally," she told Rolling Stone in February. "It's sort of like when you finish crying. When you're done, you're done and you move on."

Here's the announced track list for Now:
1. "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed"
2. "Home Now"
3. "Light of My Life"
4. "Poor Me"
5. "Who's Gonna Be Your Girl"
6. "More Fun"
7. "I'm Alright"
8. "Let's Kiss and Make Up"
9. "Where Do You Think You're Going"
10. "Roll Me on the River"
11. "We Got Something They Don't"
12. "Because of You"
13. "You Can't Buy Love"
14. "Life's About to Get Good"
15. "Soldier"
16. "All in All"

To be honest, I doubt the music video will revive "LATGG". The song basically never had a chance which was what I was afraid of the first time I heard it at Stagecoach. It doesn't fit on Country radio. Frankly, I don't know where it fits.

A guy who received an advanced copy of NOW, says the album is mostly Pop and Rock with only a slight bit of Country. If that's the case, we are going to have the same problem as "Life's About To Get Good" not getting any airplay on Country radio.

And yes, I know her label says it isn't concerned about radio airplay and is aiming for album sales. Well, radio still DRIVES album sales. If people don't hear you "out there" they are less likely to buy your album. Same goes for singles. "LATGG" is a good example.

I think Tommy is right!
Radio still drives album and singles sales; I don't know if a LATGG music video could change the fate of the song (that I like!) without a real help from the radio...

Yes, I think Tommy's right too.
But I'm worried about the album too: if it's not Country enough, radio won't play it. I don't even know if Pop and Rock radio will play her songs, if they're really Pop/Rock. So, the only thing left to push the sales is the promotion. In September all the main TV Shows will come back, so let's hope her label will come up with a strong album promotion, maybe a second single.

About the tracklist, I've noticed that a song previously announced as "Has Anybody Seen My Soldier" now it's simply "Soldier" (Shania during an interview last month said she refers to the song simply as "Soldier", but she does so even with "Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under", she simply calls it "Boots").
And "Swingin' With My Eyes Closed" is back to its original title announced back in February. During his post listening party Podcast, Perez Hilton said the song was simply titled "Swingin'" now.

And last but not least, no song called "Hard to Love".

I just listened to "Don't Let Me Down" by The Chainsmokers... if it's really "Poor Me" the song featured in Shania's posts on Instagram and Facebook, she will really be poor because of the Copyrights she will have to pay to them.

Man, the resemblance is too obvious. no I looked for the authors hoping it would be someone of Shania's producers but no: the song was written by Andrew Taggart, Emily Warren and Scott Harris. Damn, now I'm afraid for her.

Too early to judge. I will wait until the album release on September. But for now, I am just thrilled that we were finally able to see all tracks, and I am loving all the track titles! I am very hopeful in the coming days on how Shania's team will plot the next promotions.

Here is the song. It's waaaaaay too similar to "Poor Me" which was produced by Jake Gosling.

You guys have heard literally only 15 seconds of the song, the lyrics will be completely different and the sound might end up being rock for all we know Lol

Tommy, I had listened to "Don't Let Me Down" just as soon as I had read the news that's why I wrote so. The whole situation is scary now. I'd like her to have at least a good product without bashing stories. Hope she bought the sample otherwise it will be sad.

Here we go again with overreaction by Shania fans lol 😲😲😃😃 First of all that was just a tiny sample of the song lol lol it won't end up sounding anything like the other song i will bet. People were saying the same thing about Kaching and the cash register sound lol lol You people seriously amuse me lol There will be no plagiarism problem and Shania will be just fine. There are billions of song melodies and parts of some songs sound like parts of others from time to time. You don't see many plagiarism cases because it is hard to prove unless most of the song sounds exactly like another song and even then you rarely see a case because maybe the producer or artist have an agreement or talked to the creator of the other song, You guys know nothing at all so take a deep breath. There is nothing to worry about at all.

I mean these kinds of lawsuits are not uncommon and are often successful - but I think usually what happens is they end up crediting the writers of the original song and move on with their lives. They do sound similar but I'm not sure if they sound TOO similar. Either way it's a catchy riff and yeah, we don't know what the rest of the song sounds like yet.

It is very uncommon when compared to the billions of songs created in history lol  and most lawsuits are very unsuccessful. You can't even name me 5 well known artists in the last 20 years who had a successful lawsuit against them. This is a nothing burger just like CNN and there obsession with Russian COLLUSION 😲😲😲😲🙈🙈

You guys (except kevy and a handful of others) are such buzzkills. Yes, the Chainsmokers similarities are there but honestly The Chainsmokers suck. If I hear that I Want Something Like This crap one more time I think I'm gonna lose it. FYI: I heard a remix version of LATGG at a leather party here in NYC and it was a banger. People were loving it. It's a slow rise back to prominence people. Don't worry.

I agree with you Chappy and Kevy. Nothing but Buzzkills. What makes me the most annoyed is the fact that people are so quick to judge the new music and predict that it will fail before it even takes off. The music has been described differently by so many people. I have had a conversation with someone who heard 4 different songs off the album and he described them as country and organic/rootsy and not Pop/Rock at all. I have heard it described by others as pop and rock and retro. I have heard it described by Perez Hilton as Pop songs and Country songs.

Why dont we just wait and hear the album before we make quick judgements? There are handful of people on here that all like to predict that the songs will automaticlly fail on country radio because the record sounds too pop/rock. People are now listening to a 15 second clip of one of the new songs and already deciding that Shania will probably get in trouble for plagerizing someone elses work. Literally a 15 second clip of a song.

People also cant grasp the fact that its not the 90s and early 00s anymore and music sounds different now. I sometimes wonder who the real Shania Twain fans are here. If you're going to judge her and the new music so much, then dont buy it! Pledge all your loyalty to Mutt Lange and dont buy the new music! Go back and play her first 4 albums over and over again. She has done this project all on her own and that by itself, deserves our respect. She is brave. Instead, people are hung up on where the song should be on the charts and measuring the charts as her sucess. The project by itself, is her sucess, and thats where my respect comes towards her. Not a radio station and not the charts.

The reason why LATGG may not be doing well on the charts is because it doesnt have any lyrics about a pickup truck, a back road, dirt road, or two lane road, the tailgate down, in a field by the farm down in the woods, with a cooler full of bud light. That literally describes every single shallow country song on the radio today. They have no meaning and no substance.

I really have no idea why some people are even on here. Nothing but disrespect for Shania since she has come back into the spotlight.
