The biggest talent competition in the country gets EVEN BIGGER! The legendary, highest selling female country star of all time – @shaniatwain joins the judges panel for the all-new season of Canada’s Got Talent, coming spring 2025.
Canadian music icon Shania Twain and comedian Katherine Ryan will be joining the judges’ panel for Season 4 of Canada’s Got Talent, Rogers Sports & Media announced Monday.
“Canada! I’m really excited to discover the amazing talent you have to share,” Twain said in a release. “Canada is well known for having high calibre creative people and it’s my honour to sit back and see you at your best. Let’s go my fellow Canadians!”
Production for the new season will begin this fall and will premiere in spring of 2025. Auditions are now open on Citytv.com.
The latest addition to Canada’s Got Talent was part of a slew of programming announcements that will bring more original content to the network.
“We just wrapped our best season yet for original programming on Citytv, and are excited to build on this success by delivering more compelling stories and familiar homegrown stars to Canadians,” said Hayden Mindell, senior vice president of television at Rogers Sports & Media.
Country Queen Shania Twain is joining Canada's Got Talent as a Judge and Tracey Moore and Cheryl Hickey will host a new program for Canadians. Lindsay Dunn has the story.
I am happy for her but also worried about what this will mean for potential new music. Considering she doesn't seem to make much music during tours or residencies, I find it hard to believe she would make music while busy with the talent show as well.

I think they tape most of the shows in the Fall and begin airing in the Spring. Then they have some live shows in May to wrap up the season.

“Canada’s Got Talent” is returning to Niagara Falls and Canadian icon Shania Twain will be among the judges.
Filming for the show’s fourth season starts Oct. 22 at the OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino and continues to Oct. 27.
Twain, one of the most successful country artists in music history, will join comedian Katherine Ryan as newcomers to the judges’ table, replacing WWE star Trish Stratus and YouTube star Lilly Singh after three seasons.
Judges Howie Mandel and rapper Kardinal Offishall will be returning, along with host Lindsay Ell.
After two rounds of filming at Fallsview — auditions and semifinals — the show will premiere in the spring of 2025 on Citytv. The two-hour season finale will air live from Fallsview Casino, likely in May.
“We can’t wait to see the latest crop of remarkable Canadian talent grace our stage in Niagara,” said executive producer Scott McGillivray. “We hope to see people from the region come out and join us in the audience for auditions.”
“Canada’s Got Talent” initially aired on Citytv in 2012, with Martin Short and Niagara Falls composer Stephan Moccio among the judges. It didn’t get picked up for a second season.
A revamped version of the show started filming at Fallsview Casino’s Avalon Theatre in the fall of 2021. When it aired the following spring, it was an instant success, becoming Citytv’s most-watched original program in a decade.
Filming shifted to the casino’s OLG Stage the next year, making “Canada’s Got Talent” the first production at the new 5,000-seat, $130 million venue.
The first two seasons of the show’s new era had a top prize of $150,000 for the winner. Last season that took a dramatic leap, with Rogers putting up $1 million for the winner. Prince Albert, Saskatchewan singer Rebecca Strong ended up on top during the finale in May.
When reached Friday, a spokesperson for the show could not confirm whether Season 4 will also come with a $1-million prize.
