Well Shania has set another ALL TIME record. Not only have her sales topped 65,000,000 but never before in recorded music history has anyone EVER sold over 10,000,000 sales on 3 consecutive releases. I think if she does give us new music,that it will be tough to make it 4 in a row. With all the free downoads nowadays by those"so called fans" it would make it pretty tough to do it again... I know WE would all buy it though.. It would be SOOOO nice to touch it,read it,.....What the H...I would even kiss it....Bob
I know what you mean Bob. That is a fantastic record for Shania. I hope it does not put too much pressure on her for her next cd. I think the world is expecting a lot from her. I am hoping we will get both versions (country and pop) again. I like being able to play both versions. I am sure itching for new music from her though. But having said that if I had to wait until next year I could do that too. I would not like it but I could wait. I think it will be hard to sell that many cds because of the illegal down loads and the legal downloads. Now adays you don't have to buy the whole cd....you can just buy (download) the songs you like most. I hope her fans come out of the woodwork and buy her cd. Hopefully it will sell well. Is it not great that her perfume sold well. That should indicate her music will sell well too. Hurray up and come back Shania we miss you so much.

I would appreciate knowing too as I have seen the figure 85 million cds as well. Still, to sell 65 million cds is phenomenal considering she did this with 4 cds.
Hey lulu... Not quite sure...The figures I read online talk about 65,000,000 but you are not the first to mention this 85 figure. Again I kind of feel the "landmark" portion is the 3 consecutive 10,000,000 figure which seems what the buzz is really all about... Anything on this one Tommy from your data...Bob
I actually recall Tommy use to display the 85 million estimate at the top of the homepage, but recently changed it to 65 million.
I think I heard Celine has sold something like 120 million worldwide, Madonna 200 million. So I would think a superstar like Shania by now could reach 80 some million. It was just an observation I felt like addressing. Maybe something of more comfort is what I intended.
Yes indeed, the 3 consecutive diamond albums is an amazing achievement unmatched and done only once by miss Shania, but one little detail we have to remember is UP sold 5.6 million as a single and has been counted twice. I guess those are the rules of the RIAA though, and other albums on the all-time best sellers list have that technically as well including a couple albums ahead of Come On Over.
