Some did not react at all, and now looking back, maybe that was smart until things settled down and the details got figured out. I thought most of us supported her pretty well. I am proud of my immediate response and never doubted her as my reply to it shows. Certainly not everyone can say that,can we Walter. Some were in initial shock on their first reply but when common sense kicked in,they came back with a more postive take.
I think what it all comes down to,is having a true read on Shania as a person,as apposed to someone with just a ton of record sales... I was surprised Tommy would read some little story and believe it, to the point of making a personal comment that it looks like Shania might be finished forever. Thought he knew the woman better than that and what she is made of... Walter...Well that was an easy one to predict...How Walter can say they support someone and say those kind of things ALL day about her I have NO idea. WATCH the tone change once conflicting reports started to filter in on Friday... Angie started to wobble a bit, but in fairness to her she was no doubt in shock and was being punched out by Walter at the same time.. I would like to thank Lulu who immediately backed me up when I tried to get Angie back onto her feet as we BOTH typed as hard as we could the wordsYOU KNOW THE WOMAN ANGIE. In the end that what it all comes down to knowing the woman or not... Needless to say some of us do and some sure do not. Bob

Needless to say I am on a role this morning so will keep it going. As I have said before,I come to this site for one reason and one reason ONLY...Shania Twain..... She brought music BACK to my life and what a great gift that is... I don't come here to make friends as I have lots of them in my personal life.. As I have said before Walter could be a 75 year old grandmother or a 25 year old male. I even made this point before when a said that a member who identified herself as By Me could have been a monkey that learned to type. Yes,it is only normal to have alliances on forum sites. Generally I would suggest that they are usually with ones that portray thoughts that are along you way of thinking. But in the end none of us are ever going to be anything but online Shania forum members. It is because of this that I have no issue with going after Tommy/Walter or anyone else if I feel they are not reflecting my idea of how a Shania fan should react to a day like we had this Thursday.. All I do is react to members as I see them... Yes I will push for more involvement for those who sit on the sidelines,challenge guests to become members,go after members who slaughter Shania,and bond with those who truely support her through thick and thin. I am proud to say...I would not think of supporting her in ANY other way.... I will always remember Shania when she said in her early days that it was the"footsoldiers" that put her where she is today.. Those that overloaded the radio stations and demanded that her music be played when country music was trying to destroy her... Proudly to say.. I was one of them and still am...Even last Thursday...Bob

Reminds me of the story of Moses as in the Ten Commandments fim with Charlton Heston. People were led to the promise land and with their own eyes and ears witnessed all God's greatness and power. Sort of like what Shania has done with music and her style and attitude on many levels. Yet people still faultered and ignored all that they had witnessed in the past. Shame on these people to think harshly and lose faith.

Kingwalter has his own style, we all need to deal with it. I have defended Shania for a decade when people have bashed her even though she showed signs of total snubbing the fans. I was very naive too once. Now I still support her but I am not naive and I know she really doesn't care about the fans or music. If I am wrong then I will be proven wrong in the next few months when she finally releases an album. But actions speak louder than words and Shania does not care about music or the fans.
Well she might not care about you but she cares the rest of us... She even sends us Christmas cards and once even said I have the best fans in the world and I owe everything to them. Walter she LOVES us...Bob

She cares enough to make the next cd special and if it takes until next year for that than so be it. It is my opinion for what its worth, the next cd will come out next year. It does not mean Shania is a liar...she has always said she is working on new music but what was also evident was that she does not adhere to a time table when its finished its finished and only she will know when. She never lied to us....however life happens and things change for all of us.

lmao!!! Of course she lied. She contradicts herself and mislead the fans all the time. Some Shania fans will defend her over everything. Life happens to everyone and that has to be the stupidest excuse I have ever heard. It is called being lazy and complacent and no motivation. How can someone be called an artists and not perform for 6 years? Shania makes every excuse in the book for not making music. Even after 911 she said to Mutt that she didn't even want to make music but Mutt convinced her to make the UP cd. She just seems very lazy,complacent,no motivation and not really into music. Actions speak louder than words and Shania's actions prove she does not care about music or the fans. It gets really tiresome with all the lame excuses her fans come up with. Even Shania doesn't use some of those excuses, she just doesn't say anything at all and counts her money lol!! Lets be honest fans, Shania lost interest in music even before UP was released, she really is not into music despite what she says. Once again, actions speak louder than words. It has nothing to do with family or relaxing which she has had plenty of over the last many years. It is quite as simple as she is not interested in music or the fuss of having to tour for her fans. She made her money now she wants to be left alone. Even her label and management are sick of defending an artist who lies and is so lazy.
Walter, your view of life is so black and white. You are so rigid in your beliefs. It is so wrong to blast shania with those beliefs. I believe Shania has always wanted to get and album out sooner. but life some how got in the way. (Mutt is famous for taking his time with albums...at one point def leppard was ready to fire him he took so long they are glad they waited as the cd went on to be the biggest sellar in their career). Shania has often said "When is a painting finished?" Think about that. She is an artist her cd will be ready when she and mutt feel it will be ready. I know you think she will have a cd out this year. I think she will have one out in 2009. I hope you are right though as I am so keen to get new music from her. I believe Shania has always been honest with her fans. She has never given an exact date as to when her cd will be ready. She has been working on it and writing new music for it. That is enough for me. So sit back and have a cold beer and relax. Its not worth getting into a knot over it.
The truth has to lie somewhere in the middle although I lean closer to lulu's take yet Walter is right that Shania was not too thrilled before UP and her jump and spring wasn't as lively in her return, to be so involved publicly as say in meet and greets during UP as it was during COO for example. Shania is not the go getter she once was, priorities change, she will continue working, but at a slower pace. Simply put... she's content.
Life is too short and some people want a more even balance. The hunger wilderness years are over, let the good times roll. Well deserved.
I've been thinking about this hard the last few days and I think I may have an idea about a date for her next album. My prediction is November 2115, as Shania will be able to celebrate reaching her 50th birthday and Eja will be able to look after himself by that time. I'm sure the Shania cultists will still be waiting for her and their excuses will be even more absurd. What do you think Walter? Do you think 2115 is a very credible prediction by myself?
All jokes aside, I think we'll hear new material from Shania maybe next year. I think the comment she made about the sabatical was half true from her, but she's still working on new songs, just not pressuring herself and just chilling out.
