To begin I would like to thank those of you who chose to take the time yesterday to private message me. I would say that from viewing visitor history stats that those that replied to me in private was shocking and I should admit touching. Thank you all for your support in my drive to make this is nicer place to visit.. Having said that I have failed in my attempt.. As you may have read(see QUESTIONS section)one of the privates that I recieved yesterday is from a very good friend of Tommys who advised me she no longer visits or posts because of how she is treated on this site. Just one example of the type of things that were said to me yesterday.
I am left in a really tough spot.. If I leave I will feel I have not only let SOME members down as well as Shania. The flip side is I just can't deal with the site rules.. In the end after alot of thought I have decided to stay but I wan't to make it very clear why... It was not because of Tommys decision that he explained yesterday under the QUESTIONS sections of this site. Yesterday he clearly stated that to this point he does not see any issues with personal attacks. I can live with that because members such as his good friend can just not visit. That I sure hate to see but I can live with it....BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT....What I can not deal with is his clear position on free speech on this site... It was this clear decision as stated yesterday that will keep me ON THIS SITE.... Tommy.. I am about to post on this site what in my opinion is a free speech statement and hopefully ALL will see how wrong it is when it goes TOO FAR Scenario...... A 10 year old viewer who lives a breaths Shania visits Tommys as a VIEWER... The problem is..this 10 year old little girl is dying.. 6 months ago this girl was given the chance to meet with Shania(her hero) which we all know Shania does... This is what this young influential child is allowed to read on this site as the result of free speech in accordance with site rules... IN MY OPINION AS FAR AS SHANIA SEEING DYING KIDS .....MAKE ME LAUGH.... CAN"T YOU SEE FOLKS.... IT IS A PHOTO OPP. SHE SPENDS 5 MINUTES WITH SOME KID AND SELLS ANOTHER 10000000 CD's.
THIS IS WHY I AM REMAINING ON THIS SITE.... Folks ...I know my friends and my enemies on this site... In life it is always hard to find people to follow the person carrying the flag.. BUT... Sometimes in life we all need to stand up and be counted.. Personally I believe if you were to poll 1000 people..Shania fans or not..Most if not all would say...Bob..You are right.. If I am wrong it is just a case that I don't really understand free speech. Now I know that it is easy to support me in private message.. Another to do it on line. Having said that I personally feel it is important that those who agree with me to reply and say it.. I really am not holding my breath on this as I understand life and how things work.. HOWEVER..In the end it does not matter if every single member replies and says Tommy.. Bob is right here, That example he gave is just too much... It does not matter because if Tommys view of free speech is different from ours that is his right and his site.. I know for one that I will be joining his good friend but it will only be when I take my final breath....Nothing to do with Tommy...Its about Shania..Bob
I regret that I neglected to thank Lulu for her comments yesterday when she came aboard under my Bob Sabbatical posting. I understand that all people are different but have to say it is woman with strength that I am attracted to. Alot of men are intimidated by strong woman.. I am not one of those gun wheeling,muscle car type men with this kind of issue. That is why I have always been attracted to Lulu as a person.. Needless to say Shania and if I may say Natalie Maines for sure(better leave that one though) are other in my opinion great examples of strong woman ANYHOW.. Thank you Lulu for saying what Tommys "other" friend has also cried out as to what action must be taken to clean this site up... Others that sit back in silence.. No problem.. I understand we are all different makeups.. For those in the Walter camp(not hard to figure out now) please be advised that I will move forward on this site as if you do not exist...Bob
Hey Tommy..... Know your upset with things right now.. I also know timing in life is everything and right now my timing is REALLY bad....But.. I want to side with you a bit... I know I have pushed you hard as of late.. You can choose to consider me a villian or a good guy.. I can't control that.... But Tommy, Folks... I have to say running this site can not be easy.. My example of the 10 year old I am sure makes Tommy sick.. Why... Because Tommy IS a good guy and would hate to think some dying child could have that special Shania moment stolen due to B.Sh. free speech... BUT... Where does Tommy draw that line.. Tommy I know it is hard.. BUT... This stuff HAS to be addressed... This line of yours, that if it is "his" opinion has to be dealt with in a very serious manner or at least thought out VERY carefully... Again Tommy I am only doing what my heart tells me is right.. It is NOT about causing tension on this site.. It is about helping to improve it... Nothing more I can say..Bob
