Needless to say we have discussed many times the reason some choose to attend these charity gigs... Some will say it is only for publicity..Others will say it because they are wonderful caring individuals... Personally I have no idea so won't go down that road but will say that alot of people will feel that this will be a show they won't miss .. If it can raise some charity money all the better... As far as Shania...Maybe she won't be there but we will never know if a cheque for a few million isn't already in the mail VS the performers who"possibly" donated nothing but there time... Bob
There's no way they'll get Shania on that show. Maybe if she had new music to promote there would be a chance, but not while she on her "sabatical".
To be honest big hitters and huge stars like Shania don't usually go on the Idol shows. I must admit looking at that list of upcoming performers I was very surprised to see Bono's name there. I wouldn't have thought an Icon like him would've appeared on a talentless show like AI. Maybe he has new U2 music to promote or another policical cause to bore us all with.
he actually SEEMS to be really into this kind of stuff.. I really don't follow him that close but governments all over the world are terrified of him as he forces them to be accountable.. I know he would blow our Prime Minister off his chair and would have Bush studdering real good. To me he seems like the real deal.. Having said that I have certainly been tricked before and no doubt will be again...Bob
I've always enjoyed the music of U2 but there's no doubt about the size of Bono's ego. I think he hung around Bob Geldof in the 80's and alot of it rubbed off on him. I'm not knocking him if he really can make a difference, but I just find it odd how he rose to this influential position in world affairs all of a sudden in the last few years. I wonder what his fellow bandmates make of it all?
