It is always intresting to get a different perspective on issues from different countries.. Maybe Lulu can help me out on this one with us both being canucks. Keep in Mind Lulu is about 3000 miles away from me..Vancouver.. Me..Near Toronto.. COUNTRY MUSIC... I am basing this on what I see and know as fact...At least in Toronto..I would LOVE to hear comments on this from around the world to see the comparison. CONCERTS...This should give you a good concept of how popular country is or is not in Toronto..... SHANIA TWAIN - AIR CANADA CENTRE(20,000 seats).. SOLD OUT 2 SHOWS..... DIXIE CHICKS-AIR CANADA(20,000 seats)...Accidents tour...SOLD OUT 2 shows... FAITH AND TIM AIR CANADA(20,000 seats)...SOLD OUT KEITH URBAN(Copps Coll. (about 14,000 seats) SOLD OUT...FLATTS....Air Canada(20,000 seats)..Tickets available at show time but 90 percent sold out. Martina and Leann...CASINO RAMA (about 5000 seats).. SOLD OUT BUT TOOK ABOUT 3 MONTHS TO DO SO
I could go on and on but have hit A LOT of the majors.... Bottom line...In Toronto VERY FEW can sell out a 20,000 seat venue... Not sure if this is true but I get the feeling in US in a 20,000 seat facility people like Allan J, Toby K, Brad P,Carrie U, and so on WOULD ALL sell out.. TRUST ME... Not a chance in Toronto..Yes they are popular but in no way could sell out these large venues....Bob
Hi Bob, been awhile ago i've got here because i was in the hospital for more than a week.i had a bloodinfection so it was a very bad thing that happend to me in Praag (Tsjech republik).Was there for more than 3 weeks for my job.Now i'm home for a week and than have to go back for a few weeks more.Btw even in Praag they play Shania's music.

Yes marco, hope you are feeling well soon. Yes Bob, few people can sell out a 20,000 seat arena. You stated it perfectly. Shania when she comes to do a show in Vancouver ends up doing 2 shows because the first sells out fast. I think country music is extremely popular in Canada. In B.C. the biggest radio station is our country music station. Yup we love our country music radio out here on the west coast too.
WOW.. Let me get this right.. In Vancouver country is HUGE???... Lulu...As you know, due to our massive size and low population it can get REALLY tough to understand the pulse of this nation... In Toronto if you are Allan Jackson you are pretty much in as red shag carpet.. I assume Vancouver is different...Do I have that right??... For our US friends( so you can get what I mean talking to Lulu) my perception is in L.A. country is NOT cool but in Dallas it is... Again... This might be TOTALLY wrong but it is a perception of the US that most canadaians would have... Tommy jump in on this.. I see Atlanta as a modern state of the art city... Not really country..Just how out of touch as a Canadian am I with respect to country music in the US

Back to topic:Country music in a small country like Belgium isn't that easy because not that much concerts here at all .Hope Shania will tour again someday than i will be the first to get a ticket .Shania was touring here in 2004 march and i was there with my wife.Sold out 20000 people enjoy here concert.So you see country music lives in Belgium to.Sins than my wife loves her too and my kid also.
