It was so nice of Shania to post this letter. It also confirms that her heart has been broken. I really feel for her as there are no winners in divorce. She has now confirmed to all of us that the affair is true. I cannot think of any other reason that her heart would be described as broken. As well, I know People would never have printed this story if they were not certain of their facts. My heart goes out to her during this difficult time. I hope she gets full custody of Eja. I really hope this is not a messy divorce. God Bless her and her family

It seems legit to me.

It's great that she sent out this message--just to let eveyone know where her mind is, and how grateful she is of all the encouragement and prayers. Thank goodness she knows the best way to come out of this is through music, and we are all anxious to see what becomes of that. :)

What a beautiful women she is! Through this difficult time, I did not expect at all for her to send a personal message to her fans! Truely amazing. I feel so upset to know that she is hurting, but I am so relieved to know she is with family and friends. I know she will get through this and come out the other end stronger than ever! AND I am sure it will show. I think we can expect so much from her in the coming years. I will be proud to be her fan!

And a message for Tommy: Here in New Zealand the national magazine has an article about Shania's spilt in the latest issue. I doesnt have anything in it that we dont already know, but would you be interested in scans? I can go out and buy it if you wish :D

Shania has had worse stuff written about her in the past, and she's never acted like this.

Kay, I don't mean to sound cruel, but you really do need to face reality. Shania and Mutt split. It's not the media's fault at all. If media sources such as People magazine were printing lies about this situation, Shania could have EASILY corrected them, right from the start. There are literally hundreds of media outlets that Shania could go to and set the record straight. But she's not doing this. She's not disputing what the media are saying. For her to do nothing while her husband and the father of her child is being continuously trashed by the media and by fans around the world would make her a horrible wife and mother if the reports of Mutt's cheating were untrue. And I don't believe that Shania is a horrible wife and mother.

Shania and Mutt are no longer together. That's reality. Will they get back together in the future? Nobody knows, but it doesn't look good. Based upon Shania's own words in her recent statement on her website, it really sounds as if she's going to move on, without Mutt. Her fans should move on too.

Shania Twain has taken to her official website to thank fans for their support during her split from husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange. This is the first time the singer has addressed the issue publicly since confirming the separation on May 15. "Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength," she writes. "Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life." Shania adds that music has been "my therapy" throughout the personal upheaval. I'm praying for a miracle on father's day that Mutt realizes what an ass he has been and begs, pleads and even shows his face to the media on how sorry and wrong he has been. Shania deserves a miracle. He should even turn off his soccer games to take care of this. If he can't do it. He isn't worth the heartache.She should take the happy moments she has and move on, don't look back. Sometimes splitting is better than living with a controlling, mentally abusive husband. I guess he never expected after all this time that people still loved her. Why can we see all the good in her and he can't??

Amanda i know what you mean about those 'fans' that are accusing shania of lying,it is outrageous to believe that shania would trash Mutt's name, the father of her only child, just to stay on the top like she's some B- rate star,she doesn't need that,she's already the biggest in America.

Yes, it is sick that some are actually thinking Shania staged this separation. Her life as she knew it is over. She now needs to carve out a new life for her and her son and her music. I just can't understand how people could think this is a farce.

Shania will not or every staged a separtion,for publicity. Any fans that think this, is no fan of hers.I have been follow her career for the last nineteen years. I Will still support her even if she stops making C.D. OR TOURS.

I have to admit, the publicity thing did come to my mind for a while (I never knew others were thinking the same too), but I quickly realised that it would be a stupid thing to do.
I don't know Shania or Mutt personally, so I can't say that they'd do that or not, but from what I DO know, I really believe that this was no publicity stunt. I don't believe that Shania would do something like that.

I think it was a measure of how sad and hurt she was. I think you only realise how important your fans are, when you  reach a real crisis point. This is the first big personal crisis she's had as a big star.

Shania Twain is opening up to fans for the first time about her "broken heart" after splitting from her husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, last year after 14 years of marriage.

"As I am sure you have seen or heard; I am going through a rough time personally in my life," the country star writes in a message to fans posted on her Web site Thursday. "I wanted you all to know that I could not be getting through this without you. Your letters, emails and words of encouragement give me strength. Your overwhelming support reminds me to smile, no matter how deep the pain and to always be grateful for all the beautiful blessings in my life."

Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, who have a 6-year-old son, announced their separation last month. Sources tell PEOPLE that Lange's relationship with another women, Twain's close friend Marie-Anne Thiébaud, was the reason behind the split. Both Lange and Thiébaud have denied an affair.

"I have so much to say but I know the best way for me to speak is through my music," continues Twain. "This is my therapy, my passion, and my love. I look forward to sharing it with all of you as I begin this new journey.

I need some time to heal this broken heart but make no mistake; I will be back and hopefully stronger than ever. Thank you my friends, from the bottom of my heart."
