Shania Twain Is Singing the Blues

Two months after her split from producer-songwriter husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, Shania Twain has found strength in the two things that mean the most to her � her 6-year-old son, Eja D'Angelo, and her music.

"She's spending as much time with Eja as possible and hasn't put down her guitar since the split," a source close to singer tells PEOPLE. "The songs are pouring out of her."

No doubt some of them � like many great country songs � are inspired by heartache. Twain, 42, announced her separation from Lange, 59, in May, after she found out about his alleged affair with one of her best friends.

Twain is also keeping busy shopping and traveling. The now-single singer was recently spotted buying lingerie at a Holt Renfrew store in her native Canada. She's also been to the Caribbean, where she has a villa, and to Switzerland, where she and Lange once lived together.

Last weekend, Canadian fans were surprised to see their homegrown talent whiz through the Toronto airport wearing dark shades, but also sporting a big smile.

Shania has never been one to write about negative experiences because she wants her music to be positive and uplifting, but now is a good a time as any to share with us her heartbreak.

Shania Twains Break-Up Makes for Good Country Music

They say that in all bad situations theres a silver lining, and in the case of Shania Twain, the silver lining of her split from her husband may be a new hit record! Apparently, ever since the split, singer/songwriter Shania Twain has been bitten by the inspiration bug, with countless new songs pouring out of her.

Earlier this summer, the 42 year-old Twain split from her husband of seven years, music producer, Robert Mutt Lange who is 59 years-old. It is widely believed that the reason behind the split was an affair he was carrying on with the couples former personal assistant, (who was also Shania Twains former friend), Marie-Anne Thi�baud. Thiebaud managed the couples chateau in Switzerland. Lange has denied that there was an affairbut nobody believes him.

A source close to the singer, told People magazine that writing music and spending time with her six year-old son Eja DAngelo has been helping to get Shania Twain through the dark times. Said the source, She's spending as much time with Eja as possible and hasn't put down her guitar since the split. The songs are pouring out of her.

Shania Twain is no stranger to using life as inspiration, in fact she co-wrote her hit song Still the One with Lange, based on their relationship. We have a feeling were going to be hearing many new songs inspired by the split- and were looking forward to titles like, Mutt Put Me in a Rut, climbing to the top of the billboard charts. And while Shania Twain is a newly single gal, the singer certainly isnt holing up inside. She was recently spotted in Canada buying lingerie, and has also traveled to the Caribbean and to Switzerland, where she has homes in both locations.

Nice to know that the split hasnt stopped Shania Twain from doing some serious globetrotting. Keep on singing Shania!
