"Elvis Presley Christmas Duets" pairs the voice of Presley with the likes of Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes both of whom were born after the musical legend had died. Martina McBride, Sara Evans, and Wynonna Judd also lend their voices to the tunes. Underwood 'duets' with Presley on "I'll be Home for Christmas," while Rimes takes on "Here Comes Santa Claus" and McBride croons with the King on the Presley favorite "Blue Christmas."
Additional tracks include: "Silent Night" with Evans; "Santa Claus is Back In Town" with Judd; "Merry Christmas Baby" with Gretchen Wilson; "Silver Bells" with Anne Murray; "White Christmas" with Amy Grant; and "O Little Town" with Karen Fairchild and Kimberly Schlapman of Little Big Town.
The songs are being recorded in Nashville's RCA Studio Bthe same studio where Elvis recorded his original 1971 Christmas sessions. "We are so pleased that these accomplished artists are collaborating with Elvis in this unique way to make exciting new versions of his Christmas songs," Priscilla Presley said in a press release. "I am sure Elvis would be proud to have worked with them."
Tracks from the album will be previewed Aug. 14 during the 2008 Elvis Week in Memphis.
What did she do on that show, I missed it?? Is it on you tube?? I was looking at Anne Murray's duets yesterday and it listed Robert Lange as a producer. Would that just be for Shania's song? Also someone said he was a producer for Bon Jovi?? Is that true? Shania is looking good these days!!! No bags under her eyes, no doped up look, dressing well, holding her head and shoulders high. She is a true lady. Cmt should give her the humanitarian award for all she has done for others especially children. Can we her fans help make that happen??Start collecting all the stories of fans that have been helped by her music, all the areas she has donated time, money to, write to CMT, record producers etc. I always believe in the power of one. If one person can make things happen, surely with everyone on this site that loves and respects this lady so ,we could have a more noble cause to work for rather than come on this site and complain and fight. { And I add that I am guilty as anyone in that area.}
what a lovely post Linda, i've always wondered how come shania hasn't received this award yet,that is totally weird. well at least she has received our heart's award and that's more importand,we will respect her no matter what,i for one will.

Mutt probably has credit just on that one Shania duet which of course was pieced together from Switzerland to Canada. Shania was one of the few ladies that didn't actually join Anne in the studio to record it together. Mutt seems to like working this way and Shania in recent years on these projects has lend her voice without ever leaving home. P42 was the exception. I never really cared for that, it seemed a bit artificial piecing it that way. I hope that changes now for Shania and if she does future duets, that she will be with the other person in studio together. The good ol' fashioned way.
Love the post Linda. Shania looks so radiant, no bags under the eyes, no doped up embarrassing look, great complexion, healthy, just smiling with confidence, head and shoulders up high just as you said and dressing accordingly. See Britney, Lindsey, Paris, ect, this is the example of class and dignity you women should carry yourself with. Shania is indeed a lady.
I too have always felt why doesn't the country music award industry ever consider Shania for Humanitarian? She received the Order of Canada and many other recognitions for her charity work, devotion to changing lives for the better and especially her work with children. Why the industry denies her this on top of everything else I'll never understand.
unfortunately, shania is still not really liked by msny in the acadamy it is so unlikely that nashville will reward her for her charity work and that is a shame
