Shania Twain Might Have the Hottest Country Song Someday
By: Craig Shelburne
Ive been looking at list of the hottest country songs in the last 50 years by Billboard magazine, and Shania Twains Youre Still the One is already at No. 3, even though its only 10 years old. However, if she wants to claim the top spot someday, shes got her work cut out for her. Johnny Hortons The Battle of New Orleans, the enduring smash hit from 1959, is No. 1. (Funny, I never thought Id write hottest and Johnny Horton in the same story.) Kenny Rogers Lady is No. 2. Great. Now Ill have that song in my head all day: Let me hold you in my arms fa-ah-ah evermore
A song like YSTO just goes to show it's staying power, this was also her most intimate as it reflected her own relationship with her then husband, Mutt.
