I suppose we can only try our best as a site to help out here and I have no doubt that we have the contacts to make her management team aware of the situation. Maybe Tommy you could fire off Angie an email...Things like that. It is not as if Shania has not met before with kids in tough situations so who knows,maybe we as a site can help make a wish come true..Bobby boy

Youngster fighting illness is hoping to meet Shania

Where do I start?

I have a 10-year-old nephew, Nicholas Fex, who currently lives in Sudbury.

He has been fighting for his life since birth -- literally.

Although he is quite sick with scoliosis, chronic lung disease and spina bifida he continues to smile through it all.

It must also be said he is a huge Shania Twain fan!

His aunt Kim Comeau recently started a Facebook group "Looking for Shania Twain" in his honour.

He disclosed to her recently that he would love nothing more than to meet the superstar that he so adores.

We're talking about a little guy who has lived and suffered more than any of us ever should in his short 10 years.

He is described by family and friends, as happy go lucky, always smiling, and very loving.

Even when he recently went through his 10th major operation he gave his mom Lyne a smile to show everyone what a trooper he really is.

Everyone loves this little man immensely and we are hoping someone out there can help make his dream come true!

If you have any ideas or suggestions that I can pass along to Lyne that would be so appreciated.

Actually it shouldnt' matter if the kid was from Timmins or anywhere. Most celebs will find the time.Afterall it is the fans who gave them their lifestyle.
I don't think Shania is cold blooded or heartless, she just lost touch with reality once she got closed off in her private life in Europe.
I don't know whats going on in her mind.Maybe she rationalized to herself that her problems are worse than others.
Shania is one very luck.luck person with all of her wealth, all of her health and with fans that still support her even though she has tried to lose her fans base by vanishing.
Her problems are very small when you compare it to this child or milions of others who have smiles on their faces while they are going through life threatening situations.

But I also realize we can't force somebody to be something they are not.
If Shania doesn't want to help out then we can't force her.
Just like if she doesn't want to make music and is not interested in making music we can't force her.
But what this story really points out to me is how small and tiny Shania's problems are when you compare it to this child or many other children or people in this world.
Shania has it all(health,wealth,family), and these kids have practically nothing.

How about Make-A- Wish foundation?

Actually, Shania visits children a lot through Make-A-Wish.  Make-A-Wish knows to contact Q.  Shania just doesn't advertise her visits w/sick children like we've all seen some celebs do.

If Shania sister Carrie works at a pharmacy in Huntsvill. Maybe somebody thats lives nearby can go and tell Carrie the story about the boy fighting illness hoping to meet Shania. Carrie can give the message to Shania.

I doubt the management will pass the message to Shania. They have not done it before. I have a feeling her management and label has expired. Basic contract is for 5 years. They unusual do not want to have a commitment longer then 5 years. I am tell you what I feel, I hope I am total wrong. If I am wrong I am sorry.

For those who remember and have seen the CMT Live and Up! Front special she appeared on back in 2002 (Elissa Lansdell was one of the hosts), Shania had sent a personal letter to someone's Uncle Murray in hospital (and it was read out at his funeral) and his family commented on how really touched they were for her doing this, it meant so much to him. Although this is just an example, she's not as cold or heartless as some are saying about her on this board.

Maureen hurry up and call the travel agency need the first flight out to see my future sisterlaw Carrie. Need a rental car to take me to the pharmacy. HURRY, HURRY, HURRY UP! Can waste a minute.

Got my ticket, I hope nobody is lying about Carrie working there. See you when I get back.

Nobody has to broadcast anything. If she sees this kid then  the news will get out and the public will know.
His aunt or the person who wrote that letter will say that Shania met him if she did.
People will follow up on this story to see if Shania met him.
So it is bad P.R. if Shania doesn't see this kid. So I expect her to meet this kid because if she doesn't then she will look cold hearted.

The ball starting rolling down the hill with everbody getting envolved so there is no way that Shania won't meet this kid.
I would be in total shock if this kid didn't get his wish.

You won't see any picture even if she does meet him.

You would of heard something by now from the aunt or somebody if Shania even contacted anyone to meet the kid.
I guess Shania is too busy feeling sorry for herself she can't make a sick kids dream come true.

 That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.Maybe if she met him it would give her reality check. Not to mention it has been  half  a year or longer since the split.
The excuses you come up with are more than crazy.

She needed to travel over the summer to help clear her mind from the stress that comes as a result of a marriage breakdown and possibly as inspiration for her song-writing, and she didn't just shop, she did other things as well.

You make it sound as if Shania's a real monster in your opinion.

Yeah, not only does is sound selish, it is selfish. And I can't see anyone who would defend her if this was true.
Who the heck cares if she wants private time. Is that why she went shopping and travelling all summer?
She can't find time to see a sick and dying  kid because she split with Mutt 6 months ago? lol!!!
What really absurd is how anyone can defend Shania's actions the last 6 years.
But to make an excuse for why she can't see a dying kid and make his dream come true is beyond selfish, it is cruel.
Nothing in Shania's life could even compare to what this kid is going through.
Fans like you turn people off of Shania because of the over zealous defense of her.
