I'll be very surprised if she does show up. Her PR people may request reporters not to ask Shania any questions about her personal life and to only discuss any new music if she so chooses to bring it up.

The CMA Awards will be held at the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville on Nov. 12 during a live broadcast on ABC. It was the third-highest rated awards show last year, behind the Academy Awards and the Grammys. This year's show will be shot in high definition and broadcast in 720 Progressive (720P), ABC's selected HDTV format, with 5.1 channel surround sound. In addition, the Horizon Award -- which has been given out since 1981 -- has been renamed the best new artist award.

I hope it's Shania and not Jessica Simpson One of the sites says taylor Swift is going to do a show with Led Zepplin. Hope it's not them either. I think Shania could be ready by now, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Some say it's too soon for her to come back and that she might not be ready, so it's hard to tell.

Well if Mutt can go play with the boys in the studio (Nickelback) then Shania could be ready to get back and show she's alive. November will mark roughly six months since the separation announcement.

Either way I only wish her the best.

Jake Owen to Host CMA Special

Jake Owen is slated to co-host the daily abc.com special, The Countdown to Country Musics Biggest Night, Nov. 513 at cmawards.com.
Jake, who hosted abc.coms Nashville Nights special for this years CMA Music Festival, will take on the hosting role again with labelmate Chuck Wicks and former Miss Tennessee, Ashley Eicher. During the daily five-minute shows, Jake and his co-hosts will take fans behind the scenes of the events leading up to the CMA Awards, which will take place in Nashville, Nov.12.

I think Shania could pull off a visit to the CMA's. It would be wonderful if she does. It would be a surprise that would be the talk of the town. Deep down though I don't think she will appear....hope I am wrong here.

Actually, you can't blame MusicToday and the people who maintain Shania's OFC. If Shania's management company, Q Prime, would provide the OFC with updates as far as Shania's activities, etc, I'm sure the OFC would post it.

I think Shania would make quite a statement showing up at the CMA's award. It would indicate that she is ready to resume her career. I sure hope she shows up and if she does she will no doubt as already stated "would steal the show".

If she is seeing someone I doubt she would bring him along, because she likes to keep her private life and professional life separate and that person�may not care for the spotlight, that's why Mutt never accompanied her to�award shows.

If Shania shows up, it will be interesting to see what she is wearing, usually something by designer Marc Bouwer. She sometimes brings Carrie-Ann along with her�to award shows.

CMA Awards Lineup Grows

Rodney Atkins and Kellie Pickler are among the latest to join the lineup for next month's 42nd annual Country Music Association Awards. The singers have been tapped to perform during the show. They're also both nominees, each vying for the CMA New Artist of the Year honors. In addition, Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon is on board for the ceremony. The actress, who earned an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in 2005's "Walk The Line," is the first confirmed presenter. It'll be Witherspoon's second time taking part in the CMA Awards. She also appeared at the annual event three years ago, in conjunction with the Cash biopic's release. The awards show took place just a few days before the film hit theaters. Previously announced performers include co-hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, along with Trace Adkins, Brooks & Dunn, the Eagles, Kid Rock, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, George Strait, Sugarland, Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum, and Kenny Chesney who will be performing with the Wailers. The 42nd Annual CMA Awards will air on ABC from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tennessee on November 12th.

Reese Witherspoon Heads to CMA Awards

Actress Reese Witherspoon has been announced as the first presenter for The 42nd Annual CMA Awards show, Nov. 12, in Nashville.
Reese received an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the movie, Walk the Line. She previously appeared on the CMA Awards show in 2005, when she presented an award with her Walk the Line co-star, Joaquin Phoenix. In other CMA Awards news, Rodney Atkins and Kellie Pickler have been added to the performing lineup for the telecast. The 42nd Annual CMA Awards airs live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, Nov. 12, on ABC-TV at 8 p.m. ET.

I think it would be wonderful if Shania went to the CMA's. It would certainly be a signal that she is coming back. I am surprised that news of who this surprise guest is has not leaked out I guess we will find out for sure Nov.12

I still think the odds are against her being there, for one simple reason.� If she's going to be there, why not just say so?� Every year that Shania has appeared on the CMA's, her name was used in the commercials and promos, presumably to increase ratings for the show.�� If Shania is still considered to be a ratings draw, saying "Shania Twain will be the special guest" will draw more viewers than a vague mention of a random surprise.� I see no reason NOT to announce that Shania will be there.� It's much more logical for the show to announce her by name ahead of time than not announce her by name.

i saw shania on some red carpet in 07 and they asked if she had any new music coming this year and she said no they had recorded some demo's but no new music till 08,and i agree with up about her performing they wouldn't keep that a secert. i think they would draw a lot more viewers if they advertised shania was performing

Singing sensation Miley Cyrus is getting into the awards spirit! The tween queen has just been tapped to serve as a presenter at the "42nd Annual CMA Awards" and someone very special to her will be joining her on stage!

Miley's father and duet partner Billy Ray Cyrus will be her fellow presenter and the father-daughter pair will join a cast of A-list artists scheduled to perform and present at the show.

This will be the second time that members of the Cyrus family will be a part of the CMA Awards. They originally acted as presenters in 2006. Acadamy-Award winning actress Reese Witherspoon will also present.

This year's show will be hosted by country music powerhouses Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood and other artists scheduled to perform include Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Rodney Atkins, and Alan Jackson.

The CMA Awards airs live from Nashville, November 12 at 8:00 PM/ET on ABC.

I really hope the surprise guest is Shania. Maybe they think keeping a surprise guest is good for the ratings. Well I guess it is a few days away and we will know for sure. I am looking forward to the show.
