Yes, there were alot of hints, and I really wanted to believe it. But as you know, we Shania fans have been burned so many times in the past, I didn't want to get my hopes up too high, only to be disappointed yet again. But this news seals the deal as far as I'm concerned, and this is finally the concrete proof from a reliable source that we've all been looking for.

Shania's back!

Twain, who was spotted in Nashville on Tuesday, will be a presenter at the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night. ABC, which is airing the awards show, has been running ads promising a buzz-worthy surprise guest.

Nashville is buzzing all right: The CMAs will mark Twain's first public appearance since the country crossover superstar, 43, announced her separation from husband Robert "Mutt" Lange, 60, in May.

Dividing her time between her native Canada and Switzerland, Twain "hasn't put down her guitar since the split," a source told PEOPLE in July. "The songs are pouring out of her."

Twain took home the Entertainer of the Year CMA award in 1999, and was last in Nashville for the 2004 CMAs.

"She loves Nashville and is excited to spend time with all her friends that live there," says a source close to Twain. "I would expect to see her more around town in the coming months."

I'm still not sure why she's being treated as a surprise, and not as a previously-announced guest. It isnt' a surprise anymore. There is no reason for her not to do the red carpet and her fans expect her to.
doing the red carpet is one of the biggest part of attending these shows for your fan.
Saying it is a surprise is Shania's idea and her management. They negotiate titles when big stars make appearances.
It may be that Shania didn't want all the media to know she would be there and all ask her the obvious questions so she wanted to keep it a surprise up to the last minute.

The CMA Awards are tonight but there's a surprise that wasn't announced until a bit ago; Shania Twain is going to make a special appearance and present one of the awards!
Shania was spotted in Nashville over the weekend with friends and it seems she's going to be spending some time there in the coming few months. In the past few months she's been jumping between Canada and Switzerland and hasn't made a stop in Nashville since 2004!
This appearance will be her first after she split up with her husband back in May.
According to reports, since the split she hasn't put down her guitar! this means songs are being composed! Yepee! If there's an album -some sort of comeback album- I'll sure be the first to grab one!
I can't wait to see Shania on stage tonight!

that would be a typical fitting style for Shania.

And Shania is continuing with the tan look that is a popular look now.

So the sources over the last couple weeks have been good.� Shania is back in Nashville.

I wonder if she is actually peforming too.

The socalled Bruce Springsteen rumors have died down about him performing.

Yep, because she talked to Marilyn Dennis on Cityline about how they had to put safety pins on it (because she kept tripping�over it)�and that�she almost didn't make the red carpet.

Shania Twain has bounced back to the country music scene after her recent separation from husband Robert Mutt Lange. The 43-year-old singer is expected to be a presenter at the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night.

Twain, 43, announced her separation from Lange, 60, in May. In July, a source told People magazine that Twain hasnt put down her guitar since the split. The songs are pouring out of her, the insider said.

Out of nowhere with no word ahead of time, there she is on stage singing...

Shania Twain will make her first CMA Awards show appearance in years, we confirmed today.

In fact, People.com spotted her arriving yesterday at the airport.

Shanias last foray into country music was 2003 when she had a new album out, and Shania had a big NBC performance special on, that one with Alison Krauss & Union Station.

She was set to have a new album out last year, but Shania recently got divorced from her longtime rock producer hubby Mutt Lange, and that may have delayed a new project.

Look for Shania to be a presenter tonight but DONT look for her on the red carpet. She wont be doing press.

All of these other articles are just going off of the original fact that SHania is 100% going to present the EOTY award.
Nobody knows for sure if she will also perform or not. It may be a surprise because everyone just expect her to present at the end now.
And nobody knows if Shania will walk the red carpet or not, that is all speculation.
I hope she does for her fans sake.

So do I. Her relationships with Mutt are just their business but if she doesnt talk to press, her fans will lose this opportunity to know her plants about new album. It will be bad if she starts to hide from interviews.

I know they did but my point is that� nobody knows at all if she is performing too or just presenting the last award.
The Bruce Springsteen rumor yesterday has died down and Shania could possiblity being performing too.

Kenny flirts with Shania

Chesney received laughs onstage when he told award presenter Shania Twain, who was wearing a low-cut dress, that she looked really good.

"I flirted with her onstage," he said.

Both Twain and Chesney went through marital break-ups in the public eye. "Relationships are hard anyway, for anybody. Its even tougher when its a spectator sport. I wish her all the best really. I think she is obviously an amazing artist. It was really great to have her be a part of this night. I think she can do anything she wants."

She looked beautiful as always,but seemed like she was going to cry. I think she was very thankful for standing ovation she received. This first appearance had to be hard for her. Kenney Chesney helped put her at ease. I think she will get her confidence back now she crossed this hurdle. She may move quickly now!

The Country Music Association promised a major surprise in the lead up to Wednesday's CMA Awards and it came at the tail-end of the three-hour telecast: Shania Twain presented the final honor of the night entertainer of the year to Kenny Chesney.

"You look really good tonight!" he said as he took the trophy in his hands.

Twain, wearing a low-cut Missoni gown, had walked out to a standing ovation. "It's good to see all of you too," she told the crowd Wednesday at Nashville's Sommet Center. "I hope to be seeing a lot more of you."

Twain, 43, won the coveted entertainer of the year award in 1999, and was last at the CMA awards in 2004.

PEOPLE first reported that Twain was expected at the ceremony on Wednesday. Her presence marked the singer's first public appearance since announcing her separation from husband Robert "Mutt" Lange in May.

A Warm Welcome
Once Twain arrived at the ceremony, the stars were buzzing.

"Well, I hear she's single," Jimmy Wayne told PEOPLE. "Maybe I'll be able to run into her!"

Former tourmate John Michael Montgomery sent his best wishes to the singer, telling PEOPLE, "I just hate the fact that she went through her trials and tribulations, and I hope that she comes back as strong as ever. If she puts her mind to it, you ain't going to stop her."

New artist of the year nominee James Otto, who also toured with Twain, praised her crossover appeal. "She opened up country music to so many people who had never listened to it before," he told PEOPLE. "She really made a mark on country music."

Martina McBride summed up everybody's excitement, telling PEOPLE, "I'm so glad she's here tonight."

Then there was the reappearance of songstress Shania Twain, who apparently is on her way back to Music City and the touring world, to present Chesney with his latest entertainer of the year award. Twain had, for all intents in purposes, abandoned the industry and moved to Switzerland several years ago. But the breakup of her marriage to philandering producer Mutt Lange seems to have rekindled an interest in recording and touring.

Country star Kenny Chesney knows a thing or two about hooking up and even more about breaking up in the spotlight, having met, married and split from actress Ren�e Zellweger in less than nine months in 2005. So it's no surprise that he'd have some things to say to fellow country superstar Shania Twain to help her get over her break from ex-husband Mutt Lange.

"I flirted with her!" he joked at the Country Music Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night, where he was awarded the Entertainer of the Year award by Shania, making her first public appearance since splitting from Mutt in May.

In all seriousness, Kenny did have this to share about having your love life be the stuff headlines are made of: "Relationships are hard anyway for anybody but it's even tougher when your life is a spectator sport."

It's been a rough few months for Shania, who saw her marriage of 15 years crumble amid charges of infidelity with the couple's longtime personal assistant. "She's an amazing artist. She can do anything she wants to do," said Kenny. "Great songs are the key."
