Comeback-minded country crooner Shania Twain opened some eyebrows when she made a quick shopping jaunt to New York City last week. Among her entourage was the ex-husband of the gal who helped bust up her marriage.

Last spring, Twain split from her hubby Mutt Lange when it was discovered he was sleeping with family friend/employee Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Frederic Thiebaud, Marie-Anne's ex, accompanied Twain on a flight from Switzerland to New York, and was seen at her side in the Big Apple. The Thiebaud clan has been friends with Twain's family for some time, but the sighting still prompted speculation that payback, or romantic irony, might be involved. Stay tuned.

In Canada, Shania was also featured at the airport with Frederic Thiebaud on eTalk and they showed the video of them at the airport. Mr. Theibaud is hunky - he practically deserves his own fan forum! Maybe he and Shania are 'just friends' - for now - I'll take him!

Also - I mentioned this on another forum - the chevron-patterned tote bad Shania likes taking to the airport is by Paris based luxury luggage company 'Goyard' -the vinyl coated cotton tote she is carrying costs about $890!

The richest of the rich carry Goyard bags because half the world and ALL the RAP stars carry Louis Vuitton now - so LV is cheapened by that and is considered too flashy. Goyard is for the quiet and tasteful. And for the rich.
Frederic Thiebaud is a sharp dresser, by the way!

Somehow I don't think they are rommantically involved. He is a good looking guy though. Maybe he is a witness for Shania's divorce who knows. Maybe they are just good friends brought together by the situation of Mutt and Marie-Ann. Either way it is certainly and interesting chain of events.

However, if they are dating, it sort of makes sense in a way since she's been friends with the Thiebaud's for years, she probably feels very comfortable around him and the�fact, it may be hard to sustain a relationship with anyone from Canada, with her main residence being in Switzerland (because of Eja's private�schooling). They both have children and he's more closer to her age. A source told Star that she hasn't ruled out true love and would consider dating a younger man.

Do you think this Ricco suave French speaking euro tri-athlete has been without female companionship for the 18+ months he has been apart from his wife and is so lonely that Shania offered to spend the holidays with him?

The way I look at it is they may be a couple and have decided to come out publicly and this is the way they are doing it or, they are not a couple and this is a publicity stunt. She certainly knew the paps would be there and if there were other friends from Switzerland, only one person walked through JFK and got in the limo with Shania. If this is a publicity stunt then it's in very bad taste. I thought Shania's top priority in life is Eja, how can this in any way shape or form be good for Eja to have this in the press?�This is all very weird and raises more questions than it answers.

I can certainly understand the friendship that has developed with Shania and this fellow. They were both betrayed by the one they loved. For now I just see this as a friendship if it develops into something further I would be suprised. I don't doubt for a minute that Eja is Shania's priority and that he is well looked after whilst Shania is in New York.

My sentiments exactly. If there is anything romantic going on, it may be weird for Eja�seeing his mom with her former best friends's husband and if Mutt is still reportedly in a relationship with Fred's ex that just adds to the craziness of it all.

There has been no follow-up on this story, which indicates it could be�bogus. I saw that video clip on TMZ and I heard the paparrazi shout to Frederic (before he got into the limo)�"How's your relationship with Shania going?"....he didn't respond, but then again,�he was probably wise to ignore them. That's what him and Shania were no doubt laughing about, because they automatically assumed because they were seen�together, they must be courting. Now if he was holding her hand, or he was spotted with his tongue down her throat, that would be a different story, but as sources state, he was walking side by side (until the cameras emerged).

"A smiling Shania said that Frederic Thiebaud was a 'Very good friend. An old friend' as she climbed into an SUV outside her Manhattan hotel."

Thanks David.� Shania arrived at the JFK airport on Thursday, and that link above seems to indicate that she spoke to the press at her hotel either on Saturday or Sunday.� If that's true, we should be seeing new photos of Shania from this second encounter with the press, as it's very unlikely that she spoke to the press without being photographed.

I hope there's video you can sometimes tell alot from body language.We may also find out did they stay in one room or 2.There is a post in another thread that said Shania and Fred where seen in Toronto getting off a plane there a short time ago so i don't know if there dating or not but i won't doubt it

Oh, ok! Thanks! But I think you might have misread it. I think loonie is saying that Shania was on eTalk, which is a show in Canada. And on eTalk, they showed Shania at the airport - the New York airport, the one that we'll all talking about. I don't think loonie was saying that Shania was shown at a Canada aiport. But I could be wrong.

Shania Twain last night denied she is in a relationship with Frederic Thiebaud.

The country superstar jetted into New York City earlier in the week accompanied by the ex-husband of the nanny accused of having an affair with Mutt Lange.

A smiling Shania said that Frederic Thiebaud was a 'Very good friend. An old friend' as she climbed into an SUV outside her Manhattan hotel.

Thiebaud was then seen leaving the same hotel on foot just a few minutes after the singer's car had driven away.

Record producer Lange and the stunning singer split in May amid rumours he had grown close to Marie-Anne Thiebaud.

Thiebaud was Twain's longtime secretary and the house manager at the star's estate in Switzerland.

Shania and Lange married in 1993 and were together for 14-years before their break-up was announced.

Lange produced three of Twain's albums 1995's 'The Woman in Me', 1997's 'Come on Over' and 2002's 'Up!'

He has denied that any affair was part of the break-up of his marriage to Twain, telling People magazine in May, 'It's literally just a growing apart, that's all.'

US singer Shania Twain was understandably devastated when her husband of 15 years Mutt Lange declared that he was away to attend to another woman's lady needs with his penis. What made the matter worse was that the woman in question, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, was one of Shania's employees, in charge of looking after her and Mutt's luxurious estate in Switzerland. Sadly Thiebaud spent less time airing the sheets and more time having her fondue stirred by Mutt, hence their decision to Alpine shack up together.

The news was reported in May, but now Shania has been seen with a dashing and handsome new man. Oddly enough he is also Swiss and a triathlete (swimming, cycling and cuckoo clock repair). And his name isFrederick Thiebaud.

In a glorious move it looks as though Shania is banging the socks off the husband of the woman who ran off with her husband, the dirty Mutt. Lange is one of the most successful music producers in history with a vast personal fortune, so this raises the delicious prospect of Shania taking half of his money (she did have a 2002 single called 'Ka-ching' after all) and trading him in for a younger, fitter replacement. Who is only single because of Mutt sniffing around his wife.

Outstanding. Man, I feel like a lawsuit! How would Alanis Morrisette describe such a situation?

I know Mutt denied being involved with the other woman, but most men who have cheated on their partner,�will not admit to what�they did.

Shania knew silly rumors�would surface just as they have done�in the past (e.g wooden foot, no sex marriage) but over the years, she's learnt to accept�it comes as part of the terriotory of being a star. If people want to believe everything that is written about them in the press as true, that's their choice. I don't think she's going to let it get her down.

Oh please, Shania is the one who orchestrated this whole thing.
she wanted the press to know. You must think Shania is such an innocent person that they would never put 2 and 2 together if they saw Shania with the guy.
Even the way the guy dropped back after the papps were seen was so planned.
They even got in the same limo and went to the same hotel and were seen shopping together in the weekend.
This whole thing was orchestrated and in very bad taste and ruined Shania image somewhat.
There is no way to defend her this time.
I can't believe how some fans actually think Shania didn't have this planned.
It was embarrassing being a Shania fan the last few years simply because she did nothing and made no contact with her fans but now it brings it to a new low with her publicity stunt.

Yes.� I expect the juicy, controversial stories to get more attention.� I don't expect, however, the "truth" to appear on one site, and one site only.� If a piece of news only appears on one site, and nobody else runs with it, then I don't trust the validity of that site.� A Shania denial wouldn't appear on every gossip site, but it would definitely appear on many, if it were true.
