my point is that if a person is nuts it will do harm, whether that has to do with religion or science.
i don't have a problem with either but i hate abuse and that woman that gave birth to 8 babies and had 6 more at home is not in a safe frame of mind and her doctor abused science.
is not her right to have as many babies as she wants to,babies are not plastic dolls, this is serious.

Thats what I said, science isnt evil, its people who use it for the wrong reasons who are...2nd Amendment said that Science was evil. hmm yawn

Not being funny or anything, but whilst people are dedicating their lives to science to help human beings, defeat illnesses, reduce pain, advance technology (for the likes of you to enjoy), you are both spending your entire days, all day using science to talk about how evil it is. Thats kinda funny. biggrin Scientists are giving the miracle of life whilst you two are sat at home griping about it.

Lets say Shania wanted another child, or lets say you both wanted a child and couldnt for medical or impotence reasons, would it be wrong to turn to science for a bit of help?

no,2nd said "many times" science is evil,he is not against science,i knowsmileand neither do i.
as for us wasting our lives here, well,we are not exactly wasting them, this is a place for us to meet and chat while we are far away, and its embarrassing to try and explain more,i hope you know what i mean.

as for your question,NO i have NO problem at all to turn to science to help me get pregnant and later give birth to a child,we were just talking about this particular woman with the 14 kids.
you have to admit that this is not a normal situation, she can't raise them properly.
i'm talking about her mental state, now if a woman is mentally healthy she can have kids, but not 14biggrin
we all know that some great couple can't have kids with the old fashion way,so is not wrong to get some help from science.

Your quote was "many times science is evil". Where has science been evil in this woman having more children? Science has done nothing wrong, maybe the people giving the permission were wrong, but EVIL?! I dont think so. no And you said science was evil, science is not the reason for this woman having more children any more than someone using science to have their one and only child would be.

Evil is a very strong word. I'm guessing you are very religious by your nature of aggresive posts in this discussion. Now I will not do as you do and say the same by saying "many times religion is evil", but we all know evil is seen in religion and always has been, and infinitely more evil than science has shown. Science advances the human race, religion, well destroys it from what I see. no

so i guess we should feel ashamed for being religious???
sorry but it won't happen,no one made me to be a religious person,in fact my dad doesn't believe in anything at all,is just the way i was born.
and you make 2nd look like some kind of narrow minded jerk, don't jump into conclusions.
and just one more time,2nd's friends are NOT Amish, that was just a joke.

The key wording is "many times." Religion included but you better be careful with that opinion of yours. It will be science that ruins us before anything. People playing God and human nature and curiosity will bring our end unless we take a step back and get back to some basics.

but yes keep on keeping on.

2nd ammendment, Science hasnt ruined things anywhere near as much as religion over the years. I can say what I want, I dont feeel threatened by you saying I should be careful what I say after you splurt out the garbage you talk. I'm not going to be talked tou by some pompous arrogant man, women are allowed their opinions without being lept on.

I havent said to anyone on here they are wrong for being religious, I defended science after 2nd Amendment said it was to blame and was evil. All I did was point out that religion actually can be evil and we know lots of examples of that, 9/11?

I think you are being very silly now, we are talking about science allowing people to have babies, that is sci-fi. It could happen one day and I would disagree with it, but not science as a whole, I would still defend fertility treatment. Cloning Jesus Christ is fantasy I'm afraid, first you have to find his DNA and nobody has that, secondly was Jesus the son of God? Does he have any? This is fantasy, you are going way off track with your points. hmm

Yeah naive is the key word if people don't see some of the nuttiness that exists out there in the science community.

I'm not arrogant! I have a right to disagree with you and also feel offended when you label me for being below you in some way because I support our new president. disbelief doh You are arrogant for thinking you can label me like that and not expect me to say something back. no

This all makes sense now, republicans, guns, the belief that sarah palin is like Shania, anti-abortion, anti-fertility. Oh boy, you are like a little boy lost in his own little world. The internet really brings them out.

Niiice, this post is not offensive at all, yeah right.
so??you think abortion is a good thing eh??you'd love it here in Greece,200,000 abortions per year out of 12 million population, and then some women wonder why they can't have babies after 7 abortions or so.
i also love the fact that 6 out of 10 had experience STD at least one time in their life, because condoms are baddisbelief

and just for the record,if i had a bad pregnancy and i had to get an abortion to save my life i would,se i'm so bad, shame on me,what my Amish friends would thinkbiggrin

In a recent Round-table Discussion Group the question was asked of the Ministerial Panel, at what point does life begin.

The Baptist Preacher spoke first and said "At conception, of course!".

The Presbyterian Minister said "No, no, it's certainly begins at birth".

The Catholic Priest tried to buffer the obvious argument point and suggested "Perhaps you're both wrong, and it's a compromise in that the fetus is not functional with a heartbeat until the third month".

They had to prod the Jewish Rabbi for his answer, and he finally leaned forward to his mike and spoke softly "All of my friends here are wrong. Life begins when the last child leaves home, and the dog they left behind dies!!!".

I agree that rapists should be locked up, and they are when they are found. But I believe a woman should be allowed to make her OWN choice over whether she keeps the baby. I dont think people on here or anywhere else have any right to tell that Mother what she has to do, it is her who must spend the rest of her life bringing up a baby which was forced onto her and it should be her choice. Again this is just my opinion but I dont deserve to be attacked for having it.

i didn't attack you,i agree with you here regarding rape,is not only the physical trauma thats left to a woman but mostly its the psychological,we know that many women and young girls have commited suicide after they have been raped, this is not about sex, rape is not sex.

but is a fact that some married women are having abortions just because they didn't wanted another baby, isn't this bad?and shouldn't we do something to promote birth control pills?i'm all for it.

and it is a fact that many women that have abortions at least in my country are married women over 30hmm

It does happen and many times they are actually given the option to expore the outside world but most of them return home to continue being Amish.

Well i have to say i believe a woman has a right to choose.I know a lot of people believe that life begins at conception, and i can understand that but for me i think life begins when brain waves begins.Without brainwaves a human being is nothing so until brainwaves begin which i believe start at between 24 to 27 weeks a fetus is not a human being. Now i would end partial birth abortion because that is just disgusting and unless the mothers life is in danger that practice should be ended.

These babies can be given up for adoption and never have to know the truth unless that is what they want.  I agree rapists should be punished but I don't believe that the resulting pregnancy should be made into an awful thing.  The mother can give the baby up for adoption and that child can bring so much joy to someone who may not have ever had that joy without them.  It says in the bible that I knew you in the womb.  Doesn't say how old the fetus is or anything like that he says I knew you in the womb.  God will not give you anymore than you can handle.  Only believe in abortion if the mother's life is in danger.  If you are given a child with special needs by God then that is what is meant for you and he will help you deal with whatever you are given. This is what I truly believe.  Every child is a blessing and we can learn something from everyone of them.  They are all special and deserve to be loved.  Just my beliefs.  No debate or delimmas here on this issue for me.
Warmest regards,
Tonto
