If you ever wondered what happened to VH1’s seemingly hit series “Divas Live” or “Vh1 Divas,” you’re not the only one. The good news today is that the network has greenlit a new concert/television special for later this year !
Now names have not been unveiled so we can’t be heading down to ticketmaster just yet but, VH1 promises the show will be bigger than ever.
“Over the years, we’ve received constant calls and emails asking us to bring back our ‘Divas’ show. Now more than ever, the time feels right to re-launch this beloved show as a new generation of talented female artists has come to the forefront of music,” said Lee Rolontz, Executive Producer for “VH1 Divas” and Executive Vice President, Music Production for VH1.
“We’ve heard our viewers, and we promise to deliver a live show that will generate the same ‘Divas’ excitement as in the past — while also infusing some new twists along the way.”
Shania Twain, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin, Donna Summer, Gloria Estefan and a then “Say My Name” singing Destiny’s Child have all appeared on VH1’s Divas in the past.
I like all of them, well except for Mariah Carey she just annoys me.She does have a great voice though.
Yes she seems to be very immature and didn't handle the fame well from what you get to see in the interviews. That's why she had the breakdown. Imagine going from having nothing at all to having your every wish or dream come true all of a sudden. We all think this is the ultimate dream or wish but once this happens what do you have left to dream or wish for. You can have it all. Where do you get your next "high" so to speak. Warmest regards as always, Tonto
Watch TMZ,some celbs seem like very nice normal people and others just couldn't be bothered.Woody Harrison just beat up one of their cameraman for doing nothing but filming him.Its got to be a pain to have camera's on you all the time but to beat someone for it is just ridiculous.
Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Adele set for 'VH1 Divas' 2009: Who do YOU want to see?
VH1 fiiiiinally decided to heed our call and revive its Divas franchise. And today, they announced some of the divas that will be in the September show: Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, and Miley Cyrus. I hope they do a tribute performance like this: Okay, I'm torn. On the one hand, I enthusiastically enjoy half this line up. On the other…are these artists really Diva level? Like, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Gloria, Aretha, Patti–caliber Diva? Hmm. That said, the Divas concerts have always included a combo of icons and current stars -- musically speaking, Patti LaBelle is in a different category than Jessica Simpson or Ashanti, but they've all performed under the Diva banner.
And now, a few people on our wish list for the rest of the line up, and this is just spitballing without any attachment to logistics or reasoning, diva style: Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Dolly Parton, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Allison Krauss. And I would also like return performances from Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, and Mariah Carey.
Okay, PopWatchers, something tells me you're going to have some good suggestions on this. Who do you want to see on the 2009 Divas stage?

Miley Cyrus is a diva????????????????? What is this nonsense???????
Yes I get you on that one. She seems really uppity. Not divaish at all. I like Paula as a Diva much better. She should be on there. Got more right than Hannah Montana. Warmest regards as always, Tonto
