That is because fans are left discussing it with no extra clues. The hint should say that it is not music, so many fans are desperate for new music and everybody knows it. When the word surprise is mentioned you cant blame fans for thinking that. It really feels like these announcements are done to get ppl to join, if that is not intended no its not Angie's fault but the announcements should be more precise or another one made to put things right.

If this is only for fan club members AND they are not trying to con ppl into joining then why not just say what it is right now?

What about a surprise for those fans, who are not members of her fan club? Just because you don't pay to receive the membership kits, doesn't make you any less of a fan. I just thought I'd bring this up.

Yes, and also many ppl who are not members now were once, they would still be if they had ben treated well or been given what they paid for. They should not be punished or attacked for criticizing the fan club. I dont blame them at all, or for not joining again. Keep kicking the dog he wont come back eventually.

true, I'm a member of the fan club and i don't see anything special about it, I didn't get a kit, no special gift, no thank you, and the site barely updates I think members should be unhappy and they should do more with the site, with what we pay, we should get service, period.

You guys are all being ridiculous!!!!! All Angie does is pass on info given to her by the Fan Club. She is not trying to make this out to be some huge deal. It's an exclusive for fan club members only. So right there we know it's not music! It's just somethng special for members only. Why is everyone harrassing Angie about it? Just lay off it already!
And those of you who are unhappy with the FC site should contact MusicToday. They are the people that run it, not Angie.

Many fans gave up on this online club a long time ago - I am surprised fans still belong to it.

The kits for 2009 haven't even been sent out yet. And with Shania MIA since 2002 how can there be many updates to the site?

You're entitled to your opinion, but what gets me is you complain about Shania not being communicative enough and ignoring her fans for a significant period of time, but are now having a dig at her for blogging and actually saying something. We know that you're disappointed no new music is forthcoming and while Shania tells of her pain and suffering (yes, we know there are people who are going through much worse things in life than divorce and you don't have to keep repeating the point) but you have to accept this past year hasn't been easy for her. I think it takes a lot of courage for Shania to speak out like this and on such a personal level.

I agree that it does take a lot of courage to open yourself up to be scrutinized. I think the blogging is genuine so that the fans realize that she has to deal with life but does plan to put out more music......I applaud Shania for having the strength to speak so openly........I don't think she plays the victim at all.......she just happens to be the victim of cruel behaviour of two people who were close to her, and has to deal with that victimization......it does not mean that she chose it.

I have to agree with you two,i don't believe Shania played the victim.Can you imagine getting a phone call at the age of 21 that your parents have just been killed in a car accident?I bet Shania just like anybody else would be reduced to tears just to think about that day,even years later.As far as her crying about the divorce thats completely normal for a person to do.Im sure Mutts had his days of pain to about the split.Im glad she is on the mend and with her now going to blog and she is talking about music im sure she'll having something out if not this year than next.But the most important thing is to make sure she takes good care of her son and herself ,that is still by far the most important thing,music is 2nd.
