Well, if it is really a picture, then those guys in OFC have problems with what really is exciting for fans. But it will 100% not be a new CD, of course. So it will be some trifle.

I guess we all have different ideas about the fan club - most of us who joined it initially bailed out long ago -  I got a whole lot more out of her original club - when she and her sister were actually involved with the fans.

There is now a "countdown to Shania's birthday" page on http://shaniatwain.com/ (public page) as well as http://fanclub.shaniatwain.com/ (Fan Club login page). The new temporary site will launch on August 28th, Shania's birthday, when Shania will be giving Fan Club members a very special present!!! The site won't be completely finished until November.

I think it is really cool and I can't wait. I think Shania wants to be more interactive with her fans and this is a really cool start. The other site wasn't capable with that kind of technology.
They would have had to redone the whole site anyway I suspect. I think this is a positvie sign that Shania does want to come back to music not that she ever really left. I still think she and Mutt had an album almost ready or close to it when the divorce came about and she had to start all over. So now it may take a while for her to give us the new music we want but I have faith that it is on the way. Just my point of view.

No.  Maybe it will resurface much later when all the emotional stuff between them has died down and then again if there was an album maybe it would be to emotional and too much of a reminder of what was lost for her to ever let it go public.  This is all only based on a big huge "IF" there was an album started before the divorce happened.  No proof of anything.

Yes,its funny how one member constantly criticizes her for not doing anything but she was, and obviously it was the affair screwed that up.So if she was last active in 04 decides to take a few years off then the split i can't blame her.

Honestly PPE,
I knew that.  Especially after 14 almost 15 years but I was trying so hard to be optimistic.  Also knowing she didn't want it to happen the way it did and knowing that he allegedly tried to apologize.  She always spoke of him as if he was her god and I don't mean that in a bad way but the way her eyes sparkled and the look on her face when she spoke about Mutt seemed to be something most people only dream about acheiving in their relationship you know.  Sorry but I am totally a hopeless romantic and believe everyone deserves a fairytale ending.  Those demos will have been snapped up by Shania and locked in that box of writings and tapes that she has made that she hasn't even let Mutt into.  I doubt they will ever see the light of day in this lifetime or any other.  I just hate to think of that new music never to be heard because of personal issues.  I guess that is why they say never mix business and pleasure.  Eh?? But that is her whole life.  Business and personal was always mixed as she married the man who was her producer, co-author, back up vocalist and the father or her only child.  I'm sure he filled many other roles for her but you can't get more business and pleasure issues than that.  So now the music has to suffer so to speak never to be heard.  If only it could be heard wonder what it would have said....Something to ponder I guess.  Another mystery to add to that which is Shania.  Make it mysterious, don't reveal too much and always leave them wanting more.

I am a member and am not ashamed to say so and am not offended at all by anyone's comments.  I'll say it right now I am the dumbest in the club!!! Keep trying to quit her but just can't do that.  I will be happy little camper with just an autographed picture.  It is better than nothing.  Also we did chat at the Fanclub.  They did have that capability on the old site.  Not many went there to chat but Shania is not around much so not much too discuss just like here.  On a final note I have it on good authority that Kevy is quite a looker so send me one of those keychains and I will hang it beside of my Shania keychain.  As long as it is free I'll take it.  No disrespect intended to anyone. biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Like the idea of the countdown clock to Shania's birthday. But they should have her music playing in the background while you leaving your messages. We should have a countdown clock here till she comes back. It should have started after her appearance at the ACM's in November and let it run until she is back with new music.

Well I think were all heading for a surprise? Let me explain it will indeed be a new Shania website.  The surprise lets think about it for a second ? I assume a letter blog but how is that a surprise we already know about that so that would not be it. Wanna know what I am thinking one of five things Shania might do ? 1 Post a video blog thanking her fans for there support ? Second a song that will not be released to the radio but a song thanking her fans? A album date release because think about it the record label did say there is no Shania album in sight but perhaps it is the suprise Shania is gearing up for a bit come back. The other 2 things well She might release a music video or might be going live on her web site to answer question for the fans. Now I might be wrong on all five but lets hope it's a suprise of a lifetime. Tommy wondering ? you said Shania Is going to to be giving her fan club a suprise it says Shania Twain is giving us a suprise which once is it let me know I am a bit confused. Thanks so much Kevy.  I will definitely be watching the mail for it.  Can't wait a Kevy Christmas in August hopefully it will be right after the Shania Christmas on August 28th.  Really can't wait for that one.  I think maybe we will get some answers to all these new questions and issues people keep coming up with.  I think it will be a new video blog.  Probably no new music.  I don't think she would flat out lie about that.  The letter said she doesn't know how long it will take.  Patience is more than a virtue with Shania.  Just my thoughts.

Yo Shania fans, time to get excited!  Mark August 28th down on your calendar because you're about to be given a gift from Shania herself.  The 28th is Shania's birthday (happy birthday Shania!), but Shania's website is doing things a bit backwards by announcing that on that Friday Shania will be giving her fans a gift. 

So what do you spose it'll be?  An album release date?  A new song? I'm-having-Fred's-baby news?  I imagine it'll be something totally anticlimactic like a video blog saying how much she loves her fans and can't wait to have a new album out or something like that, but a girl can always hope it'll be really, really big news. 

Just head over to Shania's siteto check out the countdown timer and to send Shania your birthday messages for her. 

Update:  Shania's MySpace blog says that her new fan club will launch on her birthday. Oh let down of all letdowns. I guess maybe the big gift will be free fan club memberships for that day or something.  Of course a new fan club launch may mean they're gearing up for a new album.  Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

Ive seen other artists do this, they have made downloads available to members only like an MP3 or a recording of a performance. I dont see what else it could be.

As I recall, Hardy Hemphill did this for his CD. You could get a full mp3 of his track
"Wanna Know All Of You" from his label.

It could be a video blog from Shania instead of a message being posted this time.

And by the way, it looks like Shania Twain has some other surprises coming this month. We just checked Shania's official website and found the following message:

"Shania's giving you a present on her birthday! Join us on August 28 for the excitement!"

Still no confirmation on when we can expect new music from Shania, but it looks like best case scenario will be sometime next year. Shania hasn't released an album of new material since 2002's "Up!"
