Guitar Hero 5 has triumphed in the ultimate battle of the virtual bands, having outsold The Beatles: Rock Band to capture the coveted No.1 spot in the UK.
This is despite John, Paul, George and Ringo having a two day release head start on its big rival and an absolutely massive marketing campaign boosted by a pretty-much-worldwide Beatles week to celebrate the band's 40th anniversary.
GH5, which takes to the virtual rock stage with a more accessible playlist, enters the all-format chart at the pinnacle for the first time in its Guitar Hero history, with Liverpool's finest in fourth place behind Colin McCrae DiRT 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum.
However, the battle for Christmas supremacy is a Long and Winding Road for sure and we wouldn't mind betting a few quid that The Beatles Get Back to where they once belonged at the top of the charts.
