Jordin Sparks Looks Forward to Idol's New Vibe with Ellen | Jordin Sparks
American Idol season-six winner Jordin Sparks didn't know what to think when she first heard that Ellen DeGeneres was replacing Paula Abdul as a judge on the show.

"I kind of didn't get it. I was very confused for a second," the singer tells PEOPLE.

"But the more I thought about it, I thought, 'Well, she's definitely very opinionated and has a good point of view,' " says Sparks. "She'll give Simon a piece of her mind. I'm excited – I think the vibe will be different, but really cool."

Joining the ranks of celebs who have created "Got Milk?" ads, Sparks, 19, recently donned her own milk mustache to launch a campaign called Drink Milk for a Change, which will help keep music instruction in schools. "It's good and promotes being healthy," Sparks says about the ad. "I just wanted to make it personal."

For every Milk Mustache photo created on www.bodybymilk.com, one dollar will go to support the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.

The singer is also wrapping up her tour with Britney Spears but hasn't exactly been able to spend any quality time with the pop star. "It's always one big circus backstage. I haven't seen Britney yet except for walking in the hallways," Sparks says.

"I met her family and her dad thanked me for joining the tour. She's always so busy with a meet-and-greet or showing the VIPs around or doing a photo shoot. Hopefully I'll get to hang with her before it's all over."

Sparks has been hanging out with beau Steph Jones as much as possible despite her busy schedule. "We're still talking and things are good. He's based [in L.A.] and I'm traveling a lot so it's hard to keep in touch," adds Sparks. "But things are definitely good. Life is good."
