It's been a busy couple of months at Irwin Memorial Public School and the kids are proud of all their hard work they've accomplished! Here is their video production of "Frosty the Snowman" at their Christmas concert to get you in the Christmas Spirit!
The SKC students at Irwin Memorial Public School have been super busy the last two months working VERY hard on their scenes and props for our annual Christmas production that we show at our Christmas concert every year. This year they chose to make “Frosty the Snowman” and they used plasticine, cardboard and miniature trees and lampposts in their town. They did a phenomenal job on our movie production and we invited back our returning guest, Mike Russell, a professional videographer, to film our movie and did a fantastic job! It was nice that he took the time and taught the kids about different shots and angels and sound during our film. Very educational and fun!
Shyla is helping to make fruit smoothies for everyone to enjoy at the SKC Club House @ Irwin Memorial Public School.
One of the favorite things for the kids to do is to assist with the daily healthy snack. The SKC Students also help to make the grocery list and meal plans as well.

The SKC "Lounge kids" at Irwin Memorial love doing arts and crafts, and one of their favourite things to do are the "melty beads". They create their own amazing, original designs that they can treasure always. Several pieces are on display in "The Lounge" and parents, staff and peers love to take a look!
"Best Friends For Life" @ Irwin Memorial Public School
Such a powerful and positive motto that a strong group of girls go by. The SKC program brings kids closer together as they create life long bonds that they'll cherish always. Because they're always doing fun social activities, games, outings, etc. it helps to form friendships and expand social networks.
The SKC Program at Irwin invited The Northern Lights Steel Band Orchestra in for a live concert and our SKC students had the amazing opportunity to have steel drum lessons! It was a magical morning and the kids were grateful for the experience

Strike a mark in the "win" column for the carnivores! Even though I am a meat lover, vegetarian is my favorite pizza. Gotta have green olives and make sure the mushrooms aren't overcooked and dried out. Either way shouldn't be eating garbage carbs. Where is Kevy when you need him for dietary moral support? .....I am hungry now! I promise I am not stoned!
#TBT To just before Mother's Day when thanks to Lowes Canada, the children at Sir Winston Churchill were able to build picture frames for their mothers and decorate them too!

Urban Safari is a group that comes into schools with a variety of animals that people had previously adopted and then realized that they weren’t able to take care of. They educated the students on how much work it is to have a pet, which ones are safe to have as well as how to care for the planet.
