Sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com that country music superstar Shania Twain is negotiation a deal with Caesar's to have her own permanent show in rotation at the Colosseum in Las Vegas!!!
"Her deal is almost done," an insider tells us.
We think this is awesome!!!
We LOVE Shania! And she has so many hits! It would be a great show!
Now, the Colosseum will have two Canadians! Celine is going back - performances of her new show begin in March.
Wow! Just when we thought we've heard it all! What next? Playboy? LOL!
WHY NOT??
Vegas is the city of glitz and glam. I don't expect Shania to dress like a Vegas Showgirl, but even Celine Dion dresses sexy for her Vegas shows. I don't expect Shania to exactly dress conservatively on a Vegas stage.

I actually think that Shania's music and style would fit Vegas well. I never thought the person of Shania fit Vegas, but maybe she's no longer the person she used to be.
In early 2002 Dion had announced a three-year, 600-show contract to appear five nights a week in an entertainment extravaganza, A New Day..., at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.[9] This move was seen as "one of the smartest business decisions in years by any major recording artist".[125] She conceived the idea for the show after seeing O by Franco Dragone early in her break from recording, and began on March 25, 2003, in a 4,000-seat arena designed for her show.[9]
The show, put together by Dragone, was a combination of dance, music, and visual effects. It included Dion performing her biggest hits against an array of dancers and special effects. Reviewer Mike Weatherford felt that, at first, Dion was not as relaxed as she should be, and at times, it was hard to find the singer among the excessive stage ornamentations and dancers. However, he noted that the show had become more enjoyable, due to Dion's improved stage-presence and simpler costumes.[69]
The show was also well-received by audiences, despite the complaints of expensive tickets; the show routinely sold out until its end in late 2007.[127] Ticket prices averaged $135.33.[128] The show was choreographed by Mia Michaels, who is a world renowned choreographer. According to Pollstar, Dion sold 322,000 tickets and grossed US$43.9 million in the first half of 2005, and by July 2005, she had sold out 315 out of 384 shows.[129] By the end of 2005, Dion grossed more than US$76 million, placing sixth on Billboard's Money Makers list for 2005.[130]
I don't expect Shania's show to be exactly the same as Celine's, but there may be similiarities. This may give us some clues as to what to expect from Shania's show. Assuming Perez is right, of course, which is a big assumption right now.
I sincerely hope there is no truth to this source. We know Shania is up for trying out new things since her divorce, but I'm not sure this is such a good idea. While it might be considered exciting to some, I can see it being a devastating blow to a lot of fans, especially those who live outside the United States. Not everyone will be able to afford to travel to America, let alone Las Vegas. Then there's the expense of tickets for the show. Plus what is she going to sing exactly when she hasn't showcased an album of new material in years?

The guy is a psychotic lunatic, but fortunately/unfortunately depending upon how you look at it, his information is correct a lot more than it is wrong.
I agree. Perez is a weirdo, but he's also a really big Shania fan and he's never dissed her like he does other celebs. He's always treated her with alot of respect on his site. He may be misinformed, but he wouldn't just make up stuff about her.

Agree with both of you. Perez is not known for fabricating stories. It'll be interesting to see how this pans out.

I am wondering if Shania will play one or two nights in a row, then it's Celine's turn.....then a couple of weeks off to go to Switzerland.
I am super-excited about this! I've been waiting so long so see Shania return to the stage, and if she plays Vegas, I can see her multiple times. (time to start saving money).
I will ask my friend who has her own source in Vegas to dig around for more info.
This makes sense for Shania at this point in her career. She has a ton of hits, and if she will be so close to Los Angeles, that recording opportunities will totally be available. Celebrities, including rock stars and producers go to Vegas all the time, so that makes me think Shania may collaborate with them.
This will all tie-in with her tv show, which I imagine will show her in the stage design/planning, rehearsal stage.....all promoting the Vegas show.
So excited!

If Shania is going to performing on stage again, she is probably going to have something new. Think about it, if she was just going to perform just earlier music, then why would she hold off performing for almost six years.

If she had something new, I believe she would go on tour (as she had promised before). There are many artists in Vegas, who have breaks in their careers or even the end of their careers. So it's sad if Shania wants to be among those after so many years of nothing.
Like many other famous celebrities and singers, Shania Twain is heading west to Las Vegas to star in her own show at Caesar’s Palace.
The deal is said to be in the works and the singer is reportedly working out the final details with the popular hotel and casino.
With Shania’s long past of so many great hits, it’s sure to be an exciting show.
Shania will join the likes of Celine Dion and Elton John, both of whom had best selling shows in Las Vegas, well known for the night life and entertainment. Former Caesar’s Palace entertainer, Celine Dion is currently taking time off after the birth of her twins but will return back to the stage in March.

Shania Twain : direction Las Vegas!
(RTTNews) - Shania Twain may be headed to Las Vegas for a permanent slot at Ceasar's Palace. A source revealed to PerezHilton.com that she has negotiated a deal with Caesar's to have her own permanent show in rotation at the casino's Coliseum venue.
"Her deal is almost done," the unnamed insider tells the website.
Back in September, Twain also announced that she had inked a deal to release her autobiography.
"There have been moments in my life I was concerned by the reality that tomorrow would never come. Recently I experienced one of those moments to an intensity that brought on a sudden urgency to document my life before I ran out of time, before I had the opportunity to share an honest and complete account of my life, in my own words," Twain said of the project.
"There are times in your life that are meant for reflection, and this was one of them. I began writing this book with a sincere respect for the past, present and future as something never to be taken for granted," she added.
The book is expected out in Spring 2011. There is no word yet on when her residency in Vegas would begin.
I am glad that Shania not doing permanent shows in Vegas, but at the same time I really wanted to see Shania perform. Shania tv show is about after the divorce, not about the divorce. The show hasn't debuted yet, so I'd rather not judge until after watching it.
Twain timeAt a Billboard Music Awards press conference in 2003, Shania Twain said she’d have to be “really old” to have a show on the Vegas Strip. Now she’s reportedly in negotiations for a Caesars residency. Guess she’s old enough now. — Ken Miller, associate editor
All those gossip site reports about Shania Twain coming to Caesars Palace simply aren’t correct -- or at best they’re a step ahead of themselves. I [Robin Leach] asked The Colosseum execs about the rumors, and they simply said, “Not true. No contract, no negotiations.” They added that they’d love to welcome her if she wants to perform here, but at the moment, absolutely nothing is set in cement.

First, before I address the rumor, congratulations to Shania Twain on her sunset oceanside New Year’s Day wedding to Nestle executive Frederic Thiebaud, the ex-husband of the woman who stole the singer’s husband from her. Shania’s career and life suffered over the spousal betrayal -- a marriage shattered by her best friend!
Now to the rumor that surfaced yesterday as a result of the new Oprah Winfrey Network that debuted to more than 1 million viewers over the weekend. Shania will host the Why Not for OWN that delves into decisions that turn life upside down.
In the trailers for Shania’s program, she talks about what it took to resume her career and clearly shows twice footage of her at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace and in her tour bus. That sparked a number of tweets to me asking if she’s coming to Caesars with a Rod Stewart-type shortened residency with limited appearances. If true, it would certainly be nowhere near as many as Cher, who begins her final shows Jan. 11, or Celine Dion, who starts her new run March 15.
Perez Hilton joined in the rumor mill and as one of my Twitter followers stated: “This is exactly how rumors get started -- and when not denied become true eventually.”

Turns out there’s a lot more to just rumor I reported last week about the possible run of Shania Twain concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Now I can reliably confirm that there have been serious conversations and negotiations with Shania, her business representatives and AEG, which produces the Caesars Palace shows.
I also can reveal that all parties want the deal to be finalized, and if the t’s get crossed and the i’s get dotted, then we will see Shania here for a regular series of engagements. That would mean one Canadian songbird filling in the dates when another Canadian songbird -- Celine Dion -- is on vacation.
“You haven’t been wrong so far with your exclusives about stars playing the Colosseum, and you’re not likely to be wrong on this one, either,” I was told.
