I was lucky enough to score tickets to the Oprah show for today (April 28)!! All I can say is AMAZING!!
When we arrived at Harpo Studios, most people in line didn't even know it was the Shania filming. After a ton of waiting, my mom and I were seated towards the back and waited for Shania to grace the stage. The segment was very detailed and her book sounds very in depth. They talked a lot about Shania's childhood and Mutt's betrayal. Carrie and Fred were both in the audience- Carrie cried but Shania was able to keep her composure.
They showed a ton of clips of Why Not? And the show looks awesome! Should be a good, interesting watch. They also showed a clip of Shania going to a bar in Oak Lawn, IL, to surprise a male fan that loves to sinng MIFLAW for karaoke. Shania then surprised him with a trip to Nashville in June (during Fan Fair) to have brunch with her!!
Couple more side notes: Shania uses a lot of hairspray, Oprah commented that it was making her nauseous lol. Saw Shania leave with Fred and Carrie and Fred waved. I'm a true stalker, can't help it lol.
And the best part- Shania/Oprah are sending everyone in the audience to Nashville for two days for that brunch with Shania!! I'm so excited, I couldn't contain myself lol. And they're setting us up at the Opryland!!
And as for new music: she stated that she is very much wanting to sing again but I think the docuseries will really show that journey. No dates or timelines were given. I would have rathered they discussed her music more but it was Oprah- gotta get the emotions going.

Oprah is back in her dressing room after interviewing country music star Shania Twain and can't stop singing her praises—literally! Then, Oprah shares her thoughts on how fame can change a person.
"I didn't want to live," she tells Oprah Winfrey of being told that then-husband Robert "Mutt" Lange was having an affair with her assistant and close friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud, in an interview airing Tuesday.
Now, the singer says the dissolution of that 14-year marriage was "a very positive thing." Adds Twain: "I needed the wake-up."
Though she doesn't know the details of the alleged affair to this day – the couple has never admitted infidelity – the country superstar, 45, tells Winfrey she tried to get answers and even wanted her husband back. At one point, she recalls writing to Marie-Anne and asking, "Why are you torturing me? Let it go, please," she said. "Find love somewhere else from someone else."
"I know it was pathetic," Twain says of the letter. "But we all have pathetic moments. No one is above this type of low."
Finding Her Voice Again
While trying to heal from the divorce, Twain turned to the one person who truly could understand what she was going through: Marie-Anne's estranged husband, Frédéric. The two eventually fell in love, and married in January in Puerto Rico.
Happily married, Twain is now making an effort to reclaim her voice after a five year absence from the stage. She recently went to a doctor in Nashville to check her vocal cords and discovered that she suffers from a condition called dysphonia, which she describes as the muscles in her throat squeezing her voice box.
She attributes the condition to years of fear – from witnessing domestic violence as a child, her parents' deaths, the uncertainty that followed and battling longtime stage-fright. Still, Twain, who is releasing a new memoir, From This Moment On, and has a new show on Winfrey's network, OWN, debuting Sunday, says she plans to embrace music.
"I've trapped my own voice, and now I've got to unwipe all that," Twain says. "I really can't imagine not singing again."

Is Today show 2 hrs long? Does anyone know what portion of the program she will be on? Or for how long?
The Today Show is actually FOUR hours now. The usual 7-9, then at 9 they switch hosts and then at 10 Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford take over. If I had to guess I would say Shania will be on during the 8:00 hour for 10-15 minutes. Just a guess.

There's a decent Shania article in The Daily Mail.Co.Uk They have posted Mutt and Marie-Anne Thiebaud pics. Please comment on their site to show our support for Shania!
Shania Twain Details Family Abuse & Shocking Divorce In Oprah Winfey Show (VIDEO) Shania Twain is finally opening up about her ex-husband's affair in a new memoir, aptly titled From This Moment On. In 2008 Mutt Lange, Twain's hubby of 14 years, left her for her then-best friend, Marie-Anne Thiebaud.
Superstar Shania Twain became a household name when her pop and country songs dominated the charts. Shania's album The Woman in Me sold more than 12 million copies and turned Shania into the best-selling female country artist of all time. In her first television interview in five years, Grammy winner opens up about the secrets of her past, her childhood, the double betrayal and her twist-of-fate love story. Plus, why she lost her voice on Oprah Winfrey Show on Wednesday, December 7, at 8.00 pm on BIG CBS LOVE.
At the height of her career in 2002, with five Grammys and her album Come on Over became the best-selling album, Shania walked away from it all. She and Mutt moved into a Swiss chateau to live a quiet life with their young son. Unfortunately, wealth and fame couldn't shelter Shania from pain in the public eye. Six years later, she made headlines when her 14-year marriage fell apart and she says she discovered Mutt was having an affair with her closest friend.
Growing up in Ontario, Canada, Shania had a tumultuous childhood. Her mother and stepfather struggled to pay the bills; it was Shania's mother who pushed her into singing gigs, seeing it as a way for the family to earn money. "I think she really did see something genuine there, but she grabbed onto it as though it was a lifeline for her," Shania says.
Shania says she remembers the first time she witnessed violence between her mother and stepfather: She was just 4 years old. Despite the abuse she witnessed at home, Shania says she did love her stepfather. "My father was a beautiful man. He took us children in as his own. There were three of us girls, and he gave us so much.”
When Shania was 22, her parents were killed in a car crash and Shania was left to take care of her brother and two sisters. Growing up in poverty and watching her mother being abused, Shania says, "You dream more realistically." Little did she know that her realistic dreams would soon lead to fame and fortune?
By 2008, Shania appeared to be leading a fairy-tale life with her husband, Mutt, and their young son. "I was very lonely, to be honest," she says. Her closest friend and confidant at the time was her assistant Marie-Anne. What was painful and shattering was when she was told Mutt and Marie-Anne were allegedly having an affair.
Shania says, "There were days when I really just was like, You know, I just don't even really care if tomorrow comes.” Even though Shania says she'll always be sad about the way her marriage ended, she has been able to move on. Since Shania and Mutt share a child together, she still sees Mutt, but she refuses to see Marie-Anne.
With her marriage over and her confidence shattered, Shania lost her ability to perform. Shania attributes her voice closing up to the fears she's been living with her whole life. "I've just trapped my own voice, and now I've got to unwind all that."
After her marriage fell apart, Shania turned to the one person she thought could understand: Marie-Anne's ex-husband, Fred. Over time, Fred and Shania's shared pain evolved into something more. Shania says. On January 1, 2011, Fred and Shania married on a beach in Puerto Rico."I really can't complain. I've got a beautiful man; I have everything I could ever want in life," Shania says.
