Shania Twain Returns to CMA Music Festival for Book Signing

Shania Twain will return to the CMA Music Festival for the first time in 15 years to sign copies of her New York Times best-seller, From This Moment On. The book signing will take place at the Bridgestone Arena on Friday, June 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Central.

“I’m so thrilled to be part of the Festival,” Shania said. “It is a huge reunion each year for fans and artists and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the artists I haven’t seen in awhile and connecting with the fans who have been so supportive through the years.”

Shania will be bringing a fan or 300 with her. During her recent appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show to promote her book, she surprised the entire studio audience with two-day passes to the CMA Music Festival and accommodations at the Gaylord Opryland Resort.

“We are thrilled that Shania is back for the 40th anniversary and bringing another 300 fans to the party,” said CMA Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore. “She is such a warm and respected ambassador for the format and her connection with her fans speaks to the heart of what makes this event such a success.”

Even though the CMA Music Festival doesn't officially end until this Sunday, our last day of broadcasts was today! And what a day it was. Jerry Springer came by and said that out of all the jobs he's had over his lifetime, his favorite was being the mayor of Cinncinati! Shania dropped by and we talked about whether or not she would have written her memoir had her parents been still living. She said unless they were vehemently opposed she would have. Martina and Sara Evans both said the highlight of Wednesday nights CMT Music Awards was meeting Justin Bieber because it made them "rock stars" with their daughters! More concerts and more autograph signings over these next couple of days will go on in Nashville! I'm headed back to my favorite city, Baltimore!

Shania Makes Two Appearances on Day 2 Of CMA Fest

The second day of CMA Fest was another fun filled day of stars and music. Fans waited all day at Bridgestone Arena to meet Shania Twain and to get an autographed copy of her book, “From This Moment On.” Hundreds of people filled Fan Fair Hall this afternoon to meet Rascal Flatts and get their picture taken with the group.

Dedicated country fans fought the heat today to hear their favorite artists perform outside. Sawyer Brown, James Wesley and Darryl Worley played the Riverfront Stage this afternoon. Other fans spent time at the ABC Summer Block Party in the Family Zone playing games like Family Feud.

LP field was full of energy all night. Ashton Shepherd was the first to take the stage, followed by Dierks Bentley. Lady Antebellum got the entire crowd to join in on their hit single, “Our Kind Of Love,” before singing their latest song, “Just A Kiss.” The biggest surprise of the night was Shania Twain coming out on stage to introduce Sugarland. Once on stage, Sugarland wowed the crowd by singing songs by Cee Lo Green, Britney Spears, Dolly Parton and even Beyonce. Keith Urban sang his newest release, “Long, Hot Summer.” Jake Owen joined him onstage to sing  ”Don’t Think I Can’t Love You.” Reba McEntire closed down LP field singing some classic fan favorites and also her newest single, “When Love Gets A Hold Of You.”

Jason Michael Carroll, Steve Holy and Chuck Wicks are just some of the acts that will be taking the Riverfront Stage on Day 3 of CMA Fest. Chris Young, Little Big Town, Josh Turner, Trace Adkins, Martina McBride and Rascal Flatts are set to play LP FIeld.

As the speakers burst forth with 'Man, I Feel Like a Woman,' Shania Twain surprised the CMA Music Fest crowd as she stepped on stage to introduce Sugarland (June 10). "I miss you! So nice to see you," she told the cheering crowd. "I'm here to introduce two people I love and admire so much."

Shania says she hasn't decided on a producer for the new album, doesn't know which direction she wants to go in with the album and may have an idea of a release date by the end of the Summer.

According to comments on another message board Shania mentions in the CW article (Jun 20 edition) that the album will come out in 2012.

Yeah. I saw that. Shania has trouble with consistency in regards to her answers concerning a new album. At the Vegas announcement she said new material might not be released in time for her Vegas shows. So that would blow 2012.

One of the facebookers wrote in reply on cmt page one of the comments I see everywhere since they broke up (Amen!) "Alexander Rhodes Mutt Lange is the only reason she ever had any hits." What has he smooked? Shania DID the main vocals not "Mutt" if these songs of her were given to another Artist it would have stayed in history without anyone caring about it am I right or not!

June? Than it's after the Why not series her voice there sounded much good than shortly after I think she is trying to keep her voice on healing so she did quite small effort talking on CMT I wish it will get better she's in my prayers.

Sugarland Hire Drumline for ‘Find the Beat Again’ and ‘Stuck Like Glue’ on ‘CMA Music Festival’ Special

Few acts in country music bring more surprises than Sugarland, and the duo offered another Sunday night, bringing in a drum corp to kick off their two song set during ABC’s ‘CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock.’ Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush did their best to deliver their theatric stage show to the crowd at LP Field in Nashville and viewers at home.

Shania Twain introduced the duo, after a lengthy interview that seemed to be teasing a performance by the legendary singer. During a video montage, Twain talked about returning to public life after a long and often embarrassing period away. She admits that she had to “force myself to do uncomfortable things,” but now she’s ready to “put the optimism back in things.”

Nettles wore cherry-red, tight fitting pants and a black tank top with suspenders, while the more casual Bush donned his familiar black derby. They opened with ‘Find the Beat Again,’ an album cut from their ‘The Incredible Machine’ album. The drumline remained onstage during the song, but were gone by the time Sugarland began ‘Stuck Like Glue.’ Nettles was the focus during this song, as her often cartoon-like expressions are too irresistible to look away from. The crowd erupted as she went into the fan-favorite reggae breakdown portion of the song.

ABC was careful to make sure viewers knew Sugarland weren’t performing live, one night after the band witnessed the tragedy at the Indiana State Fair. A low-tech graphic flashed during their performance — and their’s only so far — reminding viewers the show was taped in June. Sugarland cancelled tonight’s show in Iowa due to Saturday night’s tragedy.
